Dante absolutely felt like shit. He felt so weak and helpless. All of his muscles were aching horribly and he couldn't even open his eyes. He even tried to utter just a simple sound yet he failed miserably. His twin brother, Vergil, would be probably looking at him in disgust by now. But then he suddenly remembered what happened. They got separated at all the ruckus and mess happening in the Demon World. They were dueling when the unthinkable happened. Multiple portals leading to who knows where just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and have sucked them all up. Who really knows where Vergil would have ended up? For sure, the last thing Dante remembers before blacking out is that he was falling straight down to a small river or possibly pond while being severely exhausted. That was all he could come up with and that's that.

Realizing there was nothing he could do for the moment, Dante just simply decided to rest and go back to sleeping on god knows what. He doesn't really care about what he's lying on right now. At least, it's comfortable and that's what matters.

The Dark Slayer Vergil grunted in pain when he crash landed horribly on the rough rocky ground. He knew his bones and flesh could handle the fall but he didn't expected it to be so painful. He knew he was exhausted and tired but he didn't knew it would be this severe.

Forcing himself, Vergil mustered his remaining strength to stand up and pick up his beloved sword The Yamato. He then took note of his current surroundings. He could tell he's in some random forest right now and that the sun seems to be already setting but that's about it.

Vergil pondered if he's back on Earth but concluded it was unlikely. After all, he knew that portal was different and his idiotic twin brother probably couldn't even tell the difference.

'I better probably find a place to stay and rest for now considering my current conditions.' Vergil decided as he walks forward to a path of unknowns, "I hope that idiot's doing well."

Dante could now feel his strength coming back to him. It seems his long rest have paid off. Albeit, he could tell he was a little bit weaker and a little stiff for now. But a simple little exercise could fix that. After all, he's a Hybrid of Human and Demon.

Finally opening his eyes and the first thing he saw was a wooden ceiling. He then sat up weakly and the white haired man looked around with curiousity. He could say he's currently in a decent bedroom. It seems he's been lying on a bed for who knows how long. He took note of the wet towel on a huge stainless bowl filled with water.

'Someone's been taking care of me while I was asleep.' Dante deduced before someone suddenly entered the room. When he saw who it was, Dante almost choked. He almost mistook her for Nero's girlfriend but then he quickly realized some huge differences. But seriously, the girl had similar looks to Kyrie. She even has the innocent appeal and an aura that is similar to a saint. Exactly like Kyrie.

"Look like you're finally awake there, sleepy head." The girl spoke out with a sweet warmly voice along with a cheerful smile.

Dante only coldly looked away at her in a rude manner as he realized something, "How long was I out?"

At this, the girl pouted in annoyance but complied, "Two days. And wow, quite a funny way to say thanks, mister."

"Sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect. I'm just having a rough time right now." Dante gently replied albeit a little more softer than before, "And please, just call me Dante. That's my name. Anyway, thanks."

The girl narrowed her eyes in suspicion at first but then after a moment, she finally smiles and introduce herself, "I'm Aerith. And apology accepted. So, how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling a bit woozy but otherwise I'm quite alright." Dante smiles as well but it came off as more overly confident and arrogant compared to Aerith's warmly innocent and joyful smile, "So, how will I repay you? If it's cash, then you're probably gonna have to wait for a very long time. I'm quite overwhelmed by debt right now. I'm broke."

Aerith only chuckled lightly at his admittance, "No need to actually repay me to be honest, silly."

Dante sighes in relief upon hearing those words coming out from Aerith.

"-But if you actually insist, you could repay me by becoming my bodyguard and assistant for the whole day." Aerith suddenly suggested cheerfully and Dante almost went gloomy. He was just so close at dodging a bullet back there, "You see, I kinda sell flowers but rowdy ruffians always come along for trouble and that adds extra hassle. So, will you help me?"

Dante sighes deeply in annoyance but then he finally relents, "Alright. I'll help you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, sure. Anything to return a favor." Dante shrugged nonchalantly, "But would you mind telling me where I am right now?"

"Your in Midgar. In the Sector Five Slums to be exact." Aerith answered cheerfully.

'Midgar? Sector Five Slums? What the hell?' Dante asked himself inside his mind. But he assured himself that he would get a clear answer once he steps outside, "By the way, am I naked or anything? I don't feel any of my clothes with me right now."

Aerith quickly grew red at his statement and quickly looked away from Dante's gaze, "Oh, yeah. About that. My mother had to take off all of your clothes due to the horrible stench and she also had to clean you too. After that, she just covered you with a blanket. I don't know if she saw anything but she seems kinda traumatized ever since the first day."

