Vibrating… With joy?

Day 1:
Dear diary, I have noticed a strange change in my behavior over the last months. It always happens when I feel comfortable or warm. It's a very distinctive vocalization that I make. To be honest, it always makes me a little bit embarrassed. My only fear is that Sonic would find out about this, what if he makes fun of me? It has been tense, but I'm hoping for the best. I'm going to get ready for the day ahead of me, Tails signing off…
The young fox closed his diary, as he grabbed the book, and placed it under the mattress of his bed. He slipped his feet into his favorite slippers, which he wore every morning. He quickly rushed downstairs, his excitement of the day ahead almost making him trip.
The kitsune's face shone with happiness, as his big bro Sonic approached the little fox with a warm and welcoming hug. But then, the thing that Tails feared the most, happened in the most inappropriate moment possible…
*Mrrrrrrpppp*, the vocalization spread throughout the room, with a total silence following the act.
Sonic looked confused, as he smiled a bit, resting his arm on the fox's shoulder, "Did you just…. Purr? Tails?".
The kitsune began to feel very nervous, the sweating and the situation began to take hold on Tails' actions. "Could… I need to go to the bathroom Sonic…" The golden fox rushed through the room and closed the door behind him as fast as he could. "Dumb fox, dumb!" He began to yell to himself.
"Tails are you ok?" Sonic asked, he seemed a little worried about the abrupt ending of their interaction.
"Yeah, I'm fine! Just needed to go urgently!" The kitsune sighed in relief.
"Oh… Ok then… Breakfast is ready by the way!"
The fox ran out of the bathroom with the same speed he'd entered it and sat at the table. "You could have told me sooner Sonic!" As he started to eat his beloved pancakes.
"So….. Did you purr there?" Sonic asked, causing Tails to choke a little while swallowing the food.
"No… Why? I didn't hear anything…" The fox continued with the unforgettable luncheon he was having at the moment.
"Well if you say so little buddy, you stay there eating, don't worry…" Sonic rushed up-stairs, proceeding into one of his daily activities, making Tails' bed…
"Oh… What a mess this little fox has made…" Sonic mused to himself as he began to clean the kitsune's bed, but the hedgehog noticed a small object poking out of the mattress, a book…
Sonic grabbed the leather notebook in his hands, "Tails has a diary?", he flicked through the pages and began to read the content.
"This is so adorable, why didn't Tails tell me sooner?" He asked himself, scratching his head slowly. He heard footsteps approaching, as he closed the book quickly and hid it under the mattress again. Sonic kept cleaning Tails' room and acted like nothing at all happened.
"Sonic is everything ok? You have been in here for a little longer than usual…" The fox seemed nervous, most likely because of his diary.
"Everything fine little fox…" Sonic approached him with another of his warm hugs, but not just because to show Tails how much he loved him, but also to test the theory of his distinctive "vocalizations".
And then it happened again, *Mrrrrrrpppp*.The kitsune purred as loud as he could, but exposing him-self, with clear evidence, Sonic began to chuckle, and Tails blushed a lot, both reacting to the incident.
"I… I…." Sonic placed his gloved finger on the fox's lips…
"It's nothing to fear Tails… It's fine. Really fine…"
"But… It's just so embarrassing, you won't make fun of me will you?" Tails asked, still seemingly embarrassed by the events that had happened.
Sonic looked confused, putting his hand on his fluffy cheek.
"Are you joking? Of course not, and… I find it adorable of you little bro…".
Tails blushed a bit, as he hugged Sonic tightly once again… "Thanks Sonic…" The fox whispered.
"No problem buddy!", the cobalt-blue hedgehog responded to his statement.
