Once More to See You

The sun began to sink under the horizon, casting shadows behind the park trees. It was almost time to head home. Touko knew this, and Yuu was aware of it too; they just weren't ready to leave yet.
"Hey…"
Touko turned to see Yuu looking straight back at her, her bright eyes thoughtful.
"What is it, Yuu?"
They had been hiding their true feelings for each other for as long as they both could remember. It was out of both stubbornness and pride, as if love was a weakness. Yuu knew that wasn't the case at all. Touko couldn't hide how she felt again.
That was easy to say, but not easy to do.
"I never noticed this before, but your eyes look pretty in the sunset."
Yuu smiled and inched closer to Touko, her hands gently upon the other girl's, the warmth a comfort between them.
Touko felt her cheeks grow hot, but she let a small smile grow on her features. Her fingers threaded through Yuu's own, grasping gently.
"I was just thinking the same about your eyes, Yuu." Touko replied, and Yuu couldn't help but giggle.
They both looked upwards to the sky. They didn't want this to end, not just yet.