"Now, I kinda feel bad." Dante admitted, "It's extended then. I'm gonna be working for you and your mother for a week tops. And that's it. That's the least I could do to return the favor. Would that be okay? As you already know, I don't have any money with me."

"I think that's fair." Aerith nodded.

"Where's your mother right now?" Dante questioned.

"Oh, she's cooking us breakfast downstairs."

Upon hearing the word 'Breakfast', Dante's stomach growled in an instant, eliciting a heartwarming laugh out of Aerith.

"Already hungry, aren't you, Dante?" Aerith teased with a playful smirk.

"Hey, you can't blame me. A dirty middle-aged hobo like me always likes a good breakfast." Dante jokingly replied with a shrug, "And besides, I haven't eaten in years, you know."

"Yeah, right." Aerith playfully rolled her eyes, "Anyway, I gotta tell my mother you're awake now and bring you your clothes. And by the way, your clothes were awful. Where did you get into such a mess that they would stink so badly? We had to wash it off three time just to get it finally clean and well, you know."

"It's part of the job." Dante vaguely answered, "I'm a handyman."

"You are?" Aerith tilted her head in confusion.

"Yeah."

"Okay, I really gotta go downstairs now." Aerith finally leaves The Legendary Devil Hunter to his own.

And with that, Dante looked under the blankets and saw his naked form along with his 'hidden master sword', "Hello there, lil Dante. How's life?"

When Aerith finally came back, she gave her his clothes and also space and privacy for him to change.

After Dante was done, he then looked at himself in a nearby mirror and he realized that his beard was gone. Aerith's mother must have given him a clean shave. He noted that he looked slightly younger without the facial hairs. That's not surprising at all for The Legendary Devil Hunter. Besides, he needed that. He should probably say thanks to her later.

"Dante? Are you done?" Aerith asked aloud outside the room.

"I'm done." Dante answered and Aerith quickly came in and was left awed by him.

"It really suits you." Aerith complimented with a smile.

"Thanks, Aerith." Dante smiled back with a wink, "Without this wonderful red coat of mine, I might not know what to do."

"Your welcome, Dante."

"By the way, I seem to remember two guns strapped back here. Did you took them?" Dante asked very gently as he was careful to not antagonize her or her mother.

"Yeah, I had to. My mother would have freaked out if she saw you carrying guns. You see, I was the one who found you and dragged you here. You were helpless and weak and I had to do something. I just couldn't let someone die in front of me." Aerith revealed, "I'll give your guns back to you once we're finally outside."

"Okay, Aerith. It's understandable." Dante shrugged nonchalantly, "Actually, I should thank you again. Seems I owe you a lot more than I expected."

"Don't mention it. Besides, I kinda like the company." Aerith admitted.

Dante just shrugged nonchalantly at her words again before they moved downstairs to the dining room where Aerith's mother was waiting for them.

Dante founded the mother to be quite the opposite of Aerith. She was stern, strict, and overly serious. If he was being honest, she reminded him of Vergil. But hey, at least, Vergil still knows how to lighten up and crack a joke for once in a while. This lady was just serious, serious, and more serious. She's as tight as a duck's butt. But still, Dante respected her. She's a mother with a nice beautiful innocent daughter and her behavior is understandable.

Breakfast went off without a hitch. They introduced each other with politeness and casually. Then the three just started talking about their everyday lives while eating contentedly. Although, Dante still had to hide some crucial details with his story such as Demons and him being a Devil Hunter were clearly out of the discussion. He just outright proclaimed himself as a savvy handyman with many crazy adventures in his everyday life. When they were finally done with Breakfast, they've gotted onto the topic of Dante's debt to them and Dante agreed to any of their demands and conditions without question. All of them were understandable and fair so he got no right to complain.

Once they were finally done with Breakfast, Dante bowed in gratitude in front of them, "Really. Thank you all for your hospitality. I appreciate it."

With that out of the way, Aerith lead Dante out of her house and boy, the sight outside was beautiful and shabby at the same time. This place looked like out of a fantasy sci fi movie.

Aerith then even gave him a tour throughout the whole place that is known as the Sector Five Slums and at that moment, Dante was sure, he's in a different world alright. No wonder that portal was weird.

A/N: This was a weird crossover but hey, this is just experimental. This fic might probably even ended up as a one shot. But I'm still not sure. Anyway, thanks for reading. Please do tell what you think on the review section.
