A few days had passed, and Erin had not begun her paper. She was staring at her laptop watching the cursor continue to flash. She had just eaten dinner by herself as her mother was working late on a case. She looked at her violin laying on her chair. Erin had not revealed to anyone that she played the violin. It was something she wanted to keep to herself. The memories of her recitals and rehearsing while her dad worked were still fresh in her head. There was some form of guilt beginning to form in the pit of her stomach. She also felt the anxiety of her unfinished paper beginning to brew. She had the weekend to finish it and boy was she was experiencing writer's block. Erin got up from her computer desk and walked over to her violin. She sat down and began to play.

Brennan and Booth did have an active case, but they were not working late. They initially started working on the case, but they began to drink and enjoy each other's company. Booth had his arm over Brennan's shoulder, their heads were leaned up against each other. "Bones, would you like to come on a date with me tomorrow? You and Me. I'll pick you up at 7?" he asked in his husky voice. Brennan's smile grew even wider than it already was, she held up her beer to look at it, "Wouldn't this count as a date? We did eat dinner." she said, chuckling, Booth shook his head and swallowed his beer. "No, not a date at all. I'm taking you out on a real date." he said. Brennan smiled and turned to face him, "Okay, then. I don't know what that means. But yes. I will go on a date with you tomorrow." Booth was watching her with his big brown eyes. He leaned in and so did he. Their lips joined and they shared a kiss. The kiss deepened and it was obvious they wanted to jump into bed together. But they both decided to stop. "Bones, not yet. Trust me, I really want to. But, not like this." Booth said, attempting to catch his breath. Her scent made him dizzy and the fact that he was finally able to kiss her, like that. He was winded. Bones face was flushed, her lips, red and a tad swollen. She always knew Booth was a fine man with a lionheart. But being able to experience him in this way made her head spin. She nodded, "I agree. I also would really like to engage in this unspoken act," she said laughing. Booth laughed and accepted Brennan's playful push on the shoulder. "I'm going to make us some coffee. I have to sober you up before taking you back to Erin. I don't want her mad at me." Booth said while standing up. Brennan laughed, "She isn't going to be mad at you, Booth." she said while lying on the couch.

Erin's laptop screen had gone to sleep as she was still playing her violin. She decided to stop and put her violin away. "This damn paper." She uttered as she placed her violin in her case and slid it under her bed. She brought her laptop to her bed and decided to write out some thoughts. To at least have some direction to go in. 'How would my dad perceive me?' she asked herself as she looked at her screensaver. It was a picture of herself and her father. Erin heard the door open and heard her mother, "Erin, I'm home!" she yelled. She smiled to herself, "Hi, mom! I'm in my room." Erin yelled. Brennan walked into Erin's room, she was smiling, and totally glowing. Erin smiled at this sight. "Hi, honey. Are you doing homework?" Brennan asked as she sat next to Erin on her bed. Erin sighed, "I am trying but failing. I haven't been able to produce a single coherent sentence for this essay. Its due on Monday." she said shyly. Brennan chuckled, "Monday? How long does it have to be? You really don't have one sentence?" she asked. Erin took a pillow and covered her face, to avoid disappointment. "7 pages. I've had a week to do it." she said through a muffle. Brennan gasped, "Erin! You could have asked me for help. Or even one of your teachers. What have you been doing after school?" she asked, taking the pillow, uncovering Erin's face. "This essay is not really something my teachers can help me with. Also, you really haven't been available this week." Erin replied while removing her hair out of her face. She completely avoided discussing her after school activities with Dr. Tack. Brennan looked at her daughter, "I guess, you are correct. This case was rather difficult. What's your paper about?" she asked. Erin handed her mother the prompt, "It's about me. How others perceive me, how I perceive myself, how I want them to perceive me…. I'm having a hard time answering the prompt, as I don't know how I perceive myself…if that makes sense?" she phrased her answer as a form of question. The look of confusion took over Erin's face. "Hand me a pen please," Brennan said, and Erin did as she was told. Brennan quickly wrote down a few adjectives to describe Erin. She handed the list to Erin, 'Confident', 'Intelligent,' 'Beautiful', and 'Kind'. Erin smiled and asked, "Is this how you perceive me?" she asked. Brennan nodded, "These are only a few words describing how I perceive you. I may be biased, but when I first met you, these are the words that came to my mind. I didn't know you just yet." she said. Erin began recalling the moment she met her mom for the first time. The moment she hugged her stood still in her mind and Erin placed her head on her mother's arm. "Thank you." Erin said and Brennan placed a kiss on Erin's head.

Erin caught the smell of Booth's cologne on her mom, and she chuckled, and Brennan asked, "What?" and Erin gave her mother a sly smile. "You smell like Booth. You guys kissed." she said with a twinkle in her eyes. Erin sat up to prepare for her mother's explanation because Brennan's face turned beet red. Brennan laughed, "What? How? How did you guess that?" she asked. Erin grabbed her pillow once more and squeezed it, "Well you smell like him, and you seem very happy…. from the moment I saw you two together, I knew there was something more than just a partnership. You may seem like complete opposites, in regard to personality, but it's obvious you both are meant to be. I know you don't believe in absolutes or destiny, but I seem to find that you two are the exception." she said. Brennan understood what her daughter was saying. There was a time where Temperance Brennan believed she could never commit to one man, especially Seeley Booth.
