Yo fam! Azai here, with a Pokémon SI-OC! I tried my hand at this a life time ago (Around 5 - 7 months) and when I reread it... It was mediocre at best. And absolutely horrible at its worst! I gave me a lot of cringe when I looked at it. While my grammar was okay, I guess, the story sucked!I appreciate those who followed and favorite it, but looking back, what made you guys like it? Was it the fact that I was hyping for Giselle, a side character in the anime, as a main character? Was it Yellow's appearance? I dunno.

Then there was the easy captures. I shudder when I read Poseidon's (Shiny Horsea) capture, and where my SI was starting... Ugh, cringe.

As of why I'm writing this, well... This is a different take on the SI-OC. My SI-OC this time around will have a personality more like me, but not really at the same time. The Green Horizon SI was totally different from me, so it wasn't technically an SI. Second, if you hadn't noticed from the title, my SI will focus on Ground-Types first.

... What? Why Ground-Types and not the Water-Type Specialist I also hinted? Because there are too many Water-Type Specialists known to us. It's as if all regions had a Water-Type Specialist. Ya dig? Pun intended, by the way. Don't worry, he'll also do secondary Type Specializing.

Thirdly, I too am actually fascinated by the Ground-Types right now, so it fits.

With that out of the way, here.

Disclaimer: Pokémon is not mine. Do I need any explanation?

A golden throne room.

I... Why am I here?

I mean, this looks cool and all, but I don't remember going here. The last thing I remember was falling asleep. Why am I now in this epic place that would remind me of the Greek God Apollo?

Then, in a flash of light, this dude appears, sitting on the magnificent golden throne.

He was only wearing rolled-up yellow pants that had red suspenders, and a pair of boots. There were a pair of goggles on his neck, and on his head was a white suncap. A red satchel rested on his side, a blue white striped wristband on his left arm, and he also had some kind of headphone thing going on, but his face made me gape.

His lips were quite... Prominent. Yes, Prominent. His woolley black hair was like an afro at the back of his head. He had a goatee, and a long nose.

Wait.

A long nose.

"An Usopp look-alike...?"

The dude pouted. "I'm not a look-alike," he exclaimed, "I'm the REAL DEAL!"

I blinked. Was this guy serious?

"I'M SERIOUS!" he shouted with an angry face.

I came to a conclusion at this point. 'I'm having a dream,' I foolishly thought. Usopp mimicked an X motion and said, "Nope, this isn't a dream. You did, kid." I raised an eyebrow. Who would believe a character that lied almost everytime?

The brave pirate sighed, "I knew my other's reputation would bite me in the ass one day," he muttered to himself. His other? Don't tell me...

"Yep. The Multiverse Theory is real, kid."

I snorted. Of course my dream would be something like an Isekai.

"Welp, whatever, time to rip the band-aid," he said. He snapped his fingers, and a television appeared. It showed me... My burnt body. My eyes widened, and I felt something warm coming out of my mouth. A trash can appeared next to me, and I took solace in it.

I started vomiting, and the pirate stated, "You forgot to close the gas when you finished baking that, hm," he pondered for a while, "Sans Rival, if I'm not wrong. A great name too, meaning unrivaled. Back to your death, at the stroke of midnight, you went to the kitchen to refill your jug of water, and BAM! The gas tank exploded, taking you with it!" he explained.

Then reality kicked in.

'I... killed myself.'

I stared at the trash can I was holding, my vomit in there. My memories flooded to me, and all I heard was my screaming. And the raging fire. With a shaky breath I asked, "A-and m-my..."

"They're fine," the Sniper King replied, "The Firefighters reached your house before the fire could spread. Your mom and your siblings are alright."

I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. "T-that's g-good..."

"So," Usopp said. "You up for a reincarnation, kid?"

"I... I guess..." I reluctantly reply. But still, I had to ask. "H-how are you going to reincarnate me...?" The Sniper King snapped his fingers, and there was... A Wheel of Fortune? "Wheel of Fortune! Each color and number duo represent the Universe you're being sent to! Even how you get inserted! A take-over, a born as a character, a merging of souls and memories, and more!" he exclaimed. I sweat-dropped at his car salesman voice. "All I have to do is spin?" he nodded at my question.

