"What's up, Hagrid?"
Harry Potter was sitting in Hagrid's hut, a curious look on his spectacled face. The enormous half-giant had written to him earlier that day to ask him to come over. He had said in his letter that he had something important to tell him. The boy wizard had wasted no time in hurrying over to his large friend's house. He gazed at Hagrid with puzzled, bewildered eyes, wondering what he had to inform him of.
"You said in your letter there was something you wanted to tell me?"
"Tha' I did, Harry, tha' I did." Hagrid sat down beside the small young wizard. A sincere look was on his bearded face as he dropped a heavy hand onto his shoulder. "I called yer ov'r me hut so I coul' tell yer summat impor'ant."
"What?" Harry asked anxiously. "What is it, Hagrid?"
Hagrid's black beetle-like eyes narrowed with worry. "I shoul' warn yer, Harry, tha' wha' I'm abou' ter tell yer is gonna change yer life."
"Is it?"
"Yea'," Hagrid answered slowly. "I think yer migh' be in fer a bit of a shock when I tell yer."
Harry frowned. It didn't sound like whatever Hagrid had to tell him was something he would take lightly. He was a little worried over the fact what he was about to hear would change his life.
On the other hand, the boy wizard had made many unusual discoveries and uncovered bizarre secrets during his time at Hogwarts. He had seen and heard so many strange things while in the Wizarding World. Maybe he shouldn't be surprised by Hagrid's life-changing news - whatever it may turn out to be.
"Okay!" Harry puffed out his chest, bracing himself. "I'm ready to hear it!"
"Are yer sure, Harry?" Hagrid asked. "I dunno if yer little mind can take it-"
"Yes, I'm ready! I'm ready!" Harry repeated insistently. "Tell me what you've gotta tell me, Hagrid."
Hagrid gazed down at his young friend. He was in awe of how brave he was being, ready to face the news that would turn his entire world upside down. Resigned to tell him what he had to know, Hagrid took a deep breath, then let out what he had to say to the young boy.
"Yer a wizard, Harry!"
Harry stared, his eyes widening behind his glasses in great disbelief over what Hagrid had told him - which he had already heard before.
"I know, Hagrid!" he exclaimed. "You told me!"
"Did I?" Hagrid's face went white, standing out amongst his black hair and beard. "Really, Harry?!"
"'Course you did! Back when the two of us first met!" Harry rolled his eyes. "It was you that introduced me to the Wizarding World, Hagrid!"
"Was it now?" Hagrid scratched his hairy face. "I musta fergot!"
"I'll say!" Harry nodded as he picked up a nearby jug from the table. He correctly assuming that was the liquid was filled with had affected his friend's memory. "No more drink for you, Hagrid."
"Yer right, Harry. I'll stop drinkin' forever - righ' after I've had jus' one more!"
With his large hand, Hagrid snatched the jug out of Harry's hand. He poured the liquid all the way to the top of a glass, which he lifted up from the table to gulp down what was his tenth pint of butterbeer that day.
The end.
