Where do we go from Here?

Rapunzel and Eugene had just had a very eventful 3 days. If Eugene was being truthful he was not expecting to fall for a weird and somewhat naive girl in the middle of the fucking forest but here he is. She's leaning on his right shoulder, a mix of thoughtfulness and confusion on her face. She had just seen her lover die. Well, you know she wasn't sure about her feelings concerning the thief that barged into her tower until he lay bleeding out in her arms. That is when she realized, all too late she thought, she did indeed love him. Eugene had realized he loved her at the dance in the village with her, but he didn't want to admit that then, and now is probably not the time to confess the deep feelings he never knew he could have to Rapunzel after the only person that she had known for her entire life, the only person she could sometimes socialize with, just died, falling out the window with a traumatic last look on her face.

Rapunzel turned to look at the man towards her left. She had realized a few minutes ago, before the entire, almost dying thing, that she was the lost princess. Everything added up, but she wasn't dull to the fact that Eugene, once Flynn Rider, was still looked on as a criminal in Corona. "Hey Eugene," she nudged him lightly, he turned to look at her and stretched his left thigh for a moment, "hmm?" "I have something to tell you" she replied in a sing-song manner. He gave her a facial expression to go on, "just definitely do NOT freak out please." "Okay, okay, I promise I won't," Eugene replied. She might as well rip off the bandaid "I'm the lost princess." The brunette quickly rushed her words and stared at the tanned man to gauge his reaction. Surprisingly, he stayed quiet, he looked as though, maybe he already was suspecting this.

After a minute of silence he spoke up. "Well, that is amazing blondie! I'm happy for you, so happy." He tried to smile but it could not reach his eyes. She knew why. Rapunzel was already playing through many situations in her mind. But before she could get a word out Eugene spoke again, "I think that you should go, go and be with your family." I can't leave you, not after everything we've gone through, you saved me Eugene! I have to bring you with me, and tell the king and queen, that you literally saved me, the lost princess. "I really want to blondie but," he ran his hand across her face, "you know, i'ma criminal" "Were a criminal" she spoke up. She straddled his legs, not really knowing the hidden and not so appropriate meaning it could have. "Please don't leave me. I can't go without you." She had a little pout on her face, nose touching his. Eugene was thinking, way too much. He couldn't go! He wanted to be with her forever, and show her everything she wanted to see, and marry her and- yup. He was overthinking. "We go into Corona together." He hadn't meant for the statement to sound so grim but he was trying to look at the realistic side of things, "Rapunzel, I can't promise they won't try to take me away again." The two kissed, and at this point it was turning from morning to afternoon. "I will not let anything happen to you Eugene, I promise." Now he wasn't so sure she could keep this promise, but hey he needed a little hope, even if it was not certain, so they had made a decision, to stay together, get Rapunzel home, and hopefully not have Eugene killed in the process, or at all for that matter." Pascal had been watching all this from a little perch on the fireplace, and Rapunzel gestured to him to come. They three climbed down through the trap door Gothel had revealed and met max on the ground.

"Hey boy!" Rapunzel eagerly ran to him and gave him a series of cuddles. Maxiumus looked tired out, they all did, and after Rapunzel explained to him that she was the lost princess, he was even more determined to keep her and reluctantly that Eugene guy safe. She got on Max, Eugene got on after her and sat behind with the frog snuggled into one of his vest pockets, and the four started off to the kingdom.
