Anga had known stressful situations. Ever since she had joined the Lion Guard, it had been one struggle after another. Even after they arrived at the Tree of Life, there had been constant struggles. But now those struggles seemed to be over, at least for now. With the current events going on at the Tree, Anga knew there would be trouble.
"Anga!"
Hearing her name, Anga looked up to see four animals approaching her. They were all recognizable to her, for they were her fellow animals in arms. There was Fuli, the Fastest. She had grown into a fine cheetah, no longer the cub she once was. She was now full-grown, and she wasn't an unattached cheetah anymore. After Kion's coronation, Azaad had decided to stay at the Tree. His reasons? He stated he had a good reason to stay, and that reason was Fuli.
Then there was Beshte and Ono. The Strongest and Smartest of their group. The pair hadn't changed much. If anything they had simply developed into adults. Neither were attached to any mates or anything, but who knew what the future held?
Lastly, there was Bunga, the Bravest. Bunga hadn't changed much personality-wise, but physically he had changed greatly. No longer was he a well-built creature, but now an overweight shadow of his former self. Living at the Tree of Life had sat well with the honey badger, and without constant threats to keep himself in shape, Bunga spent his days lounging and feeding. If anything Binga somewhat enabled his behavior. The pair were a definite lovey-dovey couple, and the fellow honey badger found Bunga adorable no matter what size he was.
"Hey guys," Anga greeted.
Fuli's expression held notable concern to it, "Anga is it true? Are Makucha and Chuluun really here?"
"Oh yeah, it's them," Anga replied.
"Wow, you'd think Kion sending them away would make them think twice about coming back, but guess bad guys never learn," Bunga stated.
"I heard they brought a cub with them," Ono added.
"Probably to use as a hostage or something," Bunga said.
"Aww poor little guy, he must be so scared," Beshte said with sympathy.
Although all of those were valid points, they were far from the truth.
"Actually, he's not a hostage," Anga said then noted the looks of confusion upon her friend's faces, "That little cub, he's Makucha's son.
That provoked a serious of disbelief upon the former Lion Guard's faces.
"Woah woah woah!" Bunga exclaimed, "You're telling me that Makucha is someone's dad!?"
"Oh it gets better, turns out Chuluun is the mother," Anga revealed.
The reaction that followed was clear shock, but not as intense as the previous reveal. Made sense considering it was the two of them with a cub in tow.
"Makucha and Chuluun a couple? Well. that's a match made in heaven," Fuli remarked sarcastically.
"Wow, I didn't even know two different species of leopards could have a cub," Beshte stated.
"Actually, big cats can mix. It doesn't happen too often, but hybrids are possible. Common knowledge really." Ono educated in his usual manner.
"Oh man, could you picture Makucha? Giving his kid a bath, telling him bedtime stories?" Bunga said jokingly.
Indeed the mental image of Makucha and Chuluun being parents didn't mesh well with their earlier actions. The pair hardly seemed like parental material.
"So what are Kion and Rani going to do?" Fuli asked.
"He's letting them stay, at least until their cub is better. Makucha is staying in the pass under watch, and Chuluun is in the Tree.
"And I take it no one is happy about this?' Fuli pressed.
"Oh yeah. Angry mob and everything," Anga revealed.
Fuli sighed, "There's going to be trouble,"
"Yep," Anga bluntly replied.
"I'd think so, two villains here, animals are going to panic," Ono concurred.
"But they wouldn't cause trouble with a cub here right?" Beshte said hopefully.
That would be ideal, but they would have to wait and see.
A/N: Okay, most of these were scenes cut from Changing Spots, but I decided to put them to use as an anthology of sorts.
