I do not own Power Rangers: Jungle Fury

Dom and Fran are adorbs.

Places in Books

"Alright, Fran. What do you think?"

Francis Faye Fulgeman blinked heavily, trying to absorb her surroundings.

Twenty four hours ago, she had been relatively contentedly eating a slice of pizza while pretending to read a book while pretending Dom wasn't leaving for probably ever.

Absolutely refusing to admit that she was going to miss him more than mozzarella itself.

That his icy blue eyes warmed her more than accidental dusting of hot chili powder.

That his smile made her forget how awkward and shy and unsure of herself she was all the time.

That he was the only one who didn't dismiss . . .

"Hold down the fort, Frannie!"

. . . her out of all of her friends that she really did know . . .

"Go, go, I got this!"

. . . were her friends.

That he was Dom. And he had saved her from the falling sign and kissed her cheek and shared a slice of pizza and invited her . . .

". . . backpacking across Europe with me?"

. . . on this trip . . .

"Um, yes?!"

. . . in the first place.

And she had gotten so excited trying to remember everything she needed to do at that very moment . . .

"Breathe, Fran!"

. . . that she had almost passed right out.

And then she had . . .

"Uh, how much time do I have? Before we go?"

"About two hours. Sorry. I wanted it to be a surprise."

. . . whirlwinded right through packing and preparing and . . .

". . . note for my roommate Brenda . . ."

". . . voicemail for my mom and Alex . . ."

". . . food to feed the cat until tonight . . ."

". . . toothbrush that doesn't have daisies on it . . ."

. . . thinking the whole time this must be a dream and that she would wake up to the alarm clock and it would be time . . .

". . . -kay, Fran?"

"Yeah, I just have to, uh . . ."

. . . to open the pizza parlor and she would have to pretend it had just all been a silly dream . . .

". . . all these, do you think Europe has laundrymats . . ."

. . . and she wasn't heartbroken over it.

But she had made it and Dom had been patient the whole time and after spending the plane trip pretending not to be doped up on Dramamine . . .

"Sorry, I didn't mean to drool on your shoulder."

"That's okay. It just means you were really relaxed."

. . . Frances Faye Fulgeman had landed in the Brussels airport . . .

". . . bag? Here let me help you."

. . . jumped aboard the train to the city center, . . .

". . . really gonna like it, Fran . . ."

. . . pretending not to be spending the short, rumbling trip with her nose pressed . . .

". . . places in books . . ."

. . . to the already smudged glass . . .

". . . get to see it now, you know?"

. . . of the train window.

She had thought it couldn't get any better than seeing the city blocks amble by.

Look at that! No, look at that! No, look at that-

And now here she was.

Just off the train and already in the middle of the most beautiful city . . .

"-on, I want to show you something."

. . . she had ever seen.

The tall, Gothic buildings, cobblestoned streets.

A bubbling fountain with . . .

Is that Poseiden? Boy, he sure is naked, what's up with that?

. . . ornately carved marble statues all over it.

People casually strolling everywhere like it just wasn't a big deal at all.

And her and Dom . . .

". . . do you think?"

. . . right in the middle of all of it.

And she just could not take it all in.

But she definitely knew . . .

"I . . . I . . . I love it!"

. . . she was going to try her best.

Whelp, never thought I'd write for Power Rangers: Jungle Fury.

But my kids keep watching it and so I'm watching it.

And I have such fond memories of my very long ago summer in Europe that when Dominic invited Fran and she said yes, I thought, yaaaaasssss.

Be forewarned though, this is not a steamy, sex romp through Europe. Honestly, I don't think they're ready for that and I really think Dom just invited her for fun.

There might be a little cheek smooch (remember when Fran nearly passed out from that one?) here and there, maybe a friendly snuggle but that's dead level it.

And no Power Rangering either. I think they beat all the big baddies enough that it's clear this is going to be a time of peace.

So if you're interesting in some good, clean, wholesome European backpacking, please come along and enjoy.

If not, no probs, thanks for reading this little bit and go enjoy whatever you do like to read.

Bye!
