Author's notes:

This is a one-shot short story I wrote about Rory's reunion with Lucifer and Chloe.
I would like to say that this is the first fanfiction I've ever made.
Ever since watching season 6, I kept imagining certain scenes and decided to write them down just for myself. I never thought about posting it.
But as I was writing, I remembered hearing about fanfictions before and, here we are.

I have never really read fanfictions before, or books for that matter (LOL), so I apologize if the way I wrote this is weird.
I don't have any knowledge of the proper format for writing, and in addition to my lack of vocabulary, I still hope I managed to write it the way I imagined it.
They are mostly dialogues, so if it helps try to read it as if you're watching a bonus episode of the tv show. Well, at least that's how I wrote it in my mind.

Summary:

In 4x06 Chloe told Lucifer 15 years ago she starred in hot tub high school. She was 19 when she starred in it based on 1x02, which would make her age 34/35 in season 4 minimum.
Assuming, season 5 takes around a year and season 6 happens six weeks after season 5 based on what Ella says. Chloe should be 35/36 at least and then gave birth to Rory 9 months later.

In 1x01 Trixie was 7, but 8 in 1x02. Chloe worked with Lucifer for 5 years at least so Trixie should be 13 during season 6, and probably 14 minimum when Rory was born which would make them 14 years apart give or take.
Rory is at least older than 20 years old when Chloe passed away.

This story takes place about 2 weeks after Chloe has passed away.
I like to think Rory is in around her mid-thirties, and Trixie is 14 years older than her.
But you guys are free to adjust Rory's and Trixie's age however you like based on the information that was just given, but the main thing is Trixie is still alive.

EPISODE TITLE:

THE MORNINGSTAR

.

Los Angeles, the city of angels. The view of the Hollywood sign, palm trees, and beaches, a bustling city.
An overview of Chloe's apartment, inside it, Rory is seen in the kitchen humming and singing her favourite song, 'Slap' while folding her clothes packing them in a duffel bag.
A DVD box can be seen alongside the folded clothes on the kitchen counter titled 'More Bones'.
She's dressed in a brown leather jacket over a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans with black leather boots, a style similar to her mother's.

As she is packing her bag, she hears knocking on the door.

"Rory! Open up!"

Upon hearing the voice, Rory stops to pack and walks towards the door opening it.

"T! what are you doing here so early?"

The visitor is none other than her sister, Trixie. She's dressed in a dark grey suit and a white shirt, with high heels and a small black handbag strapped over her shoulder.

"Do you have any coffee?" Trixie asks.

"Coffee? Yeah, I do... wait! You came here for coffee?" Rory asks, a little perplexed.

"What? No! I came here to check up on you! But on the way here, I realized I left my coffee at home."

Trixie kisses Rory on the cheek as she lets herself in, heading into the kitchen to brew herself a cup of coffee.

"Check up on me? Couldn't you have just called?" Rory asks while closing the door.

"Can't a big sister come visit her baby sister whenever she wants?" Trixie says, pouting a little.

"Well, yes, you can, but aren't you supposed to be at work? Isn't Space X launching another rocket to Mars in a few months? Shouldn't you be busy doing work stuff?" Rory wonders.

"Oh, it's fine! My team's good enough to handle stuff without me for a little while."
"Besides! It's been almost a week since I last saw you at mom's funeral. I miss my baby sister!" Trixie smiles.
"So, are you sure you don't want to move into my place with me and my family? I don't like the idea of you living here alone, especially ever since mom passed away."

"Yes! I'm sure! Stop worrying about me."

"Really?" Trixie asks, sulking.

"Yes T! I'm fine! Besides, it'll be cool to have the whole place for myself." Rory smiles at her sister to reassure her.

While Trixie is brewing her coffee, she notices Rory's duffel bag.

"What's this? Are you going somewhere?" Trixie points at the duffel bag.

"Yes actually, I am! I'm going to visit mom and my dad." Rory says as she begins to start packing again.

"Oh! You are? Okay." Trixie says nonchalantly.

"That's it? I thought you would have had more to say." Rory, a little confused at her sister's lack of comment.

"I'm actually surprised you haven't gone to visit them a lot sooner after mom passed."

"Well, we were busy with mom's funeral, and then there was the matter regarding her will."
"Besides, I figured mom and my dad could use some time alone together, you know?" Rory tells Trixie.

"God, I still can't believe you're calling Lucifer 'dad'. I remember the mere mention of his name would make you go into a silent rage." Trixie sniggers.

"Yeah..." Rory says, with a wry smile on her face.

"You have no idea how 'Relieved' I am that I don't have to keep it from you anymore!" Trixie says, referring to Lucifer's abandonment.

Rory looks at Trixie for a short while, nervously. "Hey sis, about that, how long... have you known?"

"Well, mom and Lucifer pretty much explained it to me before he left. So, from the very beginning, I guess."
"I mean, they kinda did have to, seeing as I'll be growing up with an angel sister." Trixie chuckles.

"Thx sis, for umm, keeping it a secret... and putting up with me all these years." Rory smiles apologetically, appreciative of what her sister has done for her.

"Anything for my baby sister!" Trixie smiles back at Rory tenderly.
"So! How long are you going to be away? You do remember that next week is your nephew's birthday, don't you?!"

"Yeah, don't worry, I should be back before then."

"Is your girlfriend coming? What was her name again? The brunette you met during Clover's concert." Trixie questions Rory.

"Amber? No! That was months ago. Things didn't work out between us."

