Author's Note: I just recently got into writing and figured a gamer story would be a good place to start. Not sure if I will continue after this but I sure hope to. Sorry for any grammar problems in this Chapter.

It's Dark as far as the eye can see.

I can't see anything.

I tried to talk but I couldn't. I tried to move but it was like my body stopped functioning, or rather just wasn't there at all. It's as if I am just a soul floating in an endless void with no body to speak of, no mouth to make words with.

But where am I? How did I get Here? Am I dead? Is this the afterlife? An endless void.

I am dead, nothing else can explain my current situation. But I don't remember Dieing. As a matter of fact I can't remember much at all. I mean I remember having a family but for the life of me I can't remember names or faces. It's as if my memory was wiped of everything but what living was like.

Entertainment and the Daily necessities of life are all I can recale.

Why though, was my life not that memerabe, or have I simply forgotten what I once new with the passage of time in this void.

I want out.

Welcome

Who. What. Hello who is-

I am the God System

The god system. Why are you here. Are you God?

You have been selected as a Great Soul.

A Great Soul, what's that? What makes mine so great?

Great Souls are souls created from great concepts such as Space and Time. Your soul just like many others was also created from a great concept. It is because of this you have been selected to join the Great Soul Group.

Souls are created from concepts then, like in the fate series. I can somewhat understand that, but what is the Great Soul Group?

The GSG and Myself as an extension were created by the first Great Soul to attain the status of Omni and became a God.

So you are like a God's will. But I still don't understand why they would do all of this. Why was I selected?

My Creator created all of this to better understand the Omniverse and its Mysteries. As for you. As a Great Soul yourself you have been selected to help him in this endeavor.

So he wants to control me and force me to work for him, but I don't even have a body. And why should I even Participate in this? I'm already dead.

The creator does not seek to control, but to create. Create Omni Beings such as himself. As for you, well you will be given back your body in just a moment and placed into a world with the power of a system where your future growth will be possible.

So I get to live again. I can become like your creator and be a god.

Yes. Now then I will be leaving, but before that here is the system power you are selected for. It will calculate your strength and skills. It will also grant you some extra privileges in the form of your new life and body to choose from.

Goodbye.

Wait. what type of world am I going to.

Ping!

Greetings Host! I am a Gamer System.

You have been chosen to receive two Perks on your journey. Choosing wisely for this can very much make or break your future development.

Uhh this is so confusing, but at the same time this is great I get to live again. For some reason I still can't remember much. The God System told me I would be going to a world that will be great for my future development, but what does that even mean?

Aggh! I just remembered. My name was Nickolas Solis, and as far back as I could remember I wanted to live forever. I think it started on the way to a fishing trip with my dad and his girlfriend when I was seven. On the way to the lake I had a full blown existential crisis in the back of his shity mustang. It was like all in a single moment I realized death was a thing and I had to deal with the fact that after being alive there might be nothing waiting.

After that came a couple more less big existential crises, like asking a friend of mine at school if anything really existed and if he existed when I didn't see him. He seemed quite confused at that.

At some point in High school I realized the gravity of my situation. You see in highschool you take a class called biology where you learn all about evolution and how complex life is, and it was in these classes where I decided I will do everything in my power to live forever.

After that I went to college to study Biology and threw myself into learning everything I could about the lifespan of everything that existed. I went so far as to study some physics and learn about the life span of non biological things like elements and human constructions just to see if they could be helpful to my research into the human lifespan.

So I had just recently graduated from college with my masters in Biology. I had even written my thesis on the lifespan of different species and how they can be affected by external sources. My work received high praise from my professors, and many job offers from different companies, but I wished to stay at my college as a professor and do my own research though so I turned them all down.

That's when it happened. I was killed, when I was on my way to interview with the university's hiring council. I was hit by a car, and had all my dreams of increasing my lifespan to live forever squashed in a single moment by a reckless driver who didn't pay attention to the road and killed me while I was crossing the street.

But now I can do it. With this gamer system I could achieve all my goals from my last life, and according to the God System that is the whole point of the gamer system. Immortality.

Also the Gamer system is reminiscent of some overpowered characters ability in something I remember reading. If it is the same as what I recall, I really have no reason to worry. I can heal myself by sleeping and level up skills insanely fast like I'm in a video game.

This is great! I will become a god with this power and explore countless worlds. HAHAHA. I always wanted to be an adventurer, but was always too busy studying. Now I get a second chance at life in a new world with an overpowered skill.

I better figure out my perks and how this system works soon so I can get on with my second life and get the heck out of this Void.

How do I choose my perks though?

Hello. Perks.

This is not exactly what I expected. At Least solving what world I will be going to isn't a problem. If Magic Circuits and Origin is anything to go by I must be going to the Fateverse. Did the God system hear my remark about the similarity of how souls are created and decide it would be a good place to start.

I guess going there makes a lot of sense especially if what I thought was true. All I have to do is figure out my Origin and whatever concept I was created from will be revealed to me.

This is great. I get a second chance at life and get to learn magic HAHA. Why would I ever be upset about this. Magic is something everyone wished to learn in my previous life and now I get to actually do it.

My every Desire is possible now in this new life. I have one main goal now Figure out the concept I was Created from and become a God, an Immortal being.

Yes that is what I want Immortality. Undying. Eternal.

