Author's Notes

When I wrote this Thanksgiving story, I laughed over its humor. My favorite part of writing this was the planning of the story. I have many more Final Fantasy VII crossovers coming up soon, so stay tuned for all of those.

A Thanksgiving to Never Forget

A Final Fantasy VII X Kingdom Hearts Fanfiction

By ktlnboyle

It was Thanksgiving in Midgar. Cloud was hosting a special Thanksgiving feast as his giant place. However, he was hoping that Sephiroth, his nemesis, would not come to the feast just to ruin it. He later went to Tifa Lockhart for a short word about the Thanksgiving dinner.

"OK, Tifa," Cloud spoke, "it's your turn to cook the pumpkin pie since I was the one to cook it last year."

"I thought Aerith cooked it last year…" Tifa asked herself. "I could have sworn I saw Aerith cook it last Thanksgiving!"

"It doesn't matter who cooked the pumpkin pie, Tifa." Cloud said. "After all, I get to cook the turkey and yams."

"Is he kidding about the yams?" A kid named Denzel asked.

"Tee hee! Why would Cloud be kidding about the yams and cooking them?" Another child named Marlene Wallace said.

"I don't know." Denzel reponded. "Maybe its because Cloud knows nothing about yams and cooking them?" Denzel and Marlene later laughed.

"Don't laugh at Cloud, kids!" Tifa said. "After all, I have seen Cloud cook last Thanksgiving. And let me tell you, he is so good at it!"

"Why yes… yes I am…" Cloud said. Suddenly, somebody knocked at the door. It was Marlene's adopted father, Barret Wallace, and Aerith Gainsborough.

"Daddy! Daddy! I laughed at Cloud Strife after Denzel said something about him not being able to cook the yams for Thanksgiving!" Marlene said.

"Come on, Marlene, Thanksgiving is about being family to one another, and giving thanks to others. Not about laughing at those who can or cannot cook." Aerith said to Marlene.

"Yeah, Marlene. Aerith's right." Barret said.

"Why don't you all head into the kitchen and set the table." Cloud said to Marlene, Denzel, Aerith, and Barret. He later said to Tifa, "Come on, Tifa. We've got a lot to do before the other guests arrive."

When everyone was starting to set up the table for Thanksgiving dinner, Cloud Strife himself was starting to set up for cooking the dinner. He already had Tifa's special pumpkin pie recipe out on the kitchen counter, and he was ready to add the correct amount of ingredients into the bowl. Then, Marlene came into the kitchen to ask Cloud a quick question.

"Cloud, are any other guests arriving?" Marlene asked.

"Well… Sora's arriving later on with Riku." Cloud said. "I mean, what could possibly go wrong about inviting family friends over.

"Anyone else we know?" Denzel asked when he came into the room.

"Well… not that I know of." Cloud said. Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door. It was Sora and Riku when Tifa answered the door!

"Sora! Riku! I'm glad you two could make it!" Tifa exclaimed. "Is anyone else coming?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure. I know two more people are coming." Sora said.

"Really? Is Kairi coming? Was Yuffie right behind you guys?" Tifa asked.

"I am not sure about Yuffie, Tifa." Sora asked. "I know Kairi's coming since she called me on the phone."

"I see." Tifa said. She later called out to Cloud. "Cloud, Sora and Riku are here!"

"Perfect." Cloud said. "Send them to the table and tell them to wait for the dinner."

"What did he say, Tifa?" Sora asked.

"He asked you to go to the table and wait for the dinner to be served."

"OK." Riku said. "Come on, Sora. Let's go to the table."

"Alright." Sora responded.

As Sora and Riku went to the table, another knock was heard at the door. When Sora volunteered to answer the door, it was in fact Yuffie Kisaragi and Kairi, who were right behind Sora and Riku outside when they were arriving to Cloud's place.

"What was the big idea with you two running late?" Sora asked.

"We got stuck in traffic!" Yuffie said.

"Yuffie's right!" Kairi said. "We couldn't get Red XIII and Cait Sith on the back of the truck!"

"Red and Cait Sith are coming?!" Tifa asked.

"Did Cloud invite almost everyone in this town, Tifa?" Barret asked himself.