"Again? How many times is that now? You know you 'Really' need to do something about your mom-complex."
"No one is ever going to be good enough if you keep comparing them to this perfect image you have of 'mom'!" Trixie nags at Rory.

"What? I do 'NOT' have a mother complex!" Rory scowls, disagreeing with her sister.

"Yeah, 'SURE' you don't." Trixie says sarcastically while sipping her coffee that she finished brewing.

"Alright, I'm done! Let's see... what else did I forget?" Rory looks around the room, making sure she didn't forget anything for her trip.
"Oh! That's right! I almost forgot!"

Rory goes to the living room, picking up a jewelry box from the table. She opens it, revealing a bracelet, and wears it on her wrist while smiling.
Trixie looks at the bracelet.

"Isn't that mom's necklace?" Trixie referring to Chloe's bullet necklace.

"Yup, I found it on mom's nightstand when I was cleaning her room. I made it into a bracelet."

"Wait, why are there two bullets?"

"Oh, the other one's mine! It's the bullet from when I shot my dad with a gun. Mom has been keeping it for me."
"It was in the gift box among other things that she left for me after she passed." Rory smiles while looking at the bullet.

"You shot Lucifer?!" Trixie asks, shocked.

"Yeah, it's from when I... never mind, I'll tell you all about it some other time." Rory zips her duffel bag and carries it, putting it over her shoulder.
"Anyway! I'm going to head off now. Bye!" Rory smiles at her sister.

"What? Already?! I haven't even finished my coffee!"

"Just make sure you lock up when you're done! You still have a spare key, yes?!" Rory yells while heading towards the door.

"Say hi to mom and Lucifer for me! Oh! And tell Lucifer to come to the birthday party too next week!" Trixie shouts.

"Will do!" Rory yells back as she opens the door.

Outside, Rory shrugs her shoulders, bringing out her scarlet red blade wings ready to fly off.

"Hey Rory!" Trixie calls out.

Rory turns her head around to look at Trixie.

"I'm happy for you sis." Trixie says gently, delighted to see her sister happy after finally knowing the truth behind Lucifer's abandonment.

Rory smiles at her sister, "Me too." she replies, before flying off heading towards Hell to meet her parents.

The scene then transitions below into Hell with Rory landing in Hell's corridors.
She retracts her wings and walks with a cheerful smile, excited and eager to see her parents again.

Walking through the corridor gleefully, something in the corner of her eye catches her attention. It was her father's throne.
As she stares at Lucifer's throne, she comes to a halt. The smile on her face disappears, and a frown begins to form.
In silence, she stood frozen, her gaze locked on her father's throne as if time was at a standstill.

She then turns her head around, checking her surroundings as if looking for something, but all there was on either side were just Hell's stone pillars erected at different heights as walls for the many rooms containing Hell's damned souls.

Suddenly a voice calling out to her snaps her out of her daze.

"Excuse me?!"

Rory turns in the direction of the voice calling out to her. It was the same demon that called out to her when she first traveled back in time, the one she called 'Ratchet'.
The only difference is the demon dressed as a police officer instead of a nurse but still covered in blood spatter just like before.

"Oh! It's you! I see you got a career change?" Rory sniggers.

"I know you! You're that angel from before! Are you here to try to destroy Lucifer again?!" the demon asks nervously, cautious of Rory.

"No! I'm not, you can relax! But I am here to see him, do you know where he is? I'm Rory, by the way."

"You're 'RORY'? Lord Morningstar's daughter?!" the demon asks, stunned and gawking.

"The one and only." Rory grins.

"We've all been told about you, if I'm not mistaken he should be at his home right now. Would you like me to show you the way?"

"Sure, that'll be great!"

"Right this way!"

Rory follows the demon, and after a brief period of navigating through Hell's maze.

"Here we are, Lord Morningstar's home!" the demon says, pointing at the door of one of Hell's rooms.

"Okay, Thanks!"

"Glad I could help, but I should be going now, I kinda have to get back to work if you don't mind." the demon tells Rory.

"Oh, yeah sure! Thanks again for the help, and enjoy your... work I guess." Rory replies a little awkwardly.

The demon nods and walks away, leaving Rory alone. Feeling a little hesitant, Rory takes a deep breath to prepare herself and then reaches for the door handle but stops.
She looks at the door and is surprised to see that it is exactly the same front door of Chloe's apartment on Earth.
She chuckles at that realization before proceeding to open the door.

Inside, she finds out that the interior is also the same as Chloe's apartment except for minor differences in the decor.
Delighted at the pleasant surprise, she smiles. After all, it is the place she grew up in with her beloved mother and sister.

She then hears giggling coming from the living room belonging to her parents.

"Oh, Detective!"

Rory, hearing her father's voice, heads to the living room in excitement to greet her parents, only to be shocked at what she would bear witness.
Lucifer is sitting on the couch shirtless, and Chloe is on top of him, wearing his white shirt unbuttoned and her undergarments exposed.
Their noses are touching one another with smiles on their faces as they look into each other's eyes affectionately.

"MOM! DAD!" Rory yells, dropping her bag and quickly turning around, horrified by what she is witnessing.

"RO-RORY!" Lucifer and Chloe both gasping.

Surprised by their daughter's sudden appearance, Lucifer and Chloe started to panic. Chloe quickly jumps off Lucifer and tries to use the couch and the small pillows to cover herself.

"Hey, honey! Wh- What are you doing here?" Chloe asks.