Why would I strive for anything less? I shall do everything in my power to accomplish my goal. I will train in my every waking moment. I will do everything in my power to achieve more power. One day I will become a God.

HA. Am I just crazy, Or perhaps this is a natural human reaction to the chance of power and immortality. There were people alive in my old world that would give an arm for just two more years of life. Then isn't it normal for me to feel this way then. I can achieve immortality through the practice of magic and the system so why wouldn't I do it.

There's no point in wasting any more time.

System show me my perks.

You are granted two of the following perks. They range from more power to a better background. As you venture into your next life these perks will help you immensely.

[Mystic eyes]: You were born with a random pair of Mystic eyes. Its usage can range from charming someone with a glance to the eyes of a God that can see the future.

[Magical Talent]: Born with at least 40 (B) quality magical circuits. (which equals 400 Od and 4000 units of magical energy capable of flowing through your circuit.) Skills involving magic become 50% cheaper. The average Magician has 20 (C) quality Magical circuits. (Which equals 200 Od and 1000 units of magical energy.)

[Control]: You have a perfect memory. You can keep all your emotions under control. Your magical abilities can never be interrupted by anything other than True Magics. No one can read or control your mind.

[Reality Marble]: During an experiment a genius magician succeeded in creating the reality marble of a hero, but died from the experiment. On the way home you discover it lying in the grass by a park and successfully fuse with it.

[Hero's Descendant]: you are the descendant of a hero. You are born with one skill of the hero. Your family has in their possession one of the hero's weapons that is thought to be lost or destroyed.

[Family Man]: You are the next heir to a powerful magical family, and will receive a magic crest upon turning 12. Your family will have certained magics they are skilled at giving you a headstart above other rising magicians.

[Dead Already]: You will be born a dead apostle, and have all the skills that come with being one.

[Main Man]: You become one of the main characters of the story at the start of canon. You will have their skills and abilities.

[Researcher]: Since the moment you got your hands on a book of magical theory you have been obsessed with its inner workings. You are born with a genius level IQ and more intune with the research of magic than most.

Damn. This is going to be harder than I thought. There are just so many good choices, but I only get to choose two.

How should I choose, I guess I can just pick some of the best and then way the pros and cons after.

So first is [Mystic Eyes]. This perk seems great at first glance, but then I can't help but remember that a lot of mystic eyes can actually be created and the Eyes I will receive from it could be something easily attainable when I'm alive again.

So a no to Mystic Eyes then.

Next would be [Magical Talent]. This is definitely passing the first round of selection. I will admit though I will have to find out how Mana, Od, and Magical Circuits work when I start studying magic because it seems quite confusing from this perks description.

Anyways, Magical Talent definitely passes.

Onto [Control] then. This one is quite annoying. It's pretty much telling me I won't have the Gamers mind skill meaning staying alive will be much more difficult. Is this perk worth it though? The only thing that seems good about it is not being interrupted, but then again that alone can't compare to most of the other perks.

Failed. I guess I won't have the Gamers Body either huh. This is not good. What else is nerfed in this version of the gamer system.

[Reality Marble] this one definitely passes. The only thing wrong with it is the randomness of the hero it is based on.

It passes. For now.

Hmm [Hero's Descendant]. I will admit that being some hero's descendant and having a weapon of theirs would be cool, but it just doesn't feel right. If I am to live this next life how I want I don't want to be seen as nothing but just some other hero's descendant.

Call it arrogance but this one Fails.

[Family Man]. This one is a quick pass. Having a magic crest in the future and a mage family as my background in my new life will be a great boost.

Next is [Dead apostle]. Again just like mystic eyes it seems good at first but seriously I want nothing to do with those lunatics, and not having the executioners coming after me every second would be a good idea. The only upside to this is Immortality, but it is a weak one that I am pretty sure I can replicate later if needed.

Fail. No point in being Immortal if I can still be killed.

[Main Man] another bad one. Why would I want to be a main character when I could create my own legacy in this new world. As for the grail war, well I will just join one of them and get a wish through my own effort.

I will Fail this one too.

Now then [Researcher], probably the most likely perk that I will end up choosing. I mean with this perk I will one day be able to achieve the perks Mystic Eyes and Reality Marble on my own.

As a matter of fact, System for my first perk I choose [Researcher].

Ding! First Perk chosen. Please choose one more perk for your new life.

Yes. This is the right decision, with this perk I will be able to achieve so much more then I would just relying on canon knowledge.

Not to mention everyone in this universe who has attained a True Magic are amazing researchers in their respective fields, and with my background of biology this perk will be of great help.

I also will be needing to research my Origin and see if it has anything to do with my so-called Great Soul.

Now then. My last choice is between [Magical Talent], [Family Man], and [Reality Marble].

At this point [Reality Marble] is out. There's no point in wasting my last perk on something that I can create in the future.

As for the other two, while [Magical Talent] would be a great boon on my journey to power. The [Family Man] perk guarantees a Magic Crest and the background of a mage family, meaning I will probably already be talented through my new family's bloodline.

Considering what I know about the fateverse. The Families with hiers that turn out to have weak magic are usually replaced by a younger sibling or cousin. Meaning I will most likely be born with enough magical talent to inherit my family's magic crest.

It's decided then. System for my second perk I choose [Family Man].

Last perk decided. Goodluck Great Soul.
