This is based on the cartoon, but the characters will be a little out of character, not for parody or AU sake, more like they grew up and changed a little.

Todd was on his way to the first day of middle school. He was rather nervous because he heard Wayside Middle is way different from other middle schools. He would have gone to a normal school, but he loved Wayside Elementary and he especially wanted to be with his best friends, Dana, Myron, and Mauricia.

"Hey, Todd." Myron said while carrying his backpack.

"Oh, hey Myron." Todd said. "I'm nervous but I'm also excited, especially to be here with my best friends."

"Oh… Me too!" Myron put on the biggest smile he could muster, but Todd could tell it wasn't his most genuine.

"What's the matter, Myron?" Todd asked, a bit concerned.

"Oh… I can't lie… It's Dana." Myron sighed. "She's been so busy studying she barely has time to spend with me."

"Really? She may just want to get a good class." Todd said.

"But there is a specific rule in Wayside Middle. "Anyone can join"." Myron said with his index finger up.

"Wow, Myron, you know the rules?" Todd asked.

"Well… I miss Dana so much I have been reading the rules." Myron sheepishly admitted. "She may have rubbed off on me a little."

Soon Maurecia came skating by and punched Todd in the shoulder, but not as hard as she used to.

"Hey, Maurecia." Todd said with a smile while rubbing his sore shoulder.

"Todd, I hope you're ready, because Wayside Middle is far more extreme than Wayside Elementary." Maurecia said. "You start with your own paint gun, yellow, red, blue, or green, and then you use them to fight each other!"

"But mostly solve puzzles." Myron said.

"Since when were you smart?" Maurecia asked.

"Um… I'm not. I just know the rules." Myron blushed a little.

"But it's still extreme!" Maurecia said with her strong fist in the air.

When the three walked in, they saw the coach inside with a clipboard, he looked like Louis but bigger and more muscular and his hair and beard were jet black and he had no sleeves on his shirt and he wore shorts.

"Alright." He said in a voice similar to Louis. "Everyone will have a partner which will last for each semester. Maurecia, you will be teamed up with Todd."

Maurecia gasped with delight.

"Did you rig this?" Todd asked.

"No, it was fate." Maurecia said. "Why would I anyway?" Todd rolled his eyes and shook his head but he smiled a little. Same old Maurecia.

The coach listed a few more partners, until he got to Myron.

"Myron. You will be with Kathy." Myron sighed, he would be paired up with someone he had never even met. He saw a pale girl with black hair, a white T-shirt, black and white shoes and purple shorts.

"Hey, I have a question. Where is Dana?" Myron asked.

"She is on Level 4 already." The coach said.

"Level?" Myron asked.

"Yes, I forgot to mention, every time you pass you go to the next level. But Dana did so well on her entrance exam she jumped ahead." The coach said. Myron sulked. "It's okay, it's not very common, the most jumping students ever got to was level 3."

"Well, maybe I can… Make a new friend." Myron said nervously.

"There are four types of colors, Red means Power, Blue means Water, Green means Poison, and Yellow means Food." The coach said. "Every level you get to, you will change colors and the tasks will be harder. There are 200 levels. Once you complete them all, you can graduate to the 7th grade!"

Everyone cheered, except Kathy who seemed to clap in a bored manner.

"Now everyone start!" The coach blew his whistle. The students put on their gear which were friction free shoes and protective gear which matched their colors.

Todd nervously blasted his red paintball at Maurecia, who caught it in her blue glove and dunked it into a basket.

Myron gulped and blasted his paintball, but it missed and went splat on the floor, he tried blasting more, but they splattered onto everything.

Kathy was in her yellow suit and successfully scored points in the nets, baskets, and bases.

Meanwhile Maurecia scored extra points by skating up a ramp.

The coach then blew the whistle and everyone stopped.

"Great job everyone! You all get to climb up to 2!" The coach shouted. Everyone's outfits changed color, Todd's to blue and Maurecia's to red. They chuckled about how they switched. Kathy changed to green, but Myron didn't change at all. "Oh, except you Myron. But you will do well next time."

"But my partner climbed up." Myron said.

"Nobody said partners share everything, they just have to work together." The coach said. Myron pouted a little.

"Great job." Kathy said.

"You mean it?" Myron asked.

"Yeah… if you were trying to be the biggest loser ever." Kathy laughed, then scowled threateningly. "If you don't pick up the pace, I will have to find a new partner, partners can't be 5 ranks apart! Kapeesh?"

Myron nodded with a nervous smile.

"Alright! Round 2!" The coach blew the whistle again. Everyone scrambled to start playing. Once again, everyone did well, but Myron was tired, he couldn't run very well due to being out of shape.

Soon the coach blew the whistle again. "Alright, due to this being slightly harder, nobody climbed ranks this time except…"

"Come on…" Myron whispered.

"Maurecia, Eric Fry, and Dana!" The coach announced. "Great job!"

Maurecia's color changed to yellow and Eric's changed from yellow to blue.

"Oh come on! This game is dumb!" Myron shouted.

"It's not the game that's dumb, it's you!" Kathy spat. "You can't complete Level 1 because you're a nobody!"

Nobody, nobody, nobody. The words echoed in Myron's head. He began shaking and sweating.

"Myron… Are you okay?" Todd asked.

"Don't look at the nobody!" Myron cried and ran out the door.

"Myron, come back!" Todd shouted.

"Todd, we'll talk to him later…" Maurecia said.

"Maurecia, I know you like to win, but Myron is distressed." Todd said.

"He acted like this before you came to school, whenever he calls himself a "nobody", there's kind of nothing anyone could do except wait until he feels better." Maurecia said.

"Why?" Todd asked.

"Nobody ever knew except Dana. And she never told anyone, not even me." Maurecia said.

Myron stayed in the janitor's closet, sucking his thumb. He curled up into a ball and began having flashbacks.

"Come on, boys. Time for the big game." A man who looked like an older Myron said, as two 10 year old boys followed him and a woman.

"Can I come too?" A five year old Myron asked with puppy eyes.

"No, you have to stay here." The mom said.

"Is it because I messed up the game?" Myron asked.

"Yes, you're better off staying home." The dad said. The parents left him alone in the dark. Myron went to reach for the light switch, but he wasn't tall enough.

"I'm not a nobody you know!" He screamed.