"I came to visit! God! Is this what you guys just do all the time?" Rory yells, still with her back turned.

"Of course not! We were just on a short break from work." Lucifer replies with panic in his voice.

"And why isn't the door locked?!" Rory asks, shouting.

"Well, it's not like we often get visitors down here in Hell, and the demons would always knock first." Lucifer explains.

"Yup, yup." Chloe nods her head repeatedly, her eyes open wide and smiling awkwardly, biting her lower lip.

"Can you guys just please, get dressed?!" Rory pleads with her parents.

"Of course, honey! We'll be right back!"

Chloe picks up both her clothes and Lucifer's and grabs Lucifer's arm as they both hurry into the room nearby and close the door.
Rory breathes a little sigh of relief and slowly turns her head around to make sure she doesn't witness anything traumatic again but only to be surprised once more.

Chloe's living room, where a wall with a backdoor and a window is supposed to be, becomes an opening instead, leading to Lux's penthouse.
Lucifer and Chloe's home in Hell is their two homes connected, just like a hotel's connecting rooms but with the absence of a door.

While looking around at her parents' home interior, she notices a table full of photos and goes to look at it.
It was photos of herself, Trixie, and Chloe. Memories of their life on Earth, the same pictures she has back home on Earth.
While she's looking at the photos, Chloe comes out of the room fully dressed.

"It's so great to see you, honey! I've missed you so much!"

Chloe gives Rory a hug and a kiss on the cheek, which Rory allows with a reluctant face and an awkward smile. After all, she did catch her parents in a compromising situation just moments ago.

"How's your sister?" Chloe asks.

"She's fine. I was just with her earlier before I came here."
"How do you guys have all these photos? I'm pretty sure they're still back home on Earth." Rory asks her mother, confused about the pictures.

"Oh! I would always make copies of whatever pictures and recordings I took of you growing up and us as a family. Then pass them to your uncle Amenadiel so he could give them to your dad."
"I thought that even though he couldn't be there for you growing up, he should still at least be able to see it."

Chloe and Rory look at each other sharing a little smile for a short moment.
Lucifer then comes out of the room all suited up with his classic black and white look with the red pocket square.

"Rory!" Lucifer calls out, a wide grin on his face and his arms wide open expecting his daughter to hug him.

"Yeah, no dad... sorry, not after what I just saw." Rory replies with an awkward grin.

"Ugh! Fair enough." Lucifer groans with disappointment.
"Ro-Rory, I'm sorry I didn't visit you after... your mother insisted we wait and let you come to us instead when you were ready." Lucifer apologizes, referring to Chloe's death.

"It's fine dad, don't worry about it." Rory smiles at Lucifer.

Finally reunited, the three of them look at one another smiling tenderly, it was a heartwarming moment for them.

"So 'this' is your guys' home. It's uh... 'unique'." Rory says, referring to Lux's penthouse and Chloe's apartment being connected.

"Ah! Yes, it was your mother's idea." Lucifer tells her.

"I thought it would make you feel more at 'home', for when you decide to visit." Chloe added.

"You even have your own room! I created it exactly the way your mother remembers it."
"She would sometimes sleep in there whenever she misses you, and I would join her at times." Lucifer smiles.

"You guys have never... in my room... did you?" Rory asks anxiously.

"What?! NO! Of course not! We would never!" Chloe says adamantly, trying to reassure her daughter.

"Oh! Good to know." Rory breathes in relief.
"So, do you guys want to hang out?"

"Honey, you know we'd love to, but as your dad said, we were just on a break. We still have a bit of work to do." Chloe replies.
"But it won't take long, we only have one more therapy session, and a visit to someone's hell loop that just recently arrived here."

"Right! What your mother said. We were planning to have dinner afterwards. So, why don't you just wait here, grab a couple of drinks and relax? We'll be back in no time!" Lucifer smiles.

"What about I just join you guys at work?" Rory asks with a big, wide grin on her face.

"Umm..." Chloe and Lucifer say in unison while looking at each other, befuddled.

.

Lucifer Theme Song plays here.

.

"What? But mom, why not?" Rory asks Chloe.

"Well, it's just, I'm a little worried. Hell loops can be a little... well, 'Hellish'! And therapy sessions are probably going to be boring for you anyway." Chloe explains.

"It's fine mom, I'm an angel! I can take care of myself."

"I know you can honey, it's just..."

"Chloe, it's fine! Our daughter just wants to see her father in action. Besides, it's just one therapy session and a 'visit' there's no harm to it." Lucifer interrupts Chloe.

"See! Besides, dad has control over Hell doesn't he?" Rory says, trying to change her mother's mind.

"That, I most certainly do!" Lucifer smiles.

"Fine!" Chloe sighs, surrendering to her daughter's demand.

"So! First things first, who's our patient this time?" Lucifer asks Chloe.

"Let me see..." Chloe says as she goes to the kitchen and picks up a folder from the kitchen counter.
She opens the folder and flips through the files.

"Oh! It's Pierce! I mean, Cain!"

"Cain! Ugh, just skip him! I'll do his session some other time, 'Alone'!" Lucifer groans, annoyed.

"What? Why?!"

"Wait! Cain? As in aunt Eve's son Cain?" Rory asks her parents.

"Yes! And! Your mother's ex-fiancee! He keeps hitting on her trying to get back with your mother every time we are in session, that slimy weasel!" Lucifer complaining.

"Oh, not this again!" Chloe sighs.

"Mom was engaged to aunt Eve's son?" Rory asks, with an awkward and surprised expression on her face.

