Chapter 12: The US Agent

Jaune walked through the Beacon's main complex by the statue that greeted newcomers to the academy. Leaning against the side of the statue, he looked out over the city of Vale that was nearby. For the past few days, he and Pyrrha had been working together to improve his fighting skills. Peter would join on rare occasions, but it was mostly just him and Pyrrha.

Since then, Jaune improved significantly, though was still a bit behind. He did manage to beat down all of Team CRDL, mostly due to the fact their anger got the best of them. Glynda was still a pain though. Seriously, what was 'perfect' in her mind?

As he leaned against the statue, Jaune felt an odd presence move past him. He turned around slightly to see who it was, but there was nothing.

"Jaune Arc?"

Jaune turned to see a figure hanging from the statue upside down in a red and blue costume.

"I want to make you an offer." Spider-Man said to him

2 weeks later...

CLASH!

Jaune blocked Weiss' rapier as they locked blades on the training floor. This was the third time they fought, and the last two ended in surprising victories for the young man.

"Argh!" Weiss grunted, "You got lucky the last two times Arc!"

"Well, like everyone says: third times a charm." Jaune quipped as he smiled back

Weiss sneered a bit before pushing Jaune away from her. She then backflipped and formed a glyph behind her that sped up her momentum. But as she charged at him, Jaune did a rather impressive flip in the air before kicking Weiss in the head as she passed him. Weiss fell on the ground just as Jaune delivered the final blow.

"I...yield…" Weiss weakly muttered in both defeat and frustration

Jaune then sheathed his sword and shield before reaching down to offer Weiss on her feet. But the heiress just huffed in annoyance and pushed his hand aside and stormed off.

"Excellent work Mr. Arc." Glynda announced, "Your skills in class have improved significantly over the last few weeks."

"Thanks Professor." Jaune replied, "But I can't take all the credit."

"It appears your extra training with Ms. Nikos has paid off." Glynda added, "Maybe you'll be able to qualify in the tournament."

"That's a big maybe." Jaune chuckled before walking off

Once class had ended, both teams found themselves in the library. Ruby and Yang were playing some game, Blake was reading a book, Weiss was overstudying and was rather annoyed that no one else was, Ren was studying with Nora sleeping next to him, while Jaune and Pyrrha were doing the same as Ren was.

While Pyrrha looked through her book for information, she noticed Jaune doing something while he studied. In his hand was a knife, which he was twirling in his fingers.

"Where did you learn to do that?" she asked him

"Hmm? Oh, I picked it up." Jaune shrugged, "Just recently in fact."

"You seem to have picked up quite a few things." Pyrrha chuckled, "You've improved since we started training."

"Guess that makes me a fast learner." he added, "I should be thanking you though."

Pyrrha couldn't help but blush, "Jaune, it was nothing."

Just then, Jaune felt his scroll go off on the table. He picked it up and looked at it before sighing.

"I have to go." he muttered

"What's wrong?" Pyrrha asked

"Oh it's nothing big." Jaune replied as he got his stuff together, "Family business. See you later guys."

Later that day, RWBY and JNPR-minus Jaune-were in Vale enjoying the day after learning at Beacon.

"I can't believe the weapons store was closed." Ruby said glumly as they walked through the streets

"I'm sure there's another one open sis." Yang assured her

Ren then noticed Pyrrha looking at her scroll, "What are doing?"

"Trying to call Jaune for the tenth time." she answered, slightly annoyed

"Give him a break P-Money, he deserves it." said Yang, "I mean look how far he's come! He beat Ice Queen three times in a row!"

"He got lucky." Weiss huffed as she crossed her arms, "He has Pyrrha training him anyways."

"Sounds like you're jealous." Blake mutter, not bothering to look up from the book she was reading

"Wha-? I am not jealous!" Weiss hissed

"So, any word from Peter?" Nora then asked Team RWBY

"Uh last I heard, he was heading to VNN to show some pictures of Spider-Man he got recently." Ruby answered, "I still wonder how he gets those."

