Not all men are created equally. That's the lesson that Izuku Midoriya learned at a young age. After not being born with a quirk you'd think that the bad hand life had dealt him couldn't get worse, you'd be wrong. For years after the day he deemed "quirkless" he was bullied with no mercy. To others he was an oddity, a mistake that never should have been born. What they didn't know was that he was destined to be history's strongest hero.

"GET BACK HERE DEKU!" Katsuki Bakugou screamed as he and a few other kids chased someone down an empty street.

The green haired teen ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Izuku Midoriya didn't know what he did specifically to earn his "friend's" ire, but he knew that he needed to run.

He kept running, hoping to come across a hero or even a police officer to shake the aggressive blonde. So far he had no luck trying to find someone to help him. Izuku had hoped to get to Air Jet's agency to at least get one of his sidekicks to at least reprimand the group chasing him. As he was running through the park he was cut off by one of Bakugou's lackey's that had managed to circle around.

"You have some nerve running from your punishment Deku!" Bakugou said as sparks started flying from his hands.

"I don't even know what I did Kaachan" Izuku whimpered as he fell to the ground cowering in fear.

"I heard you were still writing those shitty notebooks trying to be a hero! What the fuck did I tell you Deku?! You're just a pebble, a bug that I can kill at any moment!" Bakugou said as the sparks started getting bigger. "Having a little shit like you trying to be a hero is the biggest insult I can think of!"

As Bakugou was going to close in and hit Izuku with an explosion he was stopped suddenly as Izuku's prayers were seemingly answered.

Someone had arrived and not only stopped Bakugou's forward momentum, they diverted his arm upwards keeping the blast from hitting anyone. Looking at the man who helped him Izuku could only stare in awe.

The man towered above both teens, he looked to be in his mid 30s. He had brown hair that spiked backwards and bangs that framed around his face. He wore a white dougi that had the sleeves torn off which showed his muscular yet lean arms. His forearms were covered with red and black arm guards. Underneath his dougi was appeared to be chainmail. He also wore black kung fu pants and shoes. One odd thing to note however was how he had a band aid under his left eye.

After getting over the initial shock of being deflected, Bakugou recovered and grew angry.

"What the fuck was that for you extra?!" Bakugou yelled,

"I have a problem with delinquents picking on the weak." The mystery man said "You'd better leave now before I call the police."

This made Bakugou flinch for a bit, this extra may have pissed him off but if he called the cops and reported this it might hurt his chances to get into UA.

"Tch, whatever. I was getting bored anyway." Bakugou said as he and his lackeys walked away.

Izuku didn't know what to think in this situation. This man had moved fast enough to deflect Kaachan's blast and he even reprimanded him for attacking someone. No one ever talked to Kaachan like that. As he was still processing this the man finally noticed him.

"Hey, are you okay?" The man asked holding his hand out to help Izuku up.

"Y-yeah" Izuku said as he took the man's hand.

"Does this happen often?" The man asked,

Izuku could only avert his eyes and look towards the ground. "It happens all the time at school."

The man raised an eyebrow at this. "Why don't you tell your teachers then?"

"I can't, Kaachan is trying to get into UA so they don't want to do anything to ruin his future. Besides, I'm quirkless."

"So? I don't have a quirk." the man replied,

Izuku didn't know how to react to this man, so far he had gone against everything he knew. He was able to deflect a powerful quirk like Kaachan's, without a quirk of his own. He had to know how this was possible.

"Who are you? Are you a hero?" Izuku asked,

The man smiled. "I'm Kenichi Shirahama, and to answer your question I guess you can say I'm a part time hero."

"Part time?"

"Well a while ago I got into a situation that required me to get a hero license, but I'm mainly a writer these days." Kenichi answered "Getting back on topic, you really should do something about that bully of yours."

Izuku then looked down as Kenichi continued.

"Tell me somethin what do you think strong people should do with their power?"

Izuku stood still for a moment before looking Kenichi in the eye with as much determination as he could muster.

"Strong people should use their power to protect the week, and face evil wherever it shows up!"

Hearing this Kenichi knew what he had to do next.

"What's your name?" he asked,

"Izuku Midoriya, sir" the green haired teen responded,

"Well then Izuku Midoriya, how would you like to be my Disciple?"
