Moonlight shadows filled every corner in the dark suburbs that night, giving the dark streets and ruinous houses of those parts of the city an aura of mystery and, maybe, calmness. These ruins were once peaceful villages, filled with people who were rude at worst, but as the city became more comfortable, some of them left their homes to get a spot in it. In the end, the suburbs became a little bit abandoned, if I don't mention the stubborn who refused to abandon their life style, which were owners of little workshops, ones that sadly received no many customers due to the location. I am happy with what I have in the big city, but my work as a hero leaves me tired of the problem filled streets, which lead me to wonder when I had my last vacation… Hmm, next summer I could go to somewhere near a beach, or just go to an isolated house with a pool in the country side, or maybe just go to…

"Concentrate, Mint. No one wants you to lose focus in a night like this".

Patrolling the streets in search for suspicious activity was something that I left more to my colleagues. My main occupation is to recover information which I gained with me investigating by myself… And some help from my informants. While that doesn't mean I don't check for petty criminals down the streets once in a while, I'm more interested in fighting organized crime, and that requires a little bit more of tact, if you know what I mean, and I have a mission right now related to that preference.

There were these little capsules which gave the user extreme feelings of power. Not very different from another kind of drug, I supposed at first, but one of my informants knew better. The catch here is that, apparently, the drug removes any kind of pain receptors and substitutes them for good feelings, making it the perfect recipe for trouble. The drug has been around for a month and half now, and the police was very busy to investigate, but I took this case very seriously, since what could happen if said small group gets to become into a cartel… And besides, there was the increase of fame that I would get! And the extra money I would get at the end of the month…

"I would show the others how it's done"

That's how I got there in the first place, at the top of a ruined building, waiting for a drug dealer to appear. If my informant, and the witnesses who I talked to were right, this one was responsible for letting the capsules loose. They told me that his main base was in the suburbs, and that he was seen a lot around the street I was watching. I was expecting him to come in a discrete way, but no: he was adorned by gold in every millimetre of his body. I couldn't see him very well through all the adornments, but I could see that not only he, but the others had a patchy doll appearance. He wasn't alone, there were four around him.

"Those fools just can't leave us alone, can't they? Seriously, this disguise is surely killing me" Said the "gold" one ". "I have to wear this and pretend to be a dork".

"I do believe that your "disguise" draws more attention than not" Said one of the four, who had a greyish skin, or leather…

"When people see me, an idiot who goes around being stupid and wearing fake jewellery, the first thing they think is: What an absolute idiot. And they don't bother me because I'm not worth their time. The suits see me and say: What an absolute idiot. And they don't bother me because you know why. I don't like the disguise, but it does its job very well." Said the goldie one with a tone between joy and irritation.

"Keep thinking that, sweetie." I said with a slight grin in my face. He didn't know that he had been spotted several times by quite a lot of people during his deals, leading to my knowing about his activities. I didn't know for sure if that stupid disguise managed to actually fool everyone for all this time, but no disguise can make its user hide from their missteps.

Their auras weren't exactly powerful enough to defeat me. I had nothing to fear, adding that I came prepared for doing a sneak attack. I needed to get a proof that they were the ones supplying the drug. And so, I started to silently following roof through roof.

They reached a hidden warehouse inside a street and, now, I just had to wait for them to leave. Time passed and I thought that they were going to stay all night inside there, until the door where they came in opened. Carrying heavy bags, they were completely about to make some selling. Not this night.

They were quickly surrounded by two of my cards, which exploded, leaving sleeping gas around them. The gang couldn't barely react, quickly falling asleep. After the gas disappeared, I dropped from the small building I was on and opened the bag, finding the capsules.

"And bingo"

The police came sooner than I expected, picking the gangers, and giving the usual questions. Despite heroes being a force of good in the grand scheme of things, some sects of the police were a little suspicious of our activities, and with a reason.

"Are you sure these guys are the ones behind this so called drugs?" The police, who looked like a fire ghost, asked me. Was it female?

"Yes". As I was going to pick on some random people without proof or anything. Stupid.

Some questions later, they left. They will ask them the usual questions and examinate the drug's properties. Now that the rest was up to the police's hands, I left that dreaded place with the satisfaction of a job well done.