"Maybe we should tag along with him the next time he goes out." Yang suggested

Blake then looked up from her book, "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"Of course! What's the worst that could happen?"

As if on cue, a semi-armored car crashed down the road before being webbed to the road. Spider-Man then swung towards the front just as it finished sliding down the road.

"Whew! That was close!" he muttered as several thugs ran up to him

"Spidey!" he turned to see RWBY and JNPR just the thugs were joined by Roman Torchwick

"Well well, the Spider and his friends." he muttered sarcastically

"Ruby get to safety." Spidey ordered to the seven nearby

"But-"

"Go!" he shouted, "My friend will deal with Slowtwitch here."

"It's Torchwick, and-Wait...What friend?"

Suddenly, a fast disc-shaped object flew through the air bouncing off some of the thugs, knocking them to the ground. The disc then flew back in Spidey's direction before passing him, and landed in its user's hand.

Walking up next to Spidey was a man in dark black tactical uniform. On the shoulder pads were the symbol of a small heater-shaped white shield with a five-pointed red star in the middle. The chest bore seven red and white stripes, while a brown belt with four pouches and silver buckle sat secure around his waist, along with a holster holding a pistol strapped to his left thigh. He had red fingerless gloves that covered his forearms, and black combat boots that looked like they had good use in any form of environment. His face was covered by a black tactical helmet with white wing-like symbols printed on the sides, and a chin strap. A back harness was also on him that had a clip on his back and wrapped around his shoulders with a clip in the form of a black five-pointed star that rested in the upper left hand corner of his red and white chest.

The disc turned out to be a circular shield. The design was that of a roundel, with the center of it a black circle with a white five-pointed star in it, it was surrounded by a white ring, followed by a red ring, and then a black one to end it all.

"Okay…" Torchwick muttered, "Get him."

The thugs got up and charged at the man, who threw the shield once more, knocking several of them. The man then blocked an incoming punch before replying with his own to his attacker's jaw. The shield then returned to his hand, as he jabbed at another thug before throwing it again, taking out the last few stragglers. He then pulled out his sidearm and fired what appeared to be stun shots at Torchwick, who quickly blocked them with his cane. However the man used this to get up close and bash the criminal in the head. Torchwick grunted in pain before aiming his cane at the man and fired a bullet of fire dust followed by ice, creating a cloud of mist.

Once the cloud faded away, the man noticed a bullhead fleeing the scene with Torchwick inside. He then turned to face Spidey.

"He got away." he said, "I'm sorry Spider-Man."

"It wasn't your fault." Spidey assured him, "You did good, and managed to halt a dust robbery."

Soon a crowd began to form as several civilians went up to thank them both.

"Thank you Spider-Man!" one person shouted

"Who's your sidekick!?"

Spidey couldn't help but snort a bit, "He's not my sidekick. Citizens of Vale, I give you your new hero in town: The US Agent!"

"...Citizens of Vale, I give you your new hero in town: The US Agent!"

RWBY and JNPR were now in the library hanging out after their sudden encounter with Torchwick, Spider-Man, and the new hero that showed up called the US Agent. Since then, the new hero was the main topic in the news, and was popping up all over Vale.

"...Man…a new superhero…" Ruby muttered as she and Yang looked at the recent news report via scroll

"Yeah, just add one more to the mix…" Weiss sighed as she gazed at her own scroll

Suddenly, Jaune walked up to them, "Hey guys."

Pyrrha was the first to speak up, "Jaune! Are you ok!?"

"Whoa! I'm fine, I'm fine." Jaune stated as he raised his hands, "What's going on?"

"You don't know?" Nora asked

"Know what?"

"Haven't you seen the news!?" Weiss shouted

Jaune shrugged, "I heard a few things. There was an attempted dust robbery."

"That's mostly true." Ruby muttered, "But there's a new hero in Vale!"

"Really?" Jaune muttered, "Like…another superhero?"

"Yeah, he calls himself the US Agent." Yang added

Jaune's eyes widened, "Wait, I've that name before."

Everyone looked at him surprised, "YOU HAVE!?"