"Yes, but only for a short while! I'll tell you about it another time."
"And, for the last time! He was 'not' hitting on me! He's just trying to rile you up." Chloe tells Lucifer.

"Of course you would say that! You're the one he's flirting with!" Lucifer remarks.

"Ugh! Fine, have it your way!" Chloe rolls her eyes.
"You know! I never say 'Anything' when we're in session with one of your 'past' lovers, 'Clearly' trying to get back with you." Chloe grumbles.

"Well, can you blame them? I mean, I am 'ME'!" Lucifer smugs with pride.

Chloe looks at Lucifer, her head slightly tilted sideways, squinting her eyes while giving him a sarcastic smile in response.

"Anyway, it would seem our work has been reduced for us even less. At this rate, we'll be having dinner in no time." Lucifer smiles at Rory, and Rory smiles back at him.
"So! Who's the poor sod we're visiting this time?"

"Well, His name is... William Whisk from Florida." Chloe says while reading the file.

"Ugh!" Lucifer says, feeling nauseated.

"Oh! and he's a priest." Chloe adds.

"Another priest? What's that now? Like the fifth in the last couple of months? Has Amenadiel been slacking on the job? Probably spending too much time with Charlie again." Lucifer asks Chloe.

"Anyway, based on the report Belios made, it seems he was an alcoholic before and got into a car accident, killing a family of four while driving home drunk."
"After that, he quit drinking, decided to turn to God, and became a priest a few years later where he lived in a small church ever since." Chloe explains.

"And I thought living in Florida couldn't get any duller." Lucifer says.

"But it seems that over the years, he would often wake up in the middle of the night because he would have nightmares of the accident." Chloe continues to explain.
"And one night, after one of his recurring episodes, he decided to make some tea to calm himself but fell asleep, leaving the kettle on which then caught on fire."
"He woke up during the fire, but it was too late... he was trapped. And the fire burned down the church he was living in alongside him."

"Oh, talk about Holy Smokes!" Lucifer grins, making a pun.

"If only 'Whisk' had a 'whiskey' or two, probably would have solved his sleeping problem and wouldn't have been snuffed out." Rory adds, joining in on the joke.

"Oh, very good!" Lucifer and Rory chuckle together, both of them grinning from ear to ear.

"Guys! Really?!" Chloe gives Lucifer and Rory a disapproving look.

"Sorry..." Lucifer and Rory both apologize, their grins disappear and an apologetic expression is seen instead on both their faces.

"Anyway! Shall we, ladies?"

Lucifer heads to the door opening it, then raises his hand to give way for Chloe and Rory like the gentleman he is.
As they exit their home and back in the corridors of Hell, Lucifer proceeds to slightly raise his head upwards and close his eyes for a little while before opening them again.

"Alright! I have the priest's location."

Lucifer then brings out his wings and smiles at Chloe, "My Lady." he says.

Chloe returns his smile before jumping into his arms, ready to be carried away into the skies.
They then both turn to look at Rory, who smiles back at them and proceeds to bring her out wings too.

"Who would have guessed? That our first time together flying as a family would be in Hell?"

Chloe and Rory laugh at Lucifer's joke.
With smiles on their faces, Lucifer and Rory both fly upwards into the dark skies of Hell with Chloe in Lucifer's arms.

After a short while, they land in front of William's hell room. Lucifer lets Chloe down and retracts his wings, Rory doing the same.

"So, what do you guys 'actually' do on these 'visitations'?" Rory asks.

"Well, we pretty much just introduce ourselves, break the bad news to them, and then we schedule a therapy session." Lucifer explains.

"Yes, however, they don't usually handle the revelation very well. So we usually have to calm them down so they can process it." Chloe adds.

"Although in rare cases, they would break down mentally, which your mother and I will then have to sort of fix, which could take a while. So fingers crossed, he's not one of them."
"Right! Let's get this done and over with, shall we?."

Lucifer opens the door to William's hell room and the three of them enter.
They find themselves in a desolated road junction in the middle of a city during nighttime.

Right in the middle of the intersection, they see two cars wrecked from colliding into one another and shattered glass all over the ground.
Near the wrecked vehicles, William Whisk is kneeling on the ground sobbing, with his hands covering his ears.
Circling him was an adult man and woman, a young boy and a girl in her teens standing while staring at William with their clothes tattered, injuries all over their bodies and blood covering them.
It was the family that died in the tragic car accident, whispering to William.

"You did this..."
"It hurts..."
"Why...?"
"This is your fault..."
"I don't want to die..."
"Mommy..."
"Murderer..."

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to do it..." William whispers to himself.
"Please stop... someone make them stop please..."

William cries out, begging and sobbing on the ground covering his ears, an attempt to block out the whispers, afraid to look up at the faces of the people whose lives he ended.
Seeing someone tortured is an arduous scene to watch, especially for Chloe and Rory, good-natured as they are.

Chloe, heartbroken by what she's witnessing, tugs at Lucifer's arm.
Lucifer looks at Chloe and nods as he then raises his arm and waves his hand in the air.
The family standing over William begins to walk backwards, away from the priest while turning into ashes disappearing like dust in the wind.

Lucifer walks up to the priest, Chloe and Rory following behind him.

"Hello, William." Lucifer calls out.

The priest slowly raises his head and sees Lucifer.

"Who are you? Please! You have to help me! I can't make them go away! You have to help me, please..." William begs Lucifer.

"It's fine, William. They're gone now."

