Della was busy working, one day. Perry came over to her desk, a slip of paper in hand.
"Hi, Della."
"Hi, Chief! What's up?"
"I have a special favor to ask you."
"Ok."
"Next month, there's going to be a special 'Lawyer's Family Day.' Here's a flyer about it."
He gave it to her, and she looked it over.
"Sounds fun. And you'd like me to attend it with you?"
"Yes, but more than that: One of the events will be a 'Secretary Dunk Tank.' Lawyers' secretaries will sit on it and get dunked into the water."
"And you want me to be one of the secretaries who gets dunked?"
"Yes—only if you want to do it."
"Sure. I'll bring my bathing suit!"
"Well, actually, there's something about that: They want the secretaries to wear their clothes!"
"Their clothes?"
"Yes. Any typical outfit they'd wear to work."
"I see! Including shoes?"
"No, shoes won't be necessary."
"That's a relief! Well, I think I have one, or two, dresses around that I won't mind getting wet. Sure, Chief, I'll do it."
"You're a good sport, Della!"
She smiled. "Thanks, Chief!"
"Will this be the first time you've ever gone swimming with your clothes on?"
"Yes, I believe it will! But I'm sure it'll be a typical hot LA summer day, so why not!"
They both laughed.
"Oh, you may take a one-hour lunch today."
"Thanks, Chief."
"I'm leaving for lunch, as well. See you at 2:00."
"Bye, Chief."
She gave him back the flyer and he left. Soon afterward, she also left.