"Yeah, my grandfather told me stories about him." Jaune continued, "The US Agent is a title used by legendary warriors. They're known for wearing black, red, and white uniforms, and only coming to fight when the world needs saving. The last known sighting of the US Agent was back during the Great War, my Great Grandfather fought alongside him."

"Wel, from the looks of him, this guy ain't an old geezer." Weiss countered, "The guy we saw is younger."

"I'm guessing Spider-Man knows about him as well?" Jaune then asked

"Yeah, Spider-Man even said that they're working together." Ren added

Jaune then felt his scroll going off and looked at it, "Ugh, I have to go again."

"Where are you going now?" Blake asked

"Back to my dorm, I have to take this." Jaune said as he left

Once he was gone, Weiss spoke up, "Seriously. There's something odd about Arc all of a sudden."

"Why are you so curious about him all of a sudden?" Yang asked in a teasing tone

"I am not!" the heiress gissed as she glared at the blonde, "It's just odd to see him…"

"Improve?" Balke guessed

"I was gonna say 'try' but improve works too." Weiss continued, "A-Aren't you guys with me on this!?"

"Weiss cut him some slack." Nora insisted, "Fearless leader is on a positive spree, cut him some slack. Right Pyrrha?"

"Right…" Pyrrha replied with some unease in her voice. But Weiss was right, what's going on with Jaune?

Peter was in his lab tinkering with his web shooters when F.R.I.D.A.Y. chimed in overhead.

"Boss, Ms. Belladonna is outside."

"Let her in." Peter replied

Blake then came in through the door as Peter turned to greet her, "Blake, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I just came to ask a question." she replied

Peter nodded with a knowing look, "Let me guess, it involves a certain red, white, and black shield-bearing soldier?"

Blake then crossed her arms, "So…who is the guy?"

"Sorry Blake, I can't say." Peter said to her, "I promised that I wouldn't."

"Come on Pete." Blake insisted, "I've kept your identity a secret for weeks now."

"No can do, he told me not to say a thing." Peter retorted, "Besides, he's a nice guy. When the time comes, he can reveal whenever he wants. Until then, he wishes to keep the mask on."

Blake sighed in defeat, "Alright, does he know who you are?"

"Nope, haven't told him." he answered

"Anything on that Mach IV guy?"

"Nothing new either." the web-slinger replied, "I've set up dozens of scanners across the city should he reappear. They've yet to go off."

"And Torchwick?"

"Same goes for him." Peter added, "Scanners will pick him up. Hell, I even created an app so anyone can warn of a metahuman sighting."

Blake raised an eyebrow, "Metahuman? That's what you're calling them now?"

"Metahuman, Human Mutate, whatever." Peter quipped, "Its all the same."

"Man…we're starting to live in an Age of Heroes." Blake muttered

"No kidding." Peter chuckled, knowing that in his world, the Age of Heroes was already underway. The Avengers, X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four, etc. He then felt his scroll go off before taking it out and seeing the message he just received.

"Oh, I gotta get going." he said as he got out of his chair and headed towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Balke asked

"VNN, I have to deliver new photos…of me." he said before leaving.

Nearly a week had passed since Vale was welcomed to the new hero on the block, the US Agent. Jaune was walking through the streets of Vale casually. He wasn't wearing his regular attire, instead going for a black light-weight jacket, white shirt, and dark blue jeans. He eventually walked into an alleyway and stopped in the middle of it.

A voice then spoke, "Hello there, average citizen. What brings you around Vale this time?"

Jaune looked up to see Spider-Man crawling down the side of a building before jumping off and onto his feet. The hero approached him.

Jaune simply folded his arms on his chest with a grin, "Very funny Spidey."

"Look who's talking…US Agent." Spidey retorted, "You have it?"

Jaune then took out an arm gauntlet of some kind, which then retracted into the circular red-white-and black shield. Jaune then handed the shield to Spidey, who began inspecting it.

"So, how's it feeling?" he asked

Jaune shrugged, "Fine I guess. Whatever you did to it, makes it stronger than normal shields."