William looks around him while shaking, afraid to see the ghosts that haunt him.

"Whe-Where did they go...? They were just here. It was like... I was in an endless nightmare..."

"Well, you're not exactly wrong about that. Anyway, let me introduce myself. I am Lucifer Morningstar! This is my partner Chloe! And our daughter Rory!"
"Now, there is no easy way to say this, but 'you' father, are currently in Hell! But no worries! 'We' are here to help you." Lucifer smiles as he helps William get up on his feet.

"Hell? No, that can't be right... I must be dreaming... I'm probably in one of my nightmares again. I need to wake up!"

"Father, I know this is hard to process... but it's the truth. You recently died in a fire, and I am sorry to say this... but your soul is currently in Hell." Chloe tells the priest.

"No! It can't be! It's a dream! It has to be!" William says, in denial.

"I assure you father, it isn't." Lucifer says as he raises his hand.

Lucifer then snaps his fingers, and the family that William killed reappears behind him.
William turns around only to be petrified by fear again but only for a short moment, as Lucifers snaps his fingers again to make them disappear once more.

"What? Ho-How did you do that?" William asks surprised.

"The perks of being the ruler of Hell!" Lucifer smirks.

"I'm in hell...?" William asks, in a daze and state of confusion that did not last very long as his face changed from one of confusion to one of realization.
"Yo-You said... Lucifer? Yo-You're the Devil..." William says with a shaky voice.

"Finally! It seems we're on the same page now." Lucifer grins, excited that he finally got through to the priest.

"You're the Devil... YOU'RE THE DEVIL!" William shouts in extreme horror.

Realizing Lucifer's identity, William starts to panic as he falls to the ground on his back and tries to distance himself from Lucifer.

"Ugh, not this again..." Lucifer groans as he rolls his eyes in response to William's behaviour and turns to Chloe.
"You know, I really need to talk to my brother about changing my image and portrayal back on Earth! It will make my job in Hell... well, a 'hell' lot easier." Lucifer whines to Chloe.

"That's gonna be quite tough, seeing how there's a rise in satanic cults in recent years." Rory tells her father.

"Oh! I was wondering why there were more of them lately. Is there any particular reason for that?"

"Yeah, they made a movie about you. It was 'Very' popular, but it inspired certain people in the wrong way."

"Really? What's it about?" Lucifer asks, smiling excitedly.

"Well, in the movie, you were this powerful, evil angel-monster hell-bent on turning Earth into Hell, spreading chaos, and you know, the usual."
"Until God decided to send the archangel Michael, who is the protagonist, to stop you. Which he can only do by finding the Spear of Destiny with the help of seven special humans."
"It's actually a pretty cool movie. I really enjoyed it. You should watch it too!" Rory smiles.

"I will do no such thing! I mean, Michael?! Really?! And you enjoyed it?" Lucifer says, infuriated.
"Clearly, you got your terrible taste in movies from your mother! 'WE' are going to have to fix that when we get home!" Lucifer tells Rory sternly.

"Guys! Is this really the time to have this conversation right now?!"

Chloe, tight-lipped and her eyes wide, stares at Lucifer and Rory while nodding her head in William's direction, trying to tell Lucifer to focus on the task at hand.

"Right... Where were we? Ah, that's right." Lucifer turns his attention to William, who is still on the ground shaking in fear.
"William, you needn't be scared... I'm not here to hurt you. As I said earlier, I'm here to help you." Lucifer tries to calm the priest.

"No! You're lying! You're here to torture me! You're the Devil!" William cries out.

"No, William... in Hell, you are tortured by your own guilt, and it will continue to be so unless you are able to deal with it." Lucifer explains calmly.

"Lies! You're trying to trick me! It's what you do! You tempt us into sin! This is all your fault! You made me do this!"

Rory, taken aback by the priest's accusation towards Lucifer, begins to scowl.

"You're the reason they're dead! You did this! It wasn't me! It was you!" William continues to shout.

"Hey! My father didn't do a thing! Stop blaming him for the shitty choices 'YOU' made!" Rory tells the priest, glaring at him and anger in her tone.

"No! It has to be him! He made me do this!"

"I told you... to stop, 'BLAMING' HIM!" Rory yells furiously at the priest, enraged.
She grits her teeth and brings out her wings, and starts walking up to William.

"Rory!" Lucifer and Chloe call out to their daughter.

Lucifer rushes and puts himself in between the priest and his daughter.

"Rory, stop! This is not how we do things."

"Dad! He's blaming you for the things he did when all you've been trying to do is help him!"

"Yes! But he's just afraid at the moment. You just have to give him some time..." Lucifer tells Rory.

"Honey..." Chloe calls out to her daughter, a worried expression on her face.

Lucifer's and Chloe's worried faces somehow stop Rory in her tracks, calming her anger.
Rory then looks at William, curled up on the ground in tears and trembling in fear.
As Rory stares at the helpless priest, the rage begins to disappear from her face.

"I'm done here!" Rory says as she turns around and heads towards the door.

"Rory, wait!" Lucifer calls out to her.

Rory ignoring Lucifer's call, opens the door and lets herself out from William's hell loop.
Lucifer tries to follow her, but Chloe stops him.

"Lucifer! Let me go check on her, why don't you... just continue and finish things in here?"
"And when you're done, Rory and I will meet you back at home, okay?" Chloe persuades Lucifer.

Although reluctant, Lucifer nods at Chloe and agrees to her request. Chloe then heads out to find her daughter.

