A/N Hi so this is my first criminal minds story so I hope you like it. I'm not very good at writing and there may be some mistakes. I hope you enjoy it
Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters (obviously) although I wish i did
The young girl hovered in the doorway of her mother's bedroom. It was around four in the morning and you could see the morning sun beginning to rise from behind the paris landscape through a crack in the curtains. She had had a nightmare and wanted her mother but didn't know whether to wake her or not since she could be mad. Normally, her mother would wake up when she stood in the doorway but this time she didn't.
She entered her mother's room and went over to her. On the beside table, there was an empty pill bottle. Maybe she was sick? Emily reached up to feel her mother's forehead to check for a fever but she wasn't warm: She was cold, very cold.
"Mama?" She shook her mother's arm, trying to get her to awaken.
"Mama, se réveiller," (wake up) she said, more desperately.
She wasn't waking up. Emily knew this meant something was wrong. Her old friend, Lucy, from Germany had said that her dog didn't wake up one day and he was dead. She didn't want her mother to be dead.
The phone was on the floor and Emily picked it up and dialled the emergency number and explained her mother wouldn't wake up. It all happened so quickly, one minute her mother was in bed, the next she was being taken away in an ambulance. Her nanny had to hold her back as she cried because she didn't want her mother to leave.
Then Oscar showed up. Emily didn't like Oscar, he had weird glasses and gave her a small bag to put her things in which wasn't even big enough for all her clothes. He then grabbed her by the wrist, which hurt, and pulled her into his car.
He drove them to the embassy which confused Emily. Why were they coming here? She thought about for a few seconds before she figured it out. They didn't know her mother was dead. She thought about her lonely her mother must be since she was all alone. She wanted to cry but didn't because Oscar was there and her mother had always made that she should not cry around people, especially not strangers since it made you look weak and Emily Prentiss was anything but weak.
They went inside and Emily sat in her favourite chair in the lobby. It was in the corner and Mrs Edwards (the Secretary) always left a book there for her. She was too sad to read today. Oscar was talking to Mike, he is- was her mother's boss and he seemed saddened at the news but not upset like she was and that made her mad. He should be more sad because her mother was dead although maybe he too was taught not to cry in public.
Oscar came over to Emily and she frowned. She really didn't like this man. "Well miss Prentiss, looks like you're going to Chicago to stay with the Morgan family,"
