Damon looked down at her and squinted his eyes. "And that's how you ruin a life. Congratulations."

She looked at him with mild sympathy, mocking him. "It's okay you can cry.."

Her head was tilted in respect, but she was nearly sneering at him.

Damon was so done with this conversation.

He had no clue why he hadn't left yet.

"Quit it or I'll bite." He snarked. Katherine could overpower him any day, but he refused to act like it. She had hurt him and he wanted her to hurt for it. 150 years of waiting to open a tomb the brunette wasn't in, just for her to come back and say she had never really loved him.

A drawl came through her voice, smooth and clear. "Ooh, sexy. He bites. But, does finish the job?" She deadpanned, wondering what had gotten into him. He wasn't serious was he.

"Forget it. You fucking suck." Oh, she could tell he was really hurt, huh.

The brunettes eyes tilted downwards for a second. Her expression flickered. Katherine admitted, she should have been more delicate. Well, the harm was done now, nothing she could do to erase it.

"I won't let you get hurt." The female fuckboy said it with conviction. He scoffed at the thought of her, refusing to let him get hurt. No, that only applied to Stefan. The supposed love of her life.

"And I should believe you why? Your extensive track record screams that anyone who believes you is suicidal. I'm inclined to trust history over the girl who- "

Katherine manages to keep her face neutral, while sending him warning daggers through her eyes.

Damon bends his fingers in the shape of quotes for the last part, for emphasis.

"never looks back."

Kitty-Kat looked almost childish, glaring at him like that. Like a kid who's parents refuse to buy her the toy she wants. Well, too bad. She's not gonna get it, not again.

"My gut tells me not to trust the lying bitch who's only come back to mess with my head." No, his gut did not tell him that. The truth was irrelevant in this conversation though, she had taught him that. It had never mattered where Katherine was involved.

"I did love you, you know."

She said it with the barest sigh.

His gut wrenched itself firmly out of his stomach and into his chest.