"I really don't know, to be quite honest with you, Barret." Tifa said. "But I best ask him later." Tifa later asked Kairi if her grandmother was coming over for Thanksgiving dinner.

"She's stuck with Red XIII and Cait Sith from what we found out. She's even bringing Roxas!"

"Not Roxas! He hates the cranberry sauce, and he also hates my mashed potatoes!" Cloud said.

"He hates MY mashed potatoes, Cloud. Yours is cooked way different." Tifa said.

"Oh…" Cloud said. Then, someone was scratching at the door. The one who was scratching was Red XIII. Cait Sith along with Kairi's grandmother were with them, too along with Aqua.

"Hello, everyone." Kairi's grandmother said.

"Granny!" Kairi exclaimed.

"Oh, Kairi, I am so happy to see you!" Kairi's grandmother said. "Isn't it nice to be with family around the time of Thanksgiving?"

"I am so happy to be with you!" Kairi said. "Come, let me show you where I am sitting, and you can sit next to me!"

"Oh, sweetheart, I am already sitting next to you anyways!" Kairi's grandmother said. Remember? Assigned seats for Thanksgiving?"

"Oh… right." Kairi said.

Back with Denzel and Marlene, they were playing on a computer system when they heard of some terrible news. The news, which was counted as an emergency alert, stated that Sephiroth was back in Midgar after he ruined the Labor Day Games. Denzel wanted to warn Cloud about the emergency.

"Cloud, Sephiroth is back in town." Denzel said.

"Yeah, we saw the news on the computer!" Marlene said. "I guess he wants revenge on everyone in Midgar after he wasn't invited to the Labor Day Games."

"Gods! I should have known Sephiroth was looking for revenge." Cloud said. "Tifa, quick! Lock the doors after the last few guests come in!"

"Why, Cloud?" Tifa asked. "Oh, wait… don't tell me."

"Yes, he's back." Cloud said.

"No, no!" Tifa said. Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door.

"What happened? Who is it now?" Marlene asked.

"Look out the window!" Cloud said. "Make sure it's not Sephiroth!"

"Don't worry! It's just Ventus and Naminé. They were invited too." Tifa said. She later opened the door to let the two of them in.

"Hey, sorry we're late." Ventus said. "Hey, Cloud, nobody is coming after us other than Vincent Valentine, Zack Fair, and your mother Claudia. Cid's on the way too."

"My mother is on the way?!" Cloud said as he was shocked.

"Yes." Ventus responded.

"Then I better get dinner done!" Cloud said.

"You know what, Cloud, you better not be burning that turkey!" Red XIII exclaimed. "Where's the stuffing?!" he later asked while screaming the question.

After a few hours, the Thanksgiving meal was done, and everyone had arrived for the feast. Everyone was sitting in their assigned spots, and soon afterwards, Cloud and Tifa filled the table with many of the delicious foods they have cooked up. The foods included turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, harvested fruits and vegetables, stuffing, and of course, Tifa Lockhart's famous pumpkin pie. However, one big knock was heard at the door. Everyone started to get suspicious about what or who it was.

"Open the door and let me into the Thanksgiving feast, Cloud!" the voice said.

"It really sounds like Sephiroth out there." Cloud said.

"Don't answer it, Cloud! Please!" Denzel said.

"We'll just have to think of a plan on how to rid Sephiroth." Cloud said. "And I think I've got the perfect plan.

As Cloud walked over to the fireplace after seeing Sephiroth using the ladder to get to the roof, he had an idea up his sleeve. Cloud carefully got the pot and burned firewood under it. Then, he waited for Sephiroth to hit the chimney. Then, when Sephiroth came down the chimney like Santa Claus, Sephiroth later found out he landed on a flaming hot pot. He later jumped out of the pot and ran out the door and exiled himself from Midgar. Cloud was hoping he would not be seen again.

"Oh, Cloud, darling! I am so proud of you!" Claudia Strife said.

"Thanks, Mom." Cloud said. "Now, how about some whipped cream and soufflé after dinner?" Everyone agreed to it.

And so, Cloud and all of his friends who came over FOR Thanksgiving dinner lived happily ever after, just as so that Sephiroth wouldn't return.
