Chapter One: Outsiders

"Come on. I know I smelled a zebra go past here. Where'd it go?" Alexis asks as she is sniffing around in wolf form one morning on a hunt. As Alexis is sniffing she hears a twig snap and quickly shifts back to lioness form before going to investigate and sees a male lion by a tree.

"Come on termites! I need to get back before mother gets home so I can have something to present to her." The lion says as Alexis growls and goes over.

"You'd better be more concerned about having a good excuse for being in my family's territory." Alexis says as she growls.

"Who are you?" The lion asks annoyedly.

"Alexis. Eldest daughter of Simba and Nala. Who are you and why are you here?" Alexis asks angrily.

"I don't have to answer to a girl!" The lion says before Alexis jumps him and pins him onto the ground.

"Sure about that?" Alexis asks as she growls.

"Hey! Get off me. How is it that you're so strong?" The lion shouts as he tries to push Alexis off with no luck.

"I've had a good teacher. I'm also self taught. Now answer me." Alexis says sternly.

"Fine. Just get off. You win. Look my name is Nuka. I'm from another pride." The lion says as Alexis lets him up.

"The only other pride I know of are the outsiders in the outlands. You are supposed to be banished. Why did you come here?" Alexis asks.

"Food isn't the best there okay? I came to get some termites. Not like it's done me much good. I haven't found any." Nuka says.

"Well duh. You're searching in the wrong tree. I know where some are. I could help you if you like." Alexis says as she looks at the tree Nuka was near.

"Why would a pride lander especially the older daughter of Simba help me?" Nuka asks cautiously.

"Because I want you out of our territory and two because you don't seem like much of a threat. Now do you want the help or not? If not then leave." Alexis says bluntly.

"No. I'll take it." Nuka says reluctantly.

"Follow me then." Alexis says as she starts walking with Nuka.

*Timeskip*

"Thanks for the help. This ought to be good enough." Nuka says as she is by the outskirts of the outlands with Alexis as he holds a branch filled with termites.

"You're welcome." Alexis says kindly.

"Why did you help me anyway? Wouldn't you get in trouble if your dad knew?" Nuka asks curiously.

"Well yeah but I don't see a reason not to long as you leave afterwards. Why? Doesn't anybody in your pride ever help anybody just to be kind and help out?" Alexis says.

"No. We're not that sort of pride. We never really help each other out or anyone for that matter. Not that anyone has ever cared enough to help us." Nuka says as he looks down as Alexis gives a sympathetic look.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I really am. It must be hard." Alexis says.

"It is but we're used to it. The hard life is what makes us strong. It either makes you or breaks you in the outlands." Nuka says.

"I understand." Alexis says.

"How? You're a pride lander." Nuka says as Alexis gives a nervous look.

"Just nevermind. You should go. I can smell my family's scent. I don't want to see you hurt when you haven't done anything apart from come into an area you're banished from." Alexis says as she smells the air.

"Thanks uh.." Nuka says.

"Alexis." Alexis says.

"Well thank you. You know I don't know how the other pride landers are but I guess you're not too bad. You seem kinda nice." Nuka says.

"The same to you." Alexis says as she watches Nuka leave before running off.

*Timeskip*

"Hey Kiara. I heard what happened. You okay?" Alexis asks as she finds Kiara after hearing about her run in with a couple outsiders.

"Yeah. I was only having fun. Dad wasn't happy about it." Kiara says annoyedly.

"I heard but you have to understand he was worried about you. The outsiders are not ones to be messed with. Especially not for such a little cub like you." Alexis says as she sits beside Kiara.

"But you don't get stopped every time you leave Pride Rock." Kiara says as Alexis looks at her.

"That's because I'm older than you are and can defend myself. You're still just a little cub Kiara." Alexis says as she nuzzles Kiara.

"I'm always too little to do anything or they always want me to act like a queen. I don't want to be a queen. It's no fun. I never get to do anything." Kiara says annoyedly.

"Kiara I know it's hard but you'll see one day. It'll all turn out. Besides one day you'll be able to run as free and wild as me when you're bigger." Alexis says as she smiles.

"I guess. Thanks Alexis. You're the best big sister ever." Kiara says as she smiles.

"I'm you're only sister. Besides that's my job. I'll make a deal with you. How about tomorrow I take you out on a little hunt? Just the two of us. Nothing big but there's plenty of small creatures you can go after." Alexis says as Kiara smiles.

"Really?" Kiara asks.

"Of course." Alexis says.

"Thank you! Thank you!" Kiara shouts as she nuzzles Alexis's chest.

"Hey. That tickles." Alexis says as he chuckles.