In the corridors of Hell, Rory is sitting down on one of the stone pillars, her gaze transfixed on her father's throne and a tear rolling down her cheek.
Chloe then appears, slowly walking towards her from behind.

"Hey, honey..." Chloe calls out to Rory as she sits beside her daughter.

Rory, aware of her mother's presence, quickly wipes off her tear and tries to look away from Chloe as if trying to hide the fact.

"Are you okay...?" Chloe asks softly, with a tiny gentle smile as if trying to comfort Rory.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Chloe knows her daughter isn't fine at all but chooses to remain silent. Until she notices Rory's bracelet.

"I like your bracelet." Chloe tells Rory.

"Oh! I hope you don't mind I made it into a bracelet."

"No, I think it looks great on you." Chloe smiles at Rory.

They then return to another moment of silence, cut short, however, by Rory.

"Mom..."

"Yes, honey?"

"Do you think it was a mistake...?"

"What do you mean?" Chloe asks, a little puzzled by the question.

"Back when I thought dad abandoned me, abandoned us... I hated him for it, a lot..." Rory says with a pained look on her face.
"But the real reason I hated him so much... was because of the stories I would hear about him growing up... everyone seemed to have stories about him, except me... it made me jealous, and angry..."
"Uncle A would tell me how spoiled and rebellious dad was and how he always had to clean up after dad's mess... "
"Aunt maze would tell me stories of all the troubles they would get up to and cause...Even aunt Eve, aunt Ella, and aunt Linda had stories about him, how funny and weird he was." Rory chuckles.
"And from you... how caring and loving he can be, and how much you loved him..." Rory smiles a little, but still with a painful look in her eyes.
"Because of those stories, I never thought he abandoned us at first... I thought he was out there somewhere, doing I don't know... something important."

Seeing Rory so emotional, Chloe holds her daughter's hand in an attempt to comfort her.

"Mom, do you remember how we would spend my birthdays when I was younger?"

"Of course! I would buy a small chocolate cake because your big sis would always 'insist' on it." Chloe replies.
"She was trying to make you like chocolate cakes too as part of her plan, so she gets to eat more." Chloe chuckles.
"Then the three of us would gather in the kitchen, lighting the candles, and when I would ask you to close your eyes and make a wish."
"'YOU'...! With a big smile on your face. Would always ask us to close our eyes and join you in making a wish. You were so adorable! I would 'NEVER' forget that!"

Chloe and Rory laugh softly together, both of them reminiscing over the heartwarming memory they shared.

"But, the thing is... when we were wishing together."

A flashback scene happens. (In slow motion)

Chloe, Trixie in her twenties, and a very young Rory are in the kitchen celebrating Rory's birthday.
With smiles full of joy on their faces, the three of them are holding each other's hands and closing their eyes to make their wishes.
While all their eyes were closed together, young Rory is seen slowly opening her eyes.

"I would secretly open my eyes and look at the front door..." A young Rory turns her head towards the door.
"And I would stare at the handle, thinking it would turn... the door opening, and Dad would walk in... and we would celebrate together, as a family."

The door handle, however, does not turn as the door remains shut.

A second flashback scene happens. (In slow motion)

It's Christmas. Rory, Chloe, and Trixie are sitting in a decorated living room celebrating.
Rory and Trixie laugh with happiness as they open their Christmas gifts and Chloe watches them while smiling, sitting on the couch.

"Even on Christmas, I would also do it, hoping..." Young Rory turns her head again to look at the door, but like before, the door handle remains still, and the door, closed.

"Sometimes I would even stare at it on a random day..."

A third flashback scene happens.

Rory is standing still in the living room, facing the front door. The glass pane on the door and the sidelight would indicate the time of day, as it changes from night to morning, then evening, and night again, but the door remains shut through it all.

"And as days, weeks... and years would pass... all the birthdays, the Christmas..."
"Staring at a door that would never open... the pain and anger building up inside... I decided to stop."

The scene changes back to Rory and Chloe still sitting down in the corridors of Hell, and tears are welling up in Rory's eyes.

"I couldn't bear it any longer... I was convinced, all the stories I've heard were just lies. Because if they were true, then he would have been in my life... our lives..."
"I decided that I don't need him in my life, that he didn't deserve to be part of our lives... It was then the mere mention of dad's name would boil the rage inside of me..."

Seeing Rory in pain and tears welling up her eyes, Chloe kisses her daughter's head from the side and gently strokes her back, trying to soothe her.

"But Honey... now that you know about everything. It's all fine, isn't it? We can be a family now, can't we?" Chloe asks.

"Yeah, we can..."

"Why do I sense a 'but' in there..?"

"It's just when I first traveled back... I ended up here in Hell, and I sat right there on dad's throne..." Rory says as she gazes upon Lucifer's throne.
"All I could think about was plotting my revenge, and ways to hurt dad... to make him feel what I felt..."
"But coming back here, and seeing this place... and that throne... a thought crossed my mind."
"That even though everything is fine now, I can still remember the pain and rage that I felt... and as painful as it was, I did still have a life on Earth..." Rory shows a glimmer of a smile.
"I was still able to smile... because I had you and T by my side... and everyone else, including that snob Charlie." Rory chuckles at the end about the Charlie remark.

"But dad..." Rory's voice cracked as she shed tears, still looking at her dad's throne.
"He went through what I did, didn't he...? But worse, and for far longer... alone, in here surrounded by humanity's worst... blamed and hated for things he didn't even do..."

