Dinner was usually a normal affair for the family of ninja residing in the Destiny's Bounty. It happened to be Zane's turn to cook that night, and he never disappointed with the meals he made. Nya made her way to the dining hall, noticing that the rest of the ninja had yet to appear. Bowls and spoons had already been set on the table for everyone. It was funny how the boys always complained about her taking forever to get ready when Kai always needed extra time to do his hair. She settled into her normal seat at the table, hoping that the boys would eat more than they threw. It honestly felt like she was dealing with a group of toddlers most of the time.

The moment Kai walked into the room, Nya felt her stomach churn. The smell of his shampoo was almost overbearing. He probably had a date with Skylor later. But that was still no reason for the scent to be that intense. "You're really going heavy on the shampoo today, aren't you, Kai?" Nya asked, giving him a forced smile as she forced the bile back down her throat.

"I didn't use that much, sis," Kai said with a chuckle as he took a seat on one side of Nya. Across the table, Cole and Lloyd sat. Jay walked over to Nya and sat on the unoccupied seat next to her, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. Her cheeks lightly dusted with pink, despite the multitude of years that Jay had been giving the simple show of endearment.

Lloyd leaned back to address Zane, whose focus was on the pot that he was carrying from the kitchen. "What's on the menu for tonight, Zane?"

The master of ice grinned. "I found a recipe for beef stew that I wanted to try out. Everyone enjoyed the roast that I made last week so I figured that this would be a good way to experiment with different cuts of beef." Nya hid the grimace that almost showed on her face at the thought of eating the beef stew. It did not seem appetizing to her, even if it normally would have.

There were nods around the table as everyone understood that this meant more of Zane's cooking. The white ninja enjoyed having time to experiment with his cooking and the others were happy to not have to cook. Except for Cole. He was the only one who enjoyed cooking as much as Zane.

Zane began dishing out servings of the stew and went to grab Nya's bowl. She stopped him and said, "I'm actually not feeling too great. I think I'm just gonna go back to my room and lay down."

"Need me to help walk you back?" Jay glanced at his fiancée with concern, knowing that something was wrong.

Nya managed a nod as she stood from her seat. The room started spinning for her. She set her hands down on the table to steady herself, Jay stood by her side a moment later. He wrapped an arm around her waist, making eye contact with the others and gave a curt nod to let them know that he would make sure that Nya was okay. They slowly left the dining room with Nya leaning into Jay's side the entire way to her room. "I must be coming down with something. First the scent of Kai's shampoo makes me nauseous, then the stew makes me want to puke," she said as she sat on the side of her bed.

"You probably ate something bad when we went on our date last night. It happens," Jay said, hoping that it sounded reassuring enough. His usual chipper attitude had disappeared as his focus was entirely on Nya and why she wasn't feeling well. He urged her to lay down, promising to rub her back until she fell asleep.

Nya felt her ears burn at the thought of what she wanted from Jay. "Could you cuddle with me? I want your warmth and the feel of your arms around me."

His face softened and got hot at the same moment. He knew what the others could think if he spent too much time with Nya before returning to dinner. But he didn't care. His girl wanted him close and that was what he was going to give her. It was impossible for him to say no to her. Nya laid down and pulled her comforter up to invite Jay in. He got in next to her, draping an arm over her waist and sliding his other arm under her neck. Warmth radiated from him, calming Nya and helping her to relax. He couldn't care about what the others would think when he had everything he wanted right in front of him.

Nya did not want to move. She was warm and content with where she was at that moment. There could be a new villain trying to destroy Ninjago, and she wouldn't move an inch. She vaguely registered that there was weight behind her on the bed and that an arm was draped across her waist. Slow breaths tickled her neck. Nya shifted around to face Jay as he slept peacefully next to her, the slightest bit of drool on the corner of his mouth. He looked adorable.

Putting her hands underneath her so she could sit up, she realized that was a bad idea when she instantly felt the need to throw up. Luckily, she had a bathroom connected to her room. Not so luckily, Jay had decided to tighten his grip on her waist as he felt her moving. Nya tried to push the bile down her throat and gently lift Jay's arm from her. "Babe, I gotta go to the bathroom," she warned, knowing that if she waited too much longer, she wasn't going to make it to the toilet in time to puke up stomach acid. That seemed to do the trick as he loosened his grip just enough for Nya to slip out and run to the bathroom.

Jay's awakening was much less peaceful than Nya's. He was greeted by the sounds of his love puking into the toilet and dry heaving. He startled, his arms flailing as he rushed over to help Nya in any way that he could. He held her hair away from her face and slowly rubbed circles on her back. When Nya leaned upright after wiping her mouth with some toilet paper, Jay took the moment to speak. "How're you feeling?"

Nya sent him a look. "Like trash. Whatever contents I might have had in my stomach came up. Between the nausea, dizziness, and smell sensitivity, someone would think I'm pregnant." She gave a weak chuckle, hoping that Jay would smile and joke back.

His face paled, mind being drawn to a moment that could have been a cause for pregnancy. "Remember when the condom broke? That was a little over a month ago now."

Nya frowned. "But I'm also on the pill." She looked down, reassessing the words that she had said. "But that also isn't 100% effective. You don't think I actually could be…" The silence floating between the two was all the answer they needed to know that they both thought it was a distinct possibility. "I guess I should get a pregnancy test, then." Nya began to stand up, using Jay to leverage herself upwards when her stomach decided it needed to unleash its contents yet again. And so Jay continued to hold her hair and rub circles into her back.

There was silence this time around after Nya finished dry heaving the remainders of her stomach. They needed to be completely sure that Nya was pregnant before saying anything to the rest of the team. And that would require getting a test. And not getting caught in public buying a pregnancy test. Or three. One could never be too sure in this kind of situation. And they didn't want to be on the covers of tabloids all over Ninjago.

"What do you feel like eating? We need to make sure that you'll be able to hold it down." Jay had begun his mother henning of Nya. He was going to keep her and their little one okay.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and took a moment to think about what to eat. "Apple and cinnamon oatmeal should be fine. I think that's light enough." But first she needed to clean up and change out of yesterday's clothes. Jay kissed her cheek and left the room to prepare breakfast for the two of them. If she happened to actually be pregnant, they were in for an adventure.
