Ever since all of Rory's family died except for her baby brother and her step father, Luke, she knew her life would never be the same. Ever since that day. That horrible, dreadful day, all the family she had left was her kid brother, her step father, her father, and Francine.
Ever since that drunken driver ran into her family's car, she became closer to her only grandparent left. With Christopher in Paris, she never saw him. As for Ricky and Luke, they were still living in the Crap Shack in the Hollow.
She only saw them on weekends.
It was to hard to go back to the place she was raised by her mother. Whom was now dead along with Emily and Richard, due to a traumatic explosion when the street light fell onto the car.
Everyone in that car died.
And Rory watched it happen. She was driving and HE was in the passenger seat.

1. This took place the day of Rory's college graduation.
2. She was in her car with 'HIM', driving to the Gilmore's behind her family's car.
