"I was a boat, stuck in a bottle that never got the chance to touch the sea."

Gray was sure his heart was beating so loud, anyone near him could hear it. He was nervous, his hands felt all sweaty and the deadly silence in the room didn't help calming him down either. To say he was a mess would be an understatement.

"Just forgot on the shelf, no wind in the sails, going nowhere with noone but me."

He was used to this feeling, even if he didn't like to admit it. He always felt out of place when he was surrounded by so many. Even though the faces looking back at him were so familiar, his friends, people he called family, it didn't stop the voice in his head telling him that this won't go well, that he will mess up and stand alone again.

"I was one in a hundred billion, a burned out star in the galaxy. Just lost in the sky, wondering why everyone else shines out but me."

He never really felt special, sometimes he'd look in the mirror and see a ghost. After losing his parents and his master Ur, the people he held the closest, the meaning of life changed for him and he couldn't find it in himself to see more in it.

"But I came to life when I first kissed you. The best me has his arms around you. You make me better than I was before, thank god I'm yours."

Gray felt his body relax when he felt her warm lips against his. Her arms were around his neck and they were both swaying their bodies to the music. When she pulled away, he looked down at her and all his worries, all the fear disappeared. She was smiling softly at him, assuring him without having to use words.

He remembered the day he meet her like it was yesterday. They were enemies, standing on opposite sides. So many things changed since then. He leaned his forehead against hers, smiling softly. The music surrounded them, the soft melody matching their dance. They got lost in each other's eyes, forgetting the world around them.

He had been scared to mess up their first dance, to step on her feet, to let her fall. The scenarios he made up in his head were endless. But here they were, almost having reached the end of the song. Gray let the lyrics sink in. It was perfect, it was their song.

He smiled thinking about how she changed him, the way she saved him without realizing it. The girl had turned his life around without knowing, giving him a purpose to live and helping him find new dreams and goals.

"I came to life when I first kissed you, the best me has his arms around you. You make me better than I was before.

Thank God, I'm yours."

When the song ended, their bodies stopped moving and the clapping around them started. But Gray didn't focus on them. All his attention was on the water mage who was smiling shyly, the girl he promised to protect and become worthy too. The girl he was now calling his wife.

"The worst me is just a long gone memory.

You put a new heartbeat inside of me. You make me better than I was before."

"I love you, Juvia."