"Its titanium." Spidey explained, "I fused it with head and ice dust to absorb either one, and a small case of gravity dust to reduce the weight."

"Interesting." said Jaune, "Got the idea from somewhere?"

"Yeah, a friend of mine." Spidey replied, "Though his shield is made from a rare metal. You won't find it in a weapons store."

Jaune modded slightly, "Ruby would gawk over it."

"I think she's already gawking over it." Spidey quipped

Suddenly, Spidey felt something tingling in his mind as his Spider sense went off. He stopped inspecting Jaune's shield as he looked around.

Jaune however noticed this, "What is it? What's wrong?"

Spidey looked around slowly, "We're not alone…F.R.I.D.A.Y.?"

"Unknown detected. Six o'clock."

Jaune then swung around as Spidey tossed the shield to him. As he was ready to strike, he stopped abruptly as he looked in shock. His shield nearly made contact with the face of a certain redhead, who was ready to retaliate.

"Pyrrha…?"

"Jaune?"

"Spidey?"

The two huntsmen looked at him in confusion at what he just said.

"What, I thought we were saying our names?" Spidey muttered

Pyrrha then noticed the shield Jaune was holding, "Jaune, what are you holding?"

"Pyrrha, it's not what it looks like-" Jaune began saying

"You're the-"

THWIP!

Before Pyrrha could finish speaking, Spidey webbed her mouth shut.

"Can we talk somewhere private before somebody else sees us?"

The three were now on a nearby rooftop as Pyrrha paced around, trying to get her thoughts together. Jaune was sweating buckets down his neck like a nervous wreck, while Spidey watched in his signature pose.

"Ok…ok…you're the US Agent…" Pyrrha muttered, "You're the US Agent…How?"

"It was a few days since we started training together." Jaune explained to her, "Spidey made his way to Beacon and said he needed me. I was reluctant at first, but then I realized something. What if I could be a hero for both the people and huntsmen? What if I could inspire hope? That's when I remembered stories of the US Agent. And I should also be thanking you…and Peter."

Pyrrha looked surprised, "Me?"

"Your training helped me big time." Jaune continued, "Look I know what you think is-"

"Stop." Pyrrha cut him off

"Pyrrha wait-" Spidey tried to interject but was cut off as well

"Jaune, I'm not mad at you. I'm not." Pyrrha said to him as she approached him, placing her hand on his shoulder, "I'm just upset that you didn't tell me."

Jaune looked down, "I didn't want you or anyone to worry…"

With that, Jaune jumped off the rooftop without saying another word. Pyrrha wanted to follow him, but Spidey grabbed her.

"Give him time, don't worry." he assured her

"Why did you pick him exactly?" Pyrrha asked him

"I was nearby when you and Peter confronted him at Beacon." the web slinger said to her, "I saw the potential in him, and he had the friends to help him when he needed it. Hell, even I was reluctant in offering him the job. Jaune wasn't the first hero I worked with."

"You lost others?" Pyrrha asked

Spidey looked away before muttering quietly, "More than you think…but don't let that worry you. I try to keep Jaune on a 'scroll only' basis."

Pyrrha nodded, understanding him, "I should get back, need to clear my head. I won't tell anyone else."

As Pyrrha made her way back to the academy, Spidey decided to go swinging around the city. Unknown to them both, a certain robotic unit was watching from afar.

"Target identified: Jaune Arc."

Pyrrha now sat on her bed with a solemn look on her face. Ren was sitting on his bed inspecting his weapons, while Nora jumped rather happily on her bed.

"How come Jaune gets home so late?" Nora then asked out loud

"He's been scarce for a while." Ren added, "Between classes included."

"That's weird... Doesn't he know we have a field trip tomorrow? We need our rest!" Nora exclaimed as she twirled in the air before landing on her bed on her back.

"I'm sure our leader knows exactly what he's doing." Pyrrha muttered rather angrily

Both Nora and Ren looked at one another confused before the former said, "Hmm…I guess so."

The three then went back to doing what they were doing, unaware that Jaune heard everything from outside his dorm. He hung his head low until a voice broke him from his thoughts.

