Chapter 1: Training for The Devils

This takes place after the Elf Reincarnation Arc. The gang have defeated the Word Demon and a few weeks have passed since then.

This story will somewhat follow the manga in terms of characters, but the rest is my original story.

I do not own Black Clover or any related works, this is simply a fan-written story by me.

The sun was shining brightly over the Clover Kingdom as morning came. The birds were singing their soft songs, and the leaves were rustling in the light breeze that wandered through. The day was looking to be a good one, for once.

A few weeks had passed since the battle against the Word Demon and the Clover Kingdom was slowly, but surely being restored. Every single one of the Magic Knights had helped in the major repairs from the damage that had been done by the reincarnated elves, well, the Knights that were taken over had to be healed up and questioned, but that wouldn't take very long.

"AHHHH, TODAY'S GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY!". Screaming could be heard from the Black Bulls base as the hero who was crucial in defeating the Word Demon woke up from his bed. "I'm going to have to train my ass off if we're going to beat the Spade Kingdom" Asta proclaimed.

Asta's door was flung open, and there stood an angry looking man. "Why do you always have to scream first thing in the morning, you little brat?"

"Yami Captain! I'm uh… I'm… I'm sorry!" Asta offered his sincerest apologies to the Black Bulls Captain.

Yami blew his cigarette smoke in annoyance "look kid, it's great you're looking to push past your limits, but can you at least calm it down in the morning?". He blew some smoke again, and then left the room.

Asta simply nodded, not wanting to annoy his captain anymore. He knew he was loud, but he just couldn't contain his excitement for the day.

After the young boy got dressed, he headed downstairs to greet his fellow members for the day. "Huh, where is everyone? The only person here is… Miz Charmy!".

"Good morning, la. Do you want some breakfast?" Charmy spoke in her usual charming way.

"Yes please! By the way, do you know where everyone is?" Asta replied back.

"They're sleeping. They are all still tired after the fight against the elves, you're the only one whose energetic enough to be awake already" she laughed. "They will be awake soon, la". Charmy then hands Asta some food and started eating with him.

"Okay, that makes sense. I hope everyone is alright" Asta said while scoffing down his breakfast.

As the Black Bulls boy finished his food, he stood up and headed towards the door to start training. "Thanks for the food Miz Charmy! I'll be outside training, if anyone wants to join me tell them where I am!" Asta said as he headed outside.

It was now the afternoon, and everyone had gotten back in the swing of things. Magna and Luck had been assigned a dungeon-exploring mission, Gauche was visiting his sister, Grey and Gordon were in a corner talking, Vanessa was speaking with Yami, and Zora and Nero were helping Henry in reshuffling and repairing the base.

The only one that wasn't near was Noelle, she was sat outside in the woods watching, or rather, admiring, Asta train with his swords.

"His muscles are so big, no wonder he's so strong" Noelle thought to herself. "But..b..but, it's not like I like them or anything! I was just stating a reason why he could hold those swords!" Noelle talked to herself, calming her down from her blushing.

Noelle looked up towards Asta again, but then became worried. She saw him just standing there as if he was thinking hard about something.

"I need to get stronger, much stronger than I am now" Asta was deep in his thoughts.

Multiple instances started flashing in his mind. Yuno's use of Mana Zone, Captain Nozel's powerful Mercury Magic, Licht and Lumiere's combined magic, as well as the strength of the Word Demon.

Asta clenched his fists "Damn, I still have a long way to go if I'm ever going to help defeat the Spade Kingdom and become the Wizard King". A look of frustration came across his face as he grinded his teeth together, yet he looked like he was still as determined as ever.

Noelle was about to say something to Asta when suddenly a sudden wave of Anti-Magic vibrated across the area, much to her surprise.

"A-Asta…?" The silver-haired girl said worriedly. She looked over to her teammate and saw that he formed a black cocoon around himself, similar to the one he was in at the Witches Forest. "What's going on Asta?!"

The sun started to set, and the sky was becoming cloudy, the birds retreated into their nests and all was silent as if nature itself was reacting to the change in Asta.

"That's it, let the Anti-Magic flow through me. Yes, more, much more". Asta held out his Demon Slayer sword, he gradually allowed more Anti-Magic into his body, more than he had ever done before.

While this was happening, the other Black Bull members, including Magna, Luck, and Gauche, joined up with Noelle and were wondering what had happened.