'Well, here we go, I guess.' I spin the wheel with all my energy. It kept spinning and spinning, until it landed on the beige section.

Usopp raised his eyebrow. "Oh, beige huh? That's a good one," he commented. "That world, while somewhat dangerous, I think you'll be fine. No need for you to get powers."

I frowned at that, 'What does he mean?' I decided not to voice it out.

He patted my shoulder, "Good luck in this world!" With his other hand, he snapped his fingers. There was a blinding flash of light, and I fell unconscious.

I woke up in a hospital room. I sighed. I knew why I was here.

My name is Demeter Easton. I am an aspiring Pokémon Trainer, living in Lavaridge Town, Hoenn. My mother, Rhea, was a kind and hard working woman. When she heard of my aspiration, she partook in many part-time jobs in order for me to get by. She was one of the best people I ever met.

And recently, she had died.

From overwork, the doctors said. She couldn't keep up from the stress of the work. It piled up on her in the end.

And it was my fault.

So, I ran. I ran and I ran, farther from Town, until I bumped into a Pokémon. A Wild Ursaring, to be exact. Now, I don't know what an Ursaring was doing around Lavaridge, but that didn't matter at the time. It attacked me. My chest had been slashed, and I knew it was the end.

But Mr. Moore saved me.

Before the Ursaring could end me, Ignatius Moore, the Former Elite Four member, had apparently chased after me when I ran. His granddaughter Flannery, is my childhood friend, you see. She must have been worried sick.

Mr. Moore's Typlosion was strong. Undoubtedly so. It defeated the Ursaring with just a single move. I blacked out at that point, but I'm guessing one of Mr. Moore's Pokémon carried me to the hospital.

And now we're here. Demeter Easton and , souls and memories merged.

I was wearing a hospital gown right now, but from 's memories, I look like a Bishounen. My eyes looked sharp, and they were emerald green, opposed to 's onyx. My hair was spikey and maroon. It reminded me of the show RWBY. It was Ruby Rose' s Volume 7 hair. It suited me. It's also different from 's curly black hair.

I sighed. I was an idiot. Both of 'me' are idiots. I... I want to keep the name Demeter Easton, for two main reasons. One, the only other name I'm attuned to is , but I don't think that I'll use it. I need to move on from my death. Using that name will only hinder my progress in healing. I can't go back to my world. After all, I was dead in there.

Second, I wish to keep the name Mom had given me. While I will not forget my other family and that they will forever be in my heart, they are not here. I don't want to live the rest of my life depressed. I will have certain days that will remind me of them, mind you.

So until my next death, I am Demeter Easton, and I will be addressed as such.

Once I've recollected my thoughts, I think back on my dream. To become one of the best archeologists. To explore the world, to learn more about the history here in the world of Pokémon. And to study the Fossil Pokémon.

After a lot of deliberation, I've decided that I will be a Type Specialist.

A Type Specialist is a trainer who specializes in a specific typing. Take Drake Ainsworth, the current Ever Grande Champion, for example. He is a Dragon-Type Specialist. He is extremely talented in training Pokémon of the Dragon-Type.

I plan on specializing on Ground-Types. They have fascinated me since I fought Giovanni in the games, and when I repeated my playthrough in FireRed, I only used Ground-Types. Yes, I ditched my Starter then.

There's also the fact that most ruins can be located in deserts. Ground-Types have no problem traversing through those kind of places.

There's also a Pokémon that I originally planned on catching, but am now having second thoughts. Its Final Evolution loses its Ground typing for another. Perhaps I'll add my specialty? A thought for another day.

I heard the sound of the door opening. A feminine voice was closing in on me. I sighed once again.

And that's that. The prologue for "Down to Earth!" It's short, I know, but I plan on writing longer ones for every chapter after this. Around 4k every chapter. I've also started online school, so the updates may be a little slow. At worst, a chapter around every 1—2 months. At best though, every week.Anyways, I'd appreciate to hear your thoughts on this. Until next time! Azai out!