"Hey Jaune!"

Jaune turned to see Ruby standing nearby, "Long time, no see! Did you lock yourself out again?"

"Oh uh, nope!" Jaune replied, "I got my scroll here!"

"So! Where have you been lately?" Ruby asked him

Jaune sighed a bit before lowering his head, "I messed up, I took up a job I probably shouldn't have. Now Pyrrha won't speak to me…I'm a failure."

Ruby hummed in thought before responding, "Nope!"

Jaune looked up at her baffled, "Nope?"

"Nope!" Ruby repeated, "You're a leader now, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure."

"But what if I'm a failure at being a leader?" Jaune asked

"Nope!"

Jaune couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "You know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff."

"Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid...and you might've even been a failure the first day we met!" Ruby continued, "But you can't be one now. You know why?"

"Why?"

"Because it's not just about you anymore." Ruby explained, "You've got a team now, Jaune. We both do! And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first, and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I think that can be you."

With that said, Ruby made her way to her dorm. Leaving Jaune to think about what he said.

The next day came as RWBY, JNPR, Peter, and other students found themselves in the red-leaved forest of the Forever Fall. Glynda led the students through the terrain.

"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful." Glynda announced, "But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so."

"Great, thanks for the pep-talk Glynda." Peter muttered quietly to himself as he and everyone else made their way into the forest. Both Ruby and Yang smiled at each other as they went to work. Ren was busy filling a jar with sap, while Nora was eating the content out of an already filled one. Peter, on the other hand, found himself next to Pyrrha.

"Hey Pyrrha. Long time no see." he muttered

"Oh, hey Peter." Pyrrha said glumly

"Why so glum, chum?" he quipped, "Let me guess: Jaune?"

Pyrrha sighed, "It's complicated."

"How so?"

"Its just…" Pyrrha began saying, "Jaune is the first real friend I've ever had in a long time. And yesterday, I found out he's been doing something behind all our backs."

Peter raises an eyebrow in feign suspicion, "Are you angry at him?"

"Surprisingly, no." Pyrrha admitted, "I'm…happy for him. He did something amazing. Its just…"

"You're worried, aren't you?"

"Of course I am!" Pyrrha whispered quietly before looking around to see if anyone heard her. She then looked back at him, "What if he gets hurt or something?"

"Pyrrha, Jaune is more capable than you think." Peter said to her, "Look I felt the same back with my old team. You have to have faith, and faith is hard to come by."

"Pyrrha."

The redhead and Peter looked to see Jaune approaching them.

"I guess I should leave you two-" Peter said but Jaune interrupted him

"Its ok Peter." Jaune said to him, "I want everyone here. Look Pyrrha, I'm sorry I should've told you what I've been doing…"

As Jaune was talking to his partner, Peter felt a tingling sensation run down his entire nervous system. All surrounding noise seemed to dull out as this happened.

"Spidey-sense…" he muttered quietly as he was drawn back into reality

"Peter…?" Jaune asked him, "Is everything ok?"

"RUN!"

All eyes turned to see Russell Thrash and Sky Lark of Team CRDL running for their lives back towards everyone.

"URSA! URSA!" Russell cried out before bumping into Yang, who grabbed him by the shirt

"What!? Where!?"

"Back there!" he pointed in the direction he came from, "Its got Cardin!"

Jaune was first to break into a mad dash, leaving everyone behind.

"Jaune, wait!" Ruby shouted

Peter then stopped her, Ruby, don't. Ren, go get Goodwitch. Nora, you and Blake stay here and stop any Grimm in the area. The rest of us will help Jaune."

"On it." Ren said calmly before running to get Professor Goodwitch. Everyone else then went off to help the others, while Blake then turned to Peter.

"Think it's time to break out the red and blue?" she asked him

"I didn't bring it with me." Peter chuckled nervously

Blake glared at him, "You what?"

"I-I didn't think I would be needing it on a field trip." Peter retorted

"Well, what about your Iron Spider armor then?" she suggested

I left it in the lab, but I can send it here to me." Peter answered, "I'll have to send it to a remote location so no one sees me."

