So, guys... I must confess, I'm working on two big things right now. But I thought, while you're waiting for those to be finished, why not give some interesting stories? Each chapter will be a different ship, and each chapter will be separate unless I specify that a chapter is related to another. Some chapters may only have one ship, some may have more than one. Some will be happy, some may not be. Some may be based on songs, some may not. I also won't have a regular posting time; I'll just post whenever I feel like it, so be on the lookout! Anyway, I'm sure I've bored you with the details long enough, so let's get started!
Setting; PP1, after the ICCA's
Chloe sighs as she looks around at the auditorium for the last time. She knows she has to graduate, even if she doesn't want to. She almost considered failing a class intentionally, but figured her mom would kill her if she did. The thing is, she knows exactly why she wants to stay so badly. For the longest time, she had herself convinced that it was because she didn't want to leave the Bellas. But she realized the real reason why a week ago. When she truly felt her heart break for the first time.
It's Beca.
Now that she thinks about it, it's always been Beca. Now she knows why it hurt so much to watch her flirt with Jesse. To watch her kiss Jesse. Because now she knows she's in love with Beca Mitchell. That day, when Beca walked past the booth, and Chloe shoved a flyer at her, was the best day of Chloe's life.
Well, the second best. Chloe would argue that the day she burst into Beca's shower is truly the best thing that's ever happened to her. Not only did she get to hear her sing, she had to admit Beca's gorgeous. At the time, it was scary for Chloe; she'd never had thoughts like that about a woman. She never ruled it out, she just never considered it. But Beca changed her life in many ways, and Chloe knows she'll never be the same because of her.
Seeing as she's alone, Chloe decides to sing one last song before she leaves Barden forever. It's technically a duet, but it perfectly describes how she feels.
You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
I know you want me
So don't keep saying our hands are tied
You claim it's not in the cards
Fate is pulling you miles away
And out of reach from me
But you're here in my heart
So who can stop me if I decide that you're my destiny?
She can feel the tears starting to form already, but she keeps singing, past memories with Beca flashing through her mind with each line she sings. She never realizes that a certain, tiny brunette is watching her from the doorway, a mix of emotions running through her as well.
What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were meant to be mine?
Nothing could keep us apart
You'd be the one I was meant to find
It's up to you, and it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
So why don't we rewrite the stars?
Maybe the world could be ours
Tonight
Chloe gasps in shock and whirls around, wiping the tears from her eyes quickly when she hears Beca join in, singing Zendaya's part of the duet.
You think it's easy
You think I don't want to run to you
But there are mountains
And there are doors that we can't walk through
Beca takes a hesitant step inside, refusing to look at her best friend as she continues to sing. She doesn't understand it, but she can tell that this time is something different. This moment means something more. She knows she has a crush on Chloe, but she never realized until now just how much she likes her.
I know you're wondering why
Because we're able to be
Just you and me
Within these walls
But when we go outside
You're gonna wake up and see that it was hopeless after all
By the time Beca gets to the chorus, she's in front of Chloe. She can feel her looking at her, but she continues to sing to the ground, too scared to let Chloe know just how much she means when she sings this song with her.
No one can rewrite the stars
How can you say you'll be mine?
Everything keeps us apart
And I'm not the one you were meant to find
It's not up to you
It's not up to me
When everyone tells us what we can be
How can we rewrite the stars?
Say that the world can be ours
Tonight
Chloe suddenly grabs Beca's wrist, and Beca looks up at her. They start dancing in a small circle as the sing together, Beca finally making eye contact. Now that Chloe has Beca where she wants her, she refuses to look away. They spin in circles together, just staring into each other's eyes.
All I want is to fly with you
All I want is to fall with you
So just give me all of you
Beca and Chloe start singing louder, letting their love and compassion fill their voices. By this moment, they both understand their feelings for each other, and how the other feels. They both know that nothing will ever be the same between them now. But neither of them cares; they're too wrapped up in the music to think of anything other than singing and each other. At this exact moment.
