The front steps of the New York County Supreme Court are packed with people as she pulls into one of the reserved parking slots
Fifteen Minutes till the trial.
Several media outlets are waiting for her to take her statement while several angry protesters were screaming justice at the top of their lungs. She took a deep breath as she pulls out her phone inside her bag
Ten minutes.
She unlocks her phone and dials the only number she memorized even when she's sleeping and she waits.
and waits…
"Are you sure about this?"
"They gave me the case. I'm sure."
"You still have time to back out, pack your bags, and go back here in Florida."
She chuckles, "Florida is good, but I'm staying here. I have to finish this once and for all."
"You're driving your father crazy."
"Tell him I love him. Also here's the deal; If I win this case, I will get a ticket tomorrow and fly there. Maybe I can make Noah change his mind too."
"Oh, thank god. Please? Your brother is going to kill me."
"I love you, mom."
"I love you too, Sofia. You gonna win that case. I have faith in you."
"From your mouth to god's ears. Bye." She said as the call ends, someone taps her car window. She rolled it down and gives her suitcase.
"Thanks for picking me up, Daniel." She said.
"Anytime, counselor." He said opening the door for her. "Defense is already inside, then found out the jury's with us, you gonna win this case, Sofia."
"You're the second person who told me that," She said.
"Let me guess; that giving you a little confidence boost?" He asked.
"Oh man, you have no idea," Sofia said walking away.
"You free tonight after this?" Daniel said.
"I'm busy tonight. Gonna pack my bags. Going to Florida tomorrow."
"Oh, I understand. How're your parents anyway?"
"They're good. Noah is driving them both nuts." She said.
"He still going to NYPD?"
"Mom doesn't want to but he's stubborn as hell. I mean, he's old enough to make a decision but I don't want my mom's heart broke again." She said
"Jeez, I can still see your mom's face when she found out Noah got hurt in Afghan," Daniel said
"Me too, That man is numb as hell," Sofia said as they make way into the sea of reporters
"Ms. Stabler, can you tell us about the case?" One reporter asks.
"As of now, I can't tell you about it. The DA's office decided not to make this public. I'm sorry."
"But the people deserve to know the verdict." Another reporter said.
Daniel stepped in "You will be notified but for now, let us try this case in court, not in public. Thank you."
"Let's us also pray that the jury will be with us, The truth is, this case has been a challenge for us so let's wish the justice will be served for all of his victims." She said as she walks inside the building. The reporters want to ask her more questions but the court marshalls barricaded themselves to prevent them from entering the building.
"That was a wild one," Daniel said. "You ready?" He asked. Sofia took a deep breath and nodded. Daniels opened the door. The defense attorney stood up and shook her hand.
"I told myself not to shake the defense hand and yet here I am." She sassed.
"You're feisty. Just like your mom." The attorney said.
"You have no idea."
They went to their respective seat until the judge came out on her chamber.
"All rise."

"A job in New York?"
"DA's office called me. they want me to handle OCU."
"What about your job here in Florida."
"They can kiss my ass."
"Sofia," Olivia said sternly. Sofie sighed "They don't want me anymore."
"No."
"It's the truth mom. I don't like them too anyway."
"Did you tell your dad about this?"
"He went crazy."
"Tell me about it." Olivia sighed. She took her mom's hands "When I have time, I can go visit you both So that Noah can't make you go nuts."
"Speaking of your brother–"
"I will talk to him. Don't worry."
"Talking to him has no use. I just–"
"I understand mom, I understand," Sofia said as her phone rings.
"Looks like they like you still," Olivia smirks. "Go, I'll take care of this."
"Thanks, mom," Sofie said standing up and kiss her mom on her cheek. "Love you."
"I'll never get tired of hearing that!" Olivia said as Sofia ran away.

"Objection! Relevance!" The defense says
"Sustained, answer the question"
Sofia breathed out "Well?" she asked, raising her left eyebrow.
"Yes, Counselor. That is correct." The witness said
"Your honor, this crazy!"
"Sit down, Mr. Minelli or I'll hold you in contempt. Any questions Ms. Stabler?" The judge ask.
"Nothing further." She spoke "Your honor I would like to request a fifteen minute recess before we reach the verdict." She added.
"Granted, Fifteen minute recess. Ms. Stabler come into my chambers too." The judge said hitting the gavel.
"The courtroom went on fire."
"I know that." Sofia said.
"Jury's gonna have their verdict later on."
"I'm confident, Uncle Rafa."
Rafael smiled. "You're literally a Benson-Stabler. How's your mom? Florida is making her at peace?
"You tell me. She still calls me at three o'clock in the morning."
"Can't blame her." Rafael says opening a box of candy.
"I read the case, Uncle." Sofia said.
Rafael Barba just look at her, horrified.
