Cat's Eye
Chapter one
He wasn't able to control his emotions right now with wanting to jump off the George Washington Bridge. Doctor Samauls Saul age 31 didn't know what was causing the pain through his veins. He did know that a needle was placed in his arm while waiting for his associate to come back from rounds at the Manhattan Medical Center. The both residents having been studying in the Cardiac unit and other departments as per their training.
Doctor Saul had climbed over the metal barrier in order to over look the Hudson river. He was with a great deal of fear looking down into the deep dark murky waters. He screamed out in desperation that someone had done this to him.
While the police sirens could be heard trying to get through the traffic over the lower lever of the bridge. He cried out "PLEASE HELP ME!" As the visions of a Cat's eye keep coming at him. He doesn't know why this particular vision after being afraid of the felines over the years as with dogs of all shapes and sizes.
He was shaking with some type of a spasm throughout his entire body still wearing his doctor's smock from the hospital after missing his associate inside his quarters. He had sat down on the grey small couch in his quarters, when he felt someone hit him over the head to knock him out, and then inject him with a drug before dragging his body out without being noticed by the security cameras or guard in the hospital.
The next thing he had woken up to find himself inside his vehicle on the lower level of the George Washington bridge and high as a kite from something that was injected into his vein on the arm. He forced himself out of the grey station wagon to check where he was exactly located placing his legs over the barrier to look down.
Three police vehicles arriving to the scene had to stop traffic on both sides to cause a massive traffic jam for miles until they knew the situation. Captain Saunders with the Metro security police for the bridge didn't know what to think after 15 years with the department. His partner a young woman named Darleen Alberts had gotten out to see if she would be able to talk him down from jumping.
"Sir, I am Darleen. I am here to try and help you out as to why you want to jump." She tried to move in closer to him before he suffered with a spasm throughout his body to indicate to her that he might be a druggie of sorts and headed back to the captain to let him know.
"We need to get him back over the barrier before we really have a nightmare on our hands." He stated with taking off his blue cap and rub the back of his neck stressed out.
"Yeah I know Captain. He will either jump or decide to need the help with moving back over the barrier." She will manage to say before it was just too late as Doctor Saul jumped with Darleen out in horror with this being the first time for her to see this.
The body was down below some where and will no doubt be found at a later date. Captain Saunders needed to console her with needing some type of therapy in order to discuss the event in her mind.
Captain Kate Beckett having just arrived back from meeting with the police commissioner over the latest budget for her department. She saw Esposito and Ryan back at their computer terminals after working in the field on different cold cases. Detective Kevin Ryan was chewing on an red apple with not having the chance to have lunch. It was the same for Sergeant Javier Esposito working hard the past few weeks on the different murder cases to close them.
She shook her head at the scene since there was nothing to say to them. She walked slowly to her office door when the cell phone in her grey pant pocket started to vibrate. She quickly walked into her office seeing that it was her husband Richard Castle calling from out west promoting a new book series for Black Pawn publishing called "Cat's Eye." She sat down in the chair behind her desk to turn on the speaker.
"Rick, how are you? I have been missing you a great deal the past two weeks with you on the promoting tour." She stated with emotion in her demeanor and voice.
"I am tired Kate, I am glad their is just a few more days left for the tour, I will be flying to Buffalo, New York later this evening for the final leg of the tour. What's been going on with yourself and the three monsters?" As he would say on occasion for when it comes to his brew.
"It's been rather boring the past two weeks with the cases. I just came back from a meeting in regard to the budget of the department. Otherwise our brew is anxious to see their father back home along with goodies since you did promised them." She smirked slightly even though her comment was just to play with him over the phone.
"Listen Kate, I need to end this now with needing to finish up with my packing. I will try to call you tomorrow before or after the speech with the other publishers. I love you, Kate. Please take care of yourself." He replied from the bedroom of his Michigan hotel room set up by his ex wife and publisher.
"I love you as well Rick, just be careful. Talk to you soon." She ends the call when all of a sudden her office phone began to ring as she goes to pick it up coming from the harbor coast guard. "This is Captain Kate Beckett of the 12th precinct, how can I help you?"
"This is Captain Jake Morrison of the harbor coast guard down by the first street harbor. We found a body laying face down, we need a team of your detectives to find out what the heck is going on. I had heard from a report from the George Washington Bridge security that someone had jumped off the bridge."
"Ok Captain, I will send a team as with myself to check out the scene. Maybe we might have a murder of some sorts on our hands." She stated with her heart and blood pressure already rising after a boring past few weeks...
"Good enough. We will stay in the area until you arrive to the scene and make sure to have the coroner on the scene?" He replied with energy in his demeanor and voice heavy after a already long day for him and his group.
