Super Smash Bros Ultimate Injustice 2

Five years had passed since the end of Mario's Regime fell to Sonic's resistance, the entire world has yet to recover and rebuild. But more battles from within themselves and an ancient enemy rises anew, forcing the ex-Regime and the Insurgency to work together once again. Will they make amends, or continue the same battles that stills the old wounds? Please R&R

1. Prologue

"In my years fighting evil... I've learned the truth. That every villain... is the hero of the story."

Sonic the Hedgehog stood firm and tall, and before a computer, with his eye patch replaced by a cybernetic eye, indicating a yellow circle with a matching dot for an iris. He sat up straight and composed, and he was struggling to pull himself together.

"Mario was no exception. Ganondorf drugged him. Tricked him into killing his pregnant wife, Peach. And made him trigger the bomb that nuked the entire mushroom kingdom. So when Mario killed Ganondorf...I understood why. We all did, but once that line was crossed, there can be no going back. He gave himself and his friends a new mandate. Stop all crime before it happened, by all means necessary. But he couldn't see his good intentions were leading him down a path of tyranny and evil...he killed Eggman...he murdered Bowser...he slaughtered Dr Willy...and more. Including his friends from Samus to Pac Man who did the crime of speaking up against him. And that's how our greatest hero became our greatest threat..."

Sonic paused as he continued "The 'Super Smash Bros Ultimate' has now been defeated. It cost us many losses and lives. Mario killed many of my supporters...he beated our previous leader...Link to death...he murdered Pikachu..." Sonic stalled as he trailed off. Moments later he managed to pull himself together as he continued "...But thanks to Fox and Tails, we brought another Mario and the rest of the other Super Smash Bros Ultimate from another universe to stop Mario...Mario has been defeated and peace has been restored to the entire world from the Mushroom Kingdom to Green Hills Zone. Mario's supporters are still out there including the Ice Climbers to Luigi and more...We just have to hope that peace will be restored to the world...I just don't know how long it will take...we just need hope."

Sonic paused again as he looked down at the computer and sighed as he closed the computer. Trying not to think of the past. He still sat frozen in place as he contemplated everything that has happened...and everything he dreaded to happen.
