Shin and Lena
I do not own the rights to these characters. This is a fan fiction of 86-Eighty Six by Astro Astro after the battle in volume 4 from their small fight. When I wrote this I did not read Volume 5 yet but I could not help but to write this.
RATED M: Mature for language and some brief nudity.
Shin started down the long corridor to Lena's room. He did not know what he was going to say to her. Their conversation almost drowned out the white noise of the wails he could hear twenty-four seven.
"You will never understand!" Shin screamed getting up from the table in the mission control room.
"You never let me to understand! Why do shut yourself out from the world? Because your too afraid to feel. You are no different from the machines we fight everyday." Lena ran off. Not before she smacked him. He knew it was coming but he couldn't raise a hand to her. She was retired after a few hours of paperwork filed in the noisy combined room for the rest the platoon. But no one could approach the Bloodstained Queen with her red brim eyes. Everyone heard their conversation over the Para-raid devices.
"You sure did fuck up tonight Shin" Raiden spoke with a distant voice watching Lena complete her paperwork from afar. Shin was too caught up in his mind to see Raiden raise his fist and knocked Shin to the ground. People scattered from the Mass Hall. Some stayed around to see what Shin would do. But Raiden walked away saying, "All you had to do was acknowledge her. Even her voice couldn't pull you back this time. Reaper" the last word was spit out with hatred. Even Frederica and Fido wouldn't look at Shin and they went to clean up from the mission.
He had not realized this feeling. He was too afraid to admit the pit in his stomach every time he did battle now. He knew he would follow her orders to come back. But she drove him crazy. They began to fight more as the missions went on. They couldn't even be in the same room anymore. He missed their walked around the city and the base at night. Sharing the night sky together. He realized how much he wanted to see the ocean, but really he wanted to see her smile from the ocean. But he knew he could not lose her now.
He stopped in front of the door to the Colonel. Former Major Vladilena Milizé now Colonel. He remembered the first time he met her face to face. Not here at the base but the battlefield after defeating the Morpho. He was hit with some by her beauty. She asked tonight if he saw beauty in the world. He knew he did that day. His fight today was truly something that awoke in him that he needed to stay alive. He didn't realize what that was until she slapped him. It's like something woke up from a deep slumber.
He was about to knock on the door but he felt the normal ring of the Para-raid device. He paused a moment. He was too busy to be bothered right now, but answered. He knew instantly who it was. Lena….
She tried to speak, but words didn't form. She felt guilty about hitting him tonight. Shin could feel it through the device around his neck. He could feel her standing in front of the window, the slight wind coming in device. When he didn't say anything, she cut the line with a muffled cry.
He opened her door. Lena's silver hair shone in the light of the moon. She was wearing a thin night gown that did not cover much and hanged half off her shoulder. He paused a moment, but he couldn't back down now. His silent footsteps did not warn her. She did not even know the door had opened and closed. He saw the reflection of a kind soul in the window. She carried not only her burdens of her former country, but of him as well. He never meant to have anyone shoulder his burdens. He walked up behind her. She was trembling in the cool breeze. But Shin knew it wasn't the cool night tonight. She did not hold the commanding officer face in her personal room.
He was close enough to touch her. He never knew how much he wanted too until now. The closest he did was when he asked her to change the red streak in her hair. It was so soft. He watched her shoulders tense. He was warming than normal he could tell. She wouldn't look at him. He didn't blame her either. He couldn't even look at himself.
He thought about walking away. But he knew if he did, he would loose her like he did everyone else in his life. He would the trigger on the gun that pierced her heart forever. Neither spoke. He noticed she relaxed with his warmth nearby. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't remember kindness or love. Only the battlefields cold grasp and suffering. She leaned back into him laying her head as she stared out into the rivers edge. They stayed like this for a moment. Shin was taking in the beauty and his breathe caught when the moon spilled over her same silver hair. It shone like the moon. He knew he couldn't loose her now. His Queen on the battlefield, his moon off the battlefield.
That night would be something neither would ever forget. Shin gained a little bit of humanity back and Lena gained her King.
What do you think? I have a Lemons of this scene as well but I will not be posting that quite yet. I love this series!
I was listening Lose You Now (Acoustic) by Lindsey Sterling & MAKO. Hate Me by Ellie Goulding & Juice WRLD, Avid by SawanoHiroyuki and Fading Light by Aviators while writing this.
