A weak applause went across the assembly hall of Our Lady Immaculate College as Jenny Joyce & her acapella group finished what was yet another cringe-worthy song about god knows what (no-one was really listening)
"Thank you girls" Sister Michael began
She stood from her seated position at the side of stage, moving towards the podium
"For another song to put on my banned list" she added under her breath yet clear enough for everyone to hear
Jenny looked rather affronted as she got off the stage, taking her place in the front row with the Head Girl & other Prefects
"I have one announcement, a reminder of sorts" Sister Michael announced, "The girls in fifth year, along with the fifth year boys from Christian Brothers will be going on a camp out this weekend to raise awareness & fundraise for the local homeless charity. May I remind you all to have your permission forms & fundraising sheets returned to Miss Mooney by Wednesday at the latest. That is all"
There was mixed reactions from Erin & her friends as they joined the drove of students leaving the assembly hall. Orla was probably the most excited about the trip, talking to the others about survival camping, tracking wild animals & burying your poop. James was excited too, but for a different reason. He hoped that he could make friends with some of the boys from Christian Brothers. Going to an all-girls school was challenging but at the same time he hoped they wouldn't beat him up because he's English. Michelle also had her mind on the Christian Brothers boys, hoping to eye out the best ride & have a little fun of her own. Erin wasn't fussed either way, she was just glad to be spending time with her friends. And lastly Clare was well, being Clare. She was already anxious & nervous to begin with & the whole idea of camping out had her going into full cack attack mode. Yet the others were going & not one for being individual on her own, Clare would just have to go along with it
