Ah, another lovely day in Mewni like any other. The sun was shining, and everyone was in a happy mood. Everyone except the Butterfly princess, however.
Star was sitting in her room on her giant canopy bed with a frown on her face and her arms crossed. She hated putting on the "goody-goody princess" act to seem perfect to everyone in Mewni, including her parents, who forced her to act and dress that way.
'It's not fair! I just want to be able to wear what I want! I hate these scratchy and sparkly dresses!' Star thought angrily as she folded her arms across her chest. Suddenly, there was a knock on her door.
"Come in." Star called out. Manfred stepped into her room, making Star groan internally. She knew that Manfred was gonna bring her to the throne room so her parents can lecture her again.
"Your parents wish to see you princess." He informed her.
"Alright I'll be right there." Star muttered as she got up from her bed and walked towards Manfred.
The two of them walked down the large corridor and soon made it to the throne room where Star's parents, Queen Moon and King River, were seated on their thrones.
"Mother, Father." Star greeted them as she curtsied.
"Sweetie, we have something we want to discuss with you." Moon said.
"What is it, Mother?" Star asked. She was surprised she wasn't getting lectured, but also rather curious about what her parents wanted to talk to her about.
"Well, we've been thinking about this for a long time. Your father and I have decided to send you to an academy in another dimension." Moon explained.
"I-Is it St. O-Olga's?" Star choked out nervously. Star's best friend, Princess Ponyhead, was recently sent there and she had heard such horrible stories about their experiences from other princesses at ball gatherings.
"No no dear, we've saved that as a last resort." River said quickly, making Star sigh in relief.
"Anyways," Moon continued. "Your new school is called Echo Creek Academy, it's on the planet Earth."
Star cocked her head in confusion. "Earth?"
"Ah yes sweetie. Where people are not like Mewmans. They are human."
"Oh, well where would I stay?"
"You will be staying with the Diaz family, they offer exchange students a place to stay during their time there."
"How long will I be staying, Mother?"
"Until we decide when you're coming back."
Star felt slightly disappointed not knowing when she would return home, but that was quickly replaced with joy knowing that she won't be around her overbearing parents.
"Since you will be staying in another dimension, you will need some form of protection and self defense. So I will be giving you my wand." Moon smiled.
"Really?" Star gasped. "Thank you so much Mother!"
"It's no problem dear, but you must remember to use it responsibly. Otherwise we will not hesitate to take it away from you." River said sternly.
"I understand Father. I will use it responsibly." Star vowed.
Moon beamed in approval. "Now then, come here so I can give it to you."
Star walked towards the stairs leading up to the royal thrones as Moon walked down them and motioned for Star to hold out her hand. Once she did, Moon placed her wand in Star's hand and watched as a blinding light surrounded the room.
When the light faded away, Star looked at the wand and noticed it had transformed to fit her style.
"Congratulations honey, the Butterfly family wand is now yours." Moon cheered.
"Thank you so so much Mother! You as well Father!" Star gushed.
"Your welcome sweetheart." Her parents said in unison.
"Now then," Moon began. "Manfred! Please get a few servants to pack Star's things! We leave tomorrow."
"T-Tomorrow?!" Star stuttered.
River grinned. "Yes sweetie, since today is Sunday and tomorrow is Monday, you will start your classes tomorrow, every Monday through Friday."
"Oh..well alright." Star muttered.
"Now run along dear, I suggest you get some rest for your big day tomorrow." Moon advised her. Star nodded and curtsied one last time and headed back to her room.
A few hours later, Star was laying in her bed staring at the ceiling. Moonlight shone through her window as a light breeze made her window curtains sway a bit.
"Earth, huh?" Star muttered to herself as she turned onto her side. "Maybe it won't be so bad there."
