Hey guys! Here's another Classroom of the Elite story I came up with, focusing on something that was brought up during the story, which I wanted to resolve myself. Hope you like. :)
Disclaimer: I don't own Classroom of the Elite.
Airi Sakura held her digital camera in her shaking hands, gazing at it nervously through her glasses.
The shy girl was sat on a bench in the grounds of the school. Classes had just finished for the day and most of the students were going off to hang out with their friends, retire to their dormitories or spend their points on things they didn't really need. Those who knew the redhead assumed as they passed her that she was going to spend her evening alone. Being by herself was how she had chosen to spend her first term at the school.
Her classmates' predictions could not have been more wrong.
Airi Sakura had arranged to meet up with a friend she had made.
Yet she was unsure whether he would actually show up to see her. A worried gaze crossed her face as she gazed down at her camera as she held it before her. Her heart raced rapidly as the person she was supposed to meet entered her mind. The timid girl had her doubts that she was going to see him again that evening now that their classes were over.
"I'm sure he wouldn't wanna meet up with me..." Sakura murmured to herself. "Why should he? He's probably got far better things to do. A awesome, cool guy like him wouldn't wanna spend his free time with a quiet, mousey girl like me-"
"Hey, Sakura."
The girl halted her soft rambling upon hearing a voice come from in front of her which made her jump. She tensed up in fear that the person it belonged to had heard her talking to herself. Instantly knowing who it was, she lifted her gaze - causing her blue eyes to sparkle at the sight of the person she had arranged to meet.
A tiny smile found it's way onto Sakura's sweet face.
"Good evening, Ayanōkoji..."
Sure enough, Kiyotaka Ayanōkoji was standing before her. The brunette gazed down towards the redhead with his regular blank expression. However he felt about meeting up with the shy girl, he gave away no hints as he observed her with his emotionless golden eyes.
"I got your instant message that said you wanted to meet up after class," he said in his usual monotone voice. "What's up?"
"Well, uh..." Sakura felt he cheeks heating up as they turned as red as her hair while her hammering heart picked up speed. "There's something that I really ... really wanna do with you."
"Are you in some kind of trouble?"
The question which the boy had just asked her made Sakura calm down as he gaze softened. It was a sign of exactly why she liked Ayanōkoji. Although he didn't give away any emotions, it was clear that he cared about her. The young man before her was always looking out for her, giving her solid advice - and had even saved her life from a stalker. Sakura spent her first school term convinced she had no friends there - yet she had found out through Ayanōkoji coming to her rescue that she had made one without even realising.
"No..." Sakura shook her head. "I'm not in any trouble..."
"Are you sure?" Ayanōkoji asked. "You know you can tell me if you are, Sakura."
"Yes ... I truly know that now. I really am grateful you have my back, Ayanōkoji." Sakura smiled as she placed a hand onto her heart. "However, I can assure you that I'm not in trouble this time..."
"Then..." Ayanōkoji raised an eyebrow. "What did you wanna meet me for?"
Still with her one hand over her chest, Sakura raised up her other one - which was holding up her digital camera.
"You remember when we were on the island with the school for that test - and I said I wished I had my camera to take a picture of you?"
Ayanōkoji nodded, affirming he did indeed remember the moment she was reminding him of.
"Well..." Sakura blushed again, lowering her gaze as her nerves took over her again. "Could I please take a picture of you now?"
"Sure."
A soft surprised gasp escaped Sakura. Her eyes widened behind her glasses. She was astounded by the answer she had received to her request.
Ayanōkoji had said yes without hesitating. He hadn't even taken some time to think about his answer. No excuses had come from him of why he didn't want to let her do what she wanted. He was perfectly willing to let Sakura use her camera to take a picture of him.
"Are you sure?" Sakura inquired. "I mean, it's fine if you don't want to. I completely understand-"
"It's cool," Ayanōkoji assured her. "You said back on the island you wanted to get a pic of me. Now you can do that since you have your camera with you."
Sakura's eyes twinkled. Her face was filled with delight over how Ayanōkoji was honoring her request. He was right in that she now had the perfect opportunity to take a photograph of him. It was best she did not throw this chance away.
"Thank you..." She smiled brightly up at the boy - before her cheeks went even more rosey as her shyness tried to keep a grip on her. "Um... Would you mind if I went in the picture with you? Y'know, like a selfie?"
"Why not? It's your camera and your picture of me. If you wanna jump in, you do that."
Ayanōkoji's encouraging words were enough for Sakura to break free of her nervousness. She was delighted that he was perfectly prepared to let him take a picture of the two of them together. Never had the young photographer taken a selfie with another person. It made her extremely happy that her first one was going to be with this precious friend of hers.
"Thank you!" she cried happily. "Thank you so much, Ayanōkoji! I truly appreciate it!"
Ayanōkoji said nothing. He just watched as the short girl stood alongside him. Despite not giving away any emotion, he was glad he was able to make her feel happy. Unlike the rest of his schoolmates, he genuinely did care about Sakura. There was no way he intended to use her as a tool for his own goal. He couldn't bring himself to do that to the sweet, innocent girl.
Standing next to the tall boy, Sakura raised her camera in her hand. She pointed it towards them, making sure Ayanōkoji would be in the frame as well as herself.
"Okay then!" she said cheerfully, making her pose for the image about to be captured of her and her friend. "Smile!"
Ayanōkoji fixed his gaze towards the camera. His expression seemed to give off no signs of changing - as Sakura pressed the button to take the picture.
Click!
"Picture perfect!"
The glow of her laptop screen revealed Sakura was still smiling brightly. The redhead was now in her dormitory on the school grounds. She was sitting at her computer, observing the image she had just uploaded from her digital camera.
It was the picture she had taken of herself and Ayanōkoji. It felt so surreal to the shy girl to have taken a selfie with her friend. She had never thought she would make any acquaintances at the school - let alone one who happened to be a boy.
She observed the pose she had made for the picture. The young lady had winked in the direction of the camera while holding up her free hand to make a peace sign. It was unbelievable that she could look so confident in front of a camera - something which she always struggled to feel when around her classmates.
That was something which the boy who had joined her for the picture had promised to help her with.
Still smiling, Sakura looked to where Ayanōkoji was in the image. He appeared to have made no attempt to pull a photo face or make a pose. It didn't matter to her. She was just grateful to finally have the picture of him she had desired. She was just thinking of how amazing he looked in front of her camera - when she suddenly noticed something which caught her eye.
"Hey!" she exclaimed. "Is Ayanōkoji...?"
As her voice trailed off, she clicked away on the mouse attached to her laptop. The screen began to zoom in on the picture. It closed in specifically on Ayanōkoji's face. As it moved further and further towards him, Sakura's eyes widened in astonishment - upon discovering what the camera had picked up which she hadn't been able to notice without closer inspection.
"Well..." The quiet girl smiled softly to herself. "What do you know?"
Now that the laptop screen had zoomed in on Ayanōkoji, she was able to get a better look at the face he was making for the picture. Instead of gazing towards the camera with his usual blank expression, he had managed to curl the corners of his lips slightly upwards. It was something no one else in the school had ever seen him do before. Sakura was sure she had to be the first to see it - and she highly felt it made all the difference to his face.
There was no doubt in the shy girl's mind that while having his picture taken with her, Ayanōkoji had subtly yet certainly pulled a smile.
Well, that's that. I decided to let Sakura finally get the picture of Ayanōkoji she had wanted to take back on the island. I hope this was satisfying for you! :)
Thanks for reading! Bye for now!