Finral was the first to talk, "Noelle what is going on? We felt Asta's Anti-Magic all the way from HQ".

"I-it was a scary and ch-ch-chilling s-sensation" Grey whimpered.

Everyone started questioning Noelle and about Asta and why he was encased in something so pitch-black.

More Anti-Magic waves vibrated and shot through the air as the cocoon finally broke apart. What came out amazed, and perhaps even scared everyone. It was Asta in his black form, but he looked different that he had done before.

Asta walked out. As usual his entire right side was covered in Anti-Magic, but there were huge notable differences. The Anti-Magic boy had a set of horns on his head, the right-sided horn being bigger whilst the left-sided one was tiny. The Anti-Magic reached across the left side of his face and he had grown an additional wing, although it was not as big as his right one. His fangs elongated, and his right hand had claws instead of fingertips.

The entire squad were starstruck at what they were looking at.

"Is…is Asta alright?" Vanessa questioned as she looked towards the boy.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Asta responded, much to the surprise of everyone. "Huh, what are you all looking at from there? HUH, DO I SMELL OR SOMETHING?" Asta started sniffing himself as if he was a child.

Noelle was relieved he was still the same. "Bakasta, don't scare me like that" She thought as a relieved smile stretched across her face.

"Alright, since no one is asking the obvious, what the hell did you do brat?" Yami spoke up and pointed towards the boy, much to the relief of the others as they didn't know what to say, they were still shocked, but a bit calmer now.

"Huh? Oh, you mean this?" Asta pointed to himself. "I need to get stronger, much more than I am now. I struggled against the Word Demon in my last battle and was only able to go on because Nero sealed my pain briefly. I thought if I could try to let more Anti-Magic into my body, I could become stronger, and well I guess this is the result. The boy scratched the back of his neck and gave out a big smile.

Nero gazed a worried look towards Asta. It was true she helped him in the battle but couldn't help being sceptical of this new form.

Yami blew some smoke from what is probably his 20th cigarette of the day "Ah, so that's it". He slapped the boy on the back to praise him. "Looks like you really are surpassing your limits, I'm glad. You look freaky as heck, but then again, you never looked any different before" He laughed, others joined in as well.

"Thanks, Captain Yami! I'll make sure to contro-" Asta stopped, as he dropped to his knees. The new Anti-Magic form slowly retracted and disappeared, and what was left was the normal Asta looking surprised. Asta looked out of breath as he stood back up "Aha guess I need more practice to maintain the form" the boy chuckled nervously.

Everyone replied to Asta in unison "YOU CAN DO IT ASTA, we'll be here if you ever need to practice. We'll be cheering you on" they shouted.

"G-guys, thank you" Asta said with a wide smile.

All the members started to head back to HQ for dinner. It was just Asta and Noelle at the back as they entered the door.

"Ba-Bakasta" Noelle started to speak in a quiet tone.

Asta looked at her confusedly, she looked worried. "Are you sure you'll be okay controlling that new form of yours?" Noelle was looking towards the floor. Asta could really sense she was worried about him due to the change in her ki.

Asta put his hand on Noelle's head "I'll be fine Noelle; I've got to become stronger to become the Wizard King" he smiled at Noelle. "I'll protect you and everyone else too".

Noelle was blushing, but she smiled back. "You better not injure yourself like you always do Bakasta!".

"Don't you worry!" Asta began for the food hall but stopped to turn around to Noelle. "By the way, you have to show me your Valkyrie Armour sometime, I've heard so much about it, I bet it's so amazing!" he smiled at the royal.

No matter what happened, she was always so appreciative and happy that Asta never gave up on her and always acknowledged her. "Sure, maybe tomorrow Asta." She smiled back and they both got sat down for dinner.

Elsewhere, in the Spade Kingdom. A man in dark robes can be seen kneeling towards a woman sitting on a throne of some sort. She had an eyepatch on her right eye and wore a menacing smile.

"Thank you for the information, I trust the Black Bulls didn't know you were there in the Clover Kingdom, watching them" she said to the man kneeling in front of her.

The man simply nodded.

"So, I guess he could be a problem for us in the long run, maybe I'll have to do something about it" she thought to herself, with an eerie smile.

"Asta, huh?" she started to giggle to herself.

I have a solid idea for this story, I hope it comes across as good as I think it will.

I aim for this to be around 10 chapters long, but I could extend it depending on any ideas that come to my head.
