Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, time for another story, this one about Heavy Object. Enjoy the 800- word chapter. I don't own Heavy Object, Kazuma and a few others do.

Every war needed soldiers, even ones where conventional weapons were basically worthless.

That didn't mean people gave up, it didn't mean they didn't try.

"So… first day?" One of the soldiers asked another, the other nodded and hummed, tapping on his phone the entire time.

Even if they were cleared for combat? One of the soldiers had a job as an adjutant, an assistant to a superior officer… basically a military secretary. It bothered him, yes, but those were orders, and it was a lot better then what he dealt with before.

"Yep." A very simple response, one who got a hum from the first soldier as the second one put his phone away and looked up with interest.

"You like talking, I'm guessing? You've been busy making small talk with everyone here in the last 10 minutes ago. I'm going to guess your nervous, your busy making small glances around the room, always switching glances around the room." The first soldier heard from the second.

This caused him to blink, the second soldier continued with sheer amusement.

"Sorry, ive been told I take a keen interest in minute details. I usually can't stop unless I'm focused on something to the point where it takes up the majority of my attention. It's not something I really understand." The second soldier looked up at the roof.

An Information Kingdom soldier? What was one doing all the way here? or did he transfer? People were still finding their footing in the new world order, it seemed.

"Sage Gryffyth

by the way... 568." He hummed and want back to his phone, disinterested in the conversation at the moment.

Sage always changed topics he found boring. He didn't really show much interest in much but knowledge. It was so hard to tell nowadays if he was born to enjoy such an interest or if it was such a result of training.

He supposed it didn't really matter. He had picked his side and he refused to change sides otherwise.

"James… you've been glued to that phone for a while now." James stated as Sage shrugged.

Such a simple gesture, and yet so much history behind it. he hummed, purely interested in both topics now.

"Sorry, I've been busy trying to look up details on what I'm going to be doing… it doesn't seem like I have much combat duties at the moment… very interesting it seems when it comes down to it." Sage clicked a few more buttons and then put his phone back into his pocket and looked at James.

"So, what is your role currently? Combat? Scout? They planning to use you for bait for a mission?" Sage asked James who raised an eyebrow.

There was no ill intent behind the gesture, it was clearly curious. Sage knew better then to sound like he was a sadist or such.

"Oh, combat. What about you? you don't sound like your heading to the front lines at the moment." James got a chuckle from Sage who blew a few stands of his blue hair out of his face.

It made him all the more interested in just why they would assign a captain to desk duty. That rank didn't really consign well to desk jobs because they lacked the experience to handle leadership roles.

He planned on asking that when he arrived. It was a very simple question that at the very least. Sage figured it would matter when he got there at least to explain why he was needed to be there. It made many more questions he didn't have answers to.

It at the very least made him curious as to what exactly his information abilities were needed for. He leaned back in his seat, wondering when they'd arrive at their destination.

"Do you know the commander is really terrifying? She can make you linger on every little word she states." James stated, this caused Sage to look at him with pure confusion.

That was who he was assigned to help with… if she had problems like that? it just, made things a lot more interesting.

Their craft continued towards their destination, both had their own destinies, but both were destined to be friends.

And Sage was in for a lot more than he bargained for.