"Well, he had your aunt Maze." Chloe says with a tiny grin, hoping to console and cheer up Rory.

"Yeah, but aunt maze told me that back then, their relationship was more of a servant and a ruler, and dad was already here way before he even met her..."
"I can't even begin to imagine... what he had to go through..." Rory looks down, her tears falling on the ground.
"The reason I was so angry with that priest, earlier. Was because I realized that just like him... all I did was blame dad for the pain I felt and lashed out on him..."
"And now, I can't stop wondering if I made a mistake... asking you and dad to do what you guys did... forcing him down here, alone... reliving his worst nightmares... all because of my own selfishness."

Chloe's heart aches from seeing her daughter's anguish. She ponders for a short while, then speaks.

"Have I ever told you about how I met your father?" Chloe asks.

"Yeah, it was because of a case. A shooting near Lux, where a friend of dad, was killed..." Rory replies, sniffling as she wipes her tears.

"That's right, it was the beginning of our partnership."
"You wouldn't 'be-lieve' how obnoxious and self-centered he was, 'ALWAYS' insensitive and oblivious to other people's feelings and just does whatever he wants."
"Ugh, I couldn't stand him at first!" Chloe grins, remembering their first meeting.
"He was so bad at dealing with emotions back then. I mean, you should know! You've read Linda's book." Chloe chuckles.

"But then I saw a glimpse of the pain he hides... it's probably why your dad was the way he was, as means of protecting himself, and to avoid dealing with the pain."
"And, working with him, I was able to see him change, to grow... and how surprisingly caring he can be."
"Supposedly, he changed after he met me, based on what your uncle Amenadiel told me. Something about me being put in your dad's path by God as part of a plan." Chloe says with a hint of annoyance in her tone.

"Yea, I remember... something about how you're the only one immune to dad's mojo?"

"Yes, but I like to think it was because your dad likes me. I 'AM' his first love after all." Chloe smirks, and Rory chuckles at her mother's joke while still emotional.
"But seeing what your dad does here, and something else your uncle told me. Made me think... what if? He was put in my path the same way I was put in his?"

"What do you mean?"

"You see, meeting your father also changed me."
"Back then, it was a pretty dark time for me, to be honest."
"I was separated from your sister's father, Dan, your big sister was still so young then... and 'Everyone' hated me at work."
"So, there I was... a failed marriage, a single mom... and my career at the risk of being in ruins."
"As strong as I tried to be... it was a very difficult time for me. I felt, alone... then I met your dad." Chloe grins.
"And before I noticed, I started depending on him... relying on him. I wasn't alone anymore... because of him I was able to smile and enjoy work."

"What did uncle A tell you?" Rory asks.

"Your dad's other name." Chloe replies, smiling at Rory.

"Dad has another name?"

"Samael."

"Sa.. ma-el?"

"The Lightbringer... It's beautiful, don't you think?"

-
The scene then changes to a bird's eye view of Hell. Its endless horizon, spanning its many rooms and corridors like an endless maze.

"That even in the darkest of places... where one feels lost... in pain... and alone. That, there is still someone trying to help you..."
"To tell you that there is still hope... a better tomorrow... a guiding light... and all you have to do is look up, at the sky..." Chloe looks upwards.

And before Chloe finishes her sentence, a shot of Lucifer's throne is shown viewed from below.
The dark and bleak skies of Hell looming over it swirling, like a dreadful maelstrom, except for its center, which hangs directly above the throne.
A circular clearing, and pouring out of it like rain, a calming soothing light as if to wreathe and engulf the throne in it.

"To see the Morningstar..."
-

The scene changes back to Chloe and Rory, Rory looks at her mother and sees her smiling while looking at Lucifer's throne. Chloe then turns to look at Rory.

"You know, when I started working here with your dad, I went through what you're going through right now."
"I kept imagining what his life was like here before, what he went through... It's why I was a little hesitant earlier when you wanted to join us."
"Maybe we did make a mistake not breaking the loop, maybe things would have been better, we'd probably never know."
"But what I do know! Is that I'm happy right now. Helping the people here with your dad, just like how he helped me..."
"And if someone were to tell me that I could change the past, so he wouldn't have to suffer everything he had to... I don't think I would."
"Because if your dad didn't go through what he did, then I would probably have never met him... and I wouldn't have met you..."
"Selfish aren't I?" Chloe asks Rory while smiling.

Rory, understanding the parallel on what her mother is trying to tell her, smiles with tears welling up her eyes and replies "Yeah...".

Chloe then puts both her hands on Rory's cheeks, and she leans in so both their foreheads will meet.

"So believe me when I tell you... that if you ask your dad whether or not he would change things."
"He would tell you what you once told him... 'That you can't change anything, don't change me."
"And knowing your dad, if you or anyone tries to, he would probably start another rebellion!" Chloe and Rory both laugh.
"Because 'You' honey... are the reason why he found purpose in his life... and 'proof' of me and your dad's love."

Rory, feeling a weight lifted off her shoulders, shows a beaming smile on her face as tears roll down her cheeks.
Chloe gently wipes her daughter's tears off and then kisses Rory on the forehead.
Rory then hugs her mother tightly, and Chloe returns her hug with a warm embrace, stroking her daughter's head.

"Besides, can you imagine how many siblings you'd have if your dad had stayed? I probably wouldn't have been able to do my job at all."

Chloe tells another joke, and Rory chuckles while sniffling in her embrace.
After a short while, they let go of each other's embrace, and Chloe holds Rory's hands.