"Then you do that."

"ARGH!"

Cardin was flung into a nearby tree by the giant Ursa in front of him. The creature then roared as it prepared to strike once more.

"Crap crap crap!" he cried out in fear as Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Pyrrha arrived at the scene

"Oh no!" Pyrrha shouted as the Grimm readied to strike, but was deflected by Jaune's shield. Weiss then readied her own weapon to help him, but Pyrrha stopped her.

"Wait." she told her

Jaune took the shield out from Ursa's paw and slashed at its stomach, causing it to lash out and try to crush him. He rolled out of the way and jumped over its swipe at his feet, but he was unprepared for it when it launched a claw at him in midair. He landed far away, but was immediately back on his feet and passing Cardin as he charged again. The Ursa then knocked Jaune behind it when he tried for a leaping attack, and he looked at the scroll in his shield to find out that his Aura level was in the red zone. He grows angry again and starts to run at the Ursa as it also begins to dash towards him.

As they are just about to clash however, Pyrrha saw that Jaune left himself completely open to the Ursa's attack, and she lifted her hand out to him, gathering dark red energy in her arm. Just as the Ursa is about to hit him, the glow surrounded Jaune's shield and makes it lift up to block the swipe. Jaune used the surprise defensive move to lean on the ground, push his shield back up, and swing his blade right through the Ursa's neck. The head then fell to the ground as the body slams onto the ground.

Ruby and Weiss looked at Pyrrha surprised, "Wait…what?"

"How did you-"

"Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs." Pyrrha explained, "My Semblance is polarity."

"Whoa, you can control poles…" Ruby muttered

"No you dunce!" Weiss hissed, "It means she has control over magnetism!"

"Magnets are cool too…" Ruby said quietly, still impressed, "Should we-"

"Tell him?" Pyrrha guessed, "No, but Peter was right. He has improved."

Cardin then came to his senses as Jaune helped him up, "Whoa, Jaune?"

"You good." he asked him

Cardin nodded slowly, "Yeah…I better report this to Goodwitch. I'll be right back."

Cardin then ran off to help his team as Jaune approached the four huntresses.

"Not bad Vomit Boy." Yang said while lightly smacking him in the arm

"Thanks Yang." he said, "I had a lot of help."

"Jaune…" Pyrrha began saying, "I'm sorry, about the other night."

"So am I." he replied, "I should've told you."

"Other night? What are you talking about?" Yang asked

Before either one could say anything, a red laser hit the ground in between them. The five backed away as a gray-armored suit landed on the ground with a loud thud.

"Target identified: Jaune Arc, US Agent." Mach-IV announced as it fired a laser from its arm cannon. Jaune and Pyrrha narrowly dodged it before Jaune deployed his US Agent shield to block what was left.

"How did he find us!?" Jaune shouted

"I was there, boy." the steel hull sneered, "I saw who you really were while you and Spider-Man bent the knee to Nikos here. Now you and her will be made an example. Now tell me: Where is Spider-Man?"

Pyrrha was about to attack when Mach-IV fired another round at her, sending her flying into the forest. Jaune then took this time to throw his shield into the villain, knocking the wind out of it before catching the shield in time before Mach-IV fired a massive beam at him.

Jaune blocked the blast with his shield, but could see it begin to glow at a fast rate.

"Titanium is a strong metal, but not invincible." Mach-IV stated before withdrawing a hard-light blade from his other gauntlet. The steel hull then charged and sliced part of the shield off, leaving it broken. However, Jaune still held onto what remained, unharmed. He then shoved what remained of the shield into Mach-IV's faceplate but it grabbed him and threw him into a nearby tree.

"Jaune!" Ruby shouted as she got ready herself, but Mach-IV took note of this and fired at her and Weiss, knocking far away.

"Hey! Don't hurt my sister!" Yang shouted as she attacked. Mach-IV easily dodged her and fired a concussive shot at her, knocking her out as well. The steel hull then set his sights back on Jaune, who was struggling to lift his shield up, now that the gravity dust Spidey infused was destroyed.