It feels impossible (it's not impossible)
Is it impossible?
Say that it's possible?
They both pause, catching their breath for a minute. Chloe risks giving Beca a smile, and Beca returns it before launching back into the song.
How do we rewrite the stars?
Say you were meant to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart
'Cause you are the one I was meant to find
It's up to you
And it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
And why don't we rewrite the stars?
Changing the world to be ours
Neither one realizes they were inching closer to each other until they pause; they can feel each other's breath on their faces. Beca glances down at Chloe's lips, wondering what it would be like to kiss her. If it'd be better than kissing Jesse-
Jesse.
Now she remembers why she can't do this.
She sighs, then continues with the last stanza, internally screaming out at herself for being such an idiot.
You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
But I can't have you
We're bound to break and my hands are tied
Not wanting to risk another glance, she looks down and shoves her hands in her pockets. She stands there for a second, and she knows Chloe's giving her a confused- and possibly hopeful look.
"Beca? Please tell me that meant something to you." Chloe finally asks, her hands practically shaking from nerves. Their voices had sounded better than ever together on this song, and somehow, she knows Beca loves her just as much as Chloe loves her. She saw the way Beca looked at her lips. She never saw her do this to Jesse-
Jesse.
Chloe sighs when Beca doesn't answer. But she knows she won't get an answer. It's Beca. She's dating Jesse, the freshman Treblemaker that won over her heart before Chloe could. No, she sees that's not true now. He just managed to actually do something about his feelings for the small brunette than she did.
Beca sighs at the same time Chloe does. She can't do this. She should be with her boyfriend right now. She shouldn't be confessing her love to her best friend. She knows it'll never work, even if Chloe does love her back.
"I have to go." Beca blurts out, then turns and starts to run out of the building. She doesn't even notice the rest of the Bellas standing there, watching the scene unfold.
"Beca, wait!" Chloe calls out, and against her better judgment, Beca freezes. She doesn't turn around though, and she doesn't answer.
Luckily for Chloe, an answer from Beca isn't what she's looking for. She marches in front of Beca and steals herself before she can chicken out and miss what might possibly be her last chance. She gingerly grabs Beca's face, then presses her lips against the younger girls.
Beca surprises everyone in the room, herself included, by kissing Chloe back with everything she has. All thoughts of Jesse and why she can't love Chloe completely disapparate as she kisses her back.
After what feels like an eternity, Chloe pulls away, resting her forehead on Beca's and panting a little. She offers her a grin, which Beca returns. "I can't believe I just did that." Chloe chuckles, still in awe.
"I can't either." Beca responds. "I'm gonna break up with Jesse."
"What?"
Beca nods. She wasn't sure about it originally, but now she knows it's the only way she can be truly happy. "I kissed him because I thought it was the right thing to do. Because it was the perfect movie ending." She cringes at her own words. "But now I realize it was the wrong thing to do. For me, anyway. Because it wasn't Jesse I wanted to be kissing that night. It was you."
"Oh, Beca." Chloe's rendered speechless, so she kisses Beca again.
"FINALLY!" Fat Amy screams out, scaring literally everyone in the room. Several of the girls scream, Chloe included. Beca and Chloe jump away from each other, both blushing furiously under the looks of their family. "I can't believe it took you two this long to admit how you felt! Shawshank, when you kissed puppy-boy, I wanted to slap you." Fat Amy then looks around to the rest of the girls. "Pay up, pitches!"
The girls groan and all start handing her money. Beca and Chloe just stare at the Aussie in shock.
"Wanna get out of here?" Chloe whispers in Beca's ear, and Beca nods gratefully. They manage to get out almost completely unnoticed; Aubrey sees them slip out, but decides not to say anything; she just shakes her head, a fond smile on her face as she watches the two run off together.
"About time, right guys?" Stacie asks, and the others nod and laugh in agreement. About time indeed.