"Now, your dad should almost be done soon. What do you say if we head back home and prepare dinner?" Chloe asks, smiling.

"Sure!" Rory replies with a smile.

They both got up and started walking.

"Hey, mom, tell me some more stories about you and dad." Rory asks eagerly.

"Hmmm... did you know? When I found out your dad was the devil, I ran to Europe for a month?"

"Really?" Rory asks, shocked but grinning.

"Yeah, and when I came back to LA, I actually almost poisoned your dad!" Chloe tells Rory, laughing.

They are both seen linking their arms together, laughing and smiling while talking in the corridors of Hell, heading towards home.
The scene then zooms out into the distance, as their voices become inaudible whispers.

We return to their home in Hell. Chloe and Rory are seen in the kitchen of Chloe's apartment, preparing dinner.

"Right, the salad is done! Burgers and Fries are being heated, now all we have to do... is to set up the table. C'mon!."

As Chloe and Rory begin to set up the table, Rory speaks up.

"Hey, mom..."

"Yes, honey?"

"Would you be upset? If I changed my last name to Morningstar?" Rory asks a little nervously.

Chloe, a little surprised by her daughter's question, smiles at Rory. "'Aurora Morningstar'... I think it sounds perfect!"

"Really?"

"Yeah." Chloe nods.

"Besides! Your dad and I have been discussing, that umm... when your sister gets to heaven, that it would be a good time for me to become 'Mrs Morningstar'."
"What do you think?" Chloe asks, grinning.

Rory looks at her mother in astonishment, her eyes widen, and then a large grin begins to form on her face "I think I'll be looking forward to it." she replies.

Smiles on both their faces, they continue to set up the table.

"Oh! I almost forgot! The wine!" Chloe utters.
"Why don't you finish setting up the table, and I'll go grab the wine."

"Okay!" Rory replies.

Chloe walks away from the kitchen while Rory continues to set up the table.

But as she is setting up the table, her movements begin to slow down until it comes to a halt.
Frozen still, staring at the table in silence, Rory slowly lifts her head to look across her.
She is staring at the front door, Chloe's apartment front door.

The exact door that her younger self would stare at in the past while hoping her father would show up.
And just like before, she is staring at it again, her eyes filled with longing.

The scene changes to a closeup of the door, as it slowly zooms in on the door handle until it is the only thing to be seen.
The door handle then turns, and as you hear the sound of it, the door opens slightly, and the screen goes black.

Author's notes:

So, this is it! Thank you for reading! And I hope you guys enjoyed it!
I know I didn't go into details about all the other characters, but I sort of did that intentionally.
I prefer to leave it open-ended so you guys can sort of, imagine it for yourselves.
I felt that it would have been longer unnecessarily and wanted to focus more on the reunion instead.

By the way, their first flight as a family might actually have been after Vincent Le Mec's whole kidnapping ordeal, which was never clearly shown.
If that is the case, treat this as their first family flight in hell, or their first flight reunion. *smiley face*

I'm aware there are mixed feelings about the ending of season 6. I personally still loved it, even though I can kind of understand that people consider the drama and angst to be unnecessary.
But I think it was still beautifully done, and also because I love the character, Rory. After all, she's Deckerstar's child and like Lucifer said, the best of both of them.
I also think most people originally liked the show because of all the pain and sacrifice Lucifer makes anyway, so it wouldn't be right if there were no angst for the last season. Maybe... (LOL)

I like to think that them keeping the time loop intact was actually them breaking a worse fate that was in store for them. Of course, that is purely based on my take on how time travel works in the show.
I'm assuming there is only one timeline and the past can be rewritten, seeing as how Rory tells them not to change anything, afraid she'll become someone else.
So in my head, there should be an original timeline where she hasn't timed traveled before, and I think things went badly.

Things Rory affected:

- Bringing Dan to Earth, where he would help Chloe get closure, and Lucifer helping Dan to free himself of his guilt by talking to Trixie.
- Lucifer finds out about Chloe's addiction to the necklace and brings Azrael's blade back to heaven.
- Inadvertently helped Maze deal with her fear of becoming her mother.
- Helped Lucifer understand his emotion and syncing it with his subconscious, making him realize he didn't want to be God which then made Amenadiel decide to be God.
- Helped Lucifer realize his calling.

Things that would still have happened (maybe):

- Chloe would still be pregnant with Rory.
-
Lucifer not wanting to be God subconsciously.
- Angels would still cause all the weird disturbances on Earth meaning Vincent Le Mec would still have gotten out and tried to get revenge on Lucifer.

I might have missed some things but with that information, I leave you guys with your imagination to interpret how things could have been worse.

In my head, Le Mec gets out and plots his revenge, kidnapping pregnant Chloe or maybe newborn Rory.
Lucifer probably then gets killed by Le Mec somehow and goes to Hell, trapped by the guilt of leaving his family. Or maybe worse, Le Mec gets hold of Azrael's blade and kills Lucifer with it.

Rory then grows up and gets revenge which caused her to turn into a monster, which she regrets, and is probably why and when she time traveled for the first time to change her past and save her father.
Some other stuff also happens in my head, but it's something along these lines.

So anyway, for those of you who hated season 6, I hope this fanfiction or at least the little bit of information I left you guys with can be a sort of a 'salve' to soothe your hatred and anger. (LOL)
I apologize for the lengthy note, so I'm just going to end it here.

Thank you again for reading, and best wishes to you all!
