A one-shot story
DISCAIMER: I don't owe Daredevil
A lone red figure wearing a devil's costume stands poised using his enhanced hearing to listen to sirens, people screaming, or silence...peaceful silence. God, he wished Hell's kitchen will give one day of peace from violent people killing each other because he's not afraid of anything. He later hears a gunshot not far... but close. He leaps off and uses the wire cable from his billy club to swing.
My name is Matthew Murdock, At a young age I was blind after saving an old man from a truck, but after I saved his life. The truck that contained radioactive waste made me lose my sight... My father told me in the next few years an operation would give me back my sight...Unfortunately, though my remaining senses such as hearing, smell, touch, and taste were beyond what I imagined they're so acute, but greatest thing out of all them is my radar sense allows to me "see" better than what most people look at. I can still feel the radioactive coursing through my body...
It's ironic because even though I lost my sight... my other senses are heightened, but most don't know what I do every day other than going to court, doing paperwork... Most people know me as Matt Murdock the blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen, but the media calls me "Daredevil, the man without fear." Some compare me to Spider-Man. Honestly, I'm getting sick of being compared to someone I don't know...Three nights ago, a woman had been murdered by the three groups of men... I don't know why? It's a homicide case that police can't figure out because the bullet doesn't match with any fingerprints... funny if I touch that bullet. I would know who it is in a minute and today. I arrive at the rooftop and hearing the police siren arriving.
A FEW MINUTES LATER...
A man had just been murdered with the same bullet, and again the police have found no trace where it leads to... WAIT! I hear police firing at ME?!
As the police fire at Daredevil, he leaps out into the next rooftop.
Damn! I don't get it? Why would the police fire at me... unless there's only one person...Hell...if he's in his cell
Suddenly, someone knocks out Daredevil in the head, and that someone has a skin color of purple. The next thing Daredevil wakes up tied in chains. He could hear someone's pulse and recognizes this person Kilgrave.
"It's you. I should've known." Said Daredevil grinding his teeth
"Why Daredevil? Are you accusing me of those police officers firing at you?" Said Kilgrave smiled broadly
"Seems like it," said Daredevil
"Ok, now that I got your attention. I'm not the one who murdered those two people." Said Kilgrave
As Daredevil hears his heartbeat. A bit of shock on his face
His heartbeat isn't beating fast, but I don't trust him.
"If you're not committing those murders? Then who is?" He asked
"The three men. They called themselves the Enforcers. They work for the Big man. They're not far from here. Their next target is in 22nd street." He answered him
He's telling the truth...but something doesn't seem right.
"I'll let you go now." Kilgrave uses the key to unlock the chains. As Daredevil gets up and stretches his arms. He sensed Kilgrave's pulse rates changed as he kicks him from behind knocking him out unconscious and ties him in chains.
I'll be back for him. As for the Big Man, and his associates. They're gonna pay! I'll bring them to justice.
Next few minutes...
At a robbery bank, the Enforcers escape with a bag of money and get into the red car. Until Daredevil used his billy club to smash the car window, and car swifts left to the right headed straight into the lamp post.
As I land at the roof of the car they get out of their car as I fight them. I've noticed their heartbeats are beating as fast. They're too scared my radar sense detects the money bag. As I can smell the hint of the alcohol breath in one of the Enforcers. He makes a run for it, but I catch him with my billy club. The other two try to attack me the bigger one uses his fists to try to smash me. Luckily I dodged it...the next guy. I could hear him running, and the sound of a lash as I backhand him. I was gonna ask them where's the Big man. Then sirens came... The officers can do their job...I was about to escape...but
"WAIT! Who are you?!"
One of them asks, and I simply said
"The name's Daredevil."
I explain to them the whole situation about how Kilgrave used the Enforcers for the killings of the woman and the man. I also explain to them about Kilgrave being tied in chains on 32nd street. The officer explains to me how these people are connected to the Big man. However, nobody knows who the Big man is?
THE NEXT DAY... NELSON AND MURDOCK ATTORNEYS AT LAW
Foggy is sitting down at his desk reading his paperwork. Someone enters the door it's Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer
Foggy clears his throat "So, Matt ready for some clients that we're going to help with-"
Foggy notices Matt was distracted
"Matt?"
Matt got his attention "Oh sorry Foggy. Forgive me, I wasn't paying attention...just had a rough night."
Rough night as Daredevil.