"Pathetic…" Mach-IV muttered as he readied his energy blade. But as he made contact with Jaune, a bright light engulfed him.

"Argh!" it shouted

Jaune looked surprised to see that a white aura was around him. On top of that, Mach-IV's arm that held his energy blade was now destroyed.

"My aura…" he muttered, "This must be my semblance…"

He was pulled back to reality as Mach-IV charged his cannon, "This ends the story of the US Agent."

TWIP!

Before Mach-IV could perform the killing blow however. A white web-line latched onto the robot's remaining arm, pulling it upward as it fired into the air.

Jaune looked in shock, "Spidey…?"

"Jaune!"

Jaune looked to see Weiss toss something in his direction. He managed to grab it, and see that it was some ice dust. He looked down at his shield, it was still glowing orange and the edge Mach-IV cut off was still sharp. He then got an idea.

"I got it…"

Using the ice dust, Jaune slammed into the shield to defuse the heat in it. He then picked up the shield, reminding himself that it was much heavier now, and charged at the struggling robot.

"AAARRRGGGHHH!"

Jaune then rammed the sharp edge of the shield into Mach-IV's chestplate. Sparks went flying and the robot's systems began to malfunction. The cannon stopped firing as all power went out, and the red glow of Mach-IV's visor went out. The body then fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Jaune panted heavily as he looked at the robot's body. Pyrrha and Ruby, who recovered from Mach-IV's attack, ran up to him and embraced him. Weiss looked at him with a smirk of surprise on her face.

"Jaune…" Pyrrha muttered as she hugged him

"I'm good…I'm good…" he replied as he looked into the forest

It was now late at night at Beacon as Jaune stood on the rooftop near his dorm, JNPR and RWBY were with him, while Peter was nowhere to be seen. Pyrrha stood next to him as he spoke to his friends.

"...And that's the truth." he said, "I'm the US Agent, Spidey, Spider-Man recruited me. I thought it could help, but in doing so, it pushed everyone I know away from me, I'm sorry."

"Are you gonna keep playing hero?" Yang asked him

"Uh, I spoke with Spidey over the phone earlier, "He said I can if I'm still up for it. But I want your approval guys. I want to be a hero, both a huntsmen and a superhero."

"I think you should!" Ruby exclaimed, "A friend whose both types of heroes is awesome!"

"Yeah!" Nora added

"I'm good with it." said Ren

"Hell yeah!

"Sounds good."

"As long as you don't miss class on a daily basis."

Jaune couldn't help but smile, "Thanks guys."

"Remember Jaune, if you need any help just ask." Ruby said to him as she and the others left for their dorms. Leaving both Jaune and Pyrrha on the roof.

"Not bad dude. Well, I could've done better myself."

The two looked to see Spider-Man descend upside down on a webline before twirling in the air and onto his feet.

"How long have you been hiding?" Pyrrha asked him

"Not that long." Spidey replied, "You did well Jaune, and you should be happy to hear that I'm working on a new shield for you."

"Thanks Spidey." Jaune said to him, "I couldn't stop Mach-IV without your help."

"Yeah…wait what?"

Jaune looked at him funny, "You don't remember? He was about to hit me with another shot, you fired a web at him and pulled his cannon up in the air."

"Jaune…I didn't make it to the forest until after you defeated Mach-IV." Spidey retorted

"What?"

Peter was now in his lab as he inspected Beacon's security cameras in the Forever Fall. Ozpin and Glynda were now with him.

"I don't understand what it is you're looking for Mr. Parker." Glynda stated

"Patience Glynda." Ozpin said to her, "Peter?"

"Jaune said he saw something while fighting Mach-IV." Peter explained before stopping one feed, "There!"

The feed he stopped at was that of a camera located in one of the trees. A shadowy silhouette was swinging past on what appeared to be a webline. It was impossible to identify who or what it was.

"What is that?" Glynda muttered before Peter responded

"It's…another Spider-Man…"
