Chapter 1
I sighed, eyeing the empty bottle again, in hopes to find an excuse not to go. Once again, I was disappointed by the hollow plastic container. I stood up from my comfy bed in my small homey cave, and put on my hoodie, carefully minding the spikes on my hand as I slipped it on. Another run… hooray.
I looked down at the cliff as I walked outside. I yawned, did a few stretches, grinned, and jumped off. I whooped as the wind flew through my fur as I felt the rush of adrenaline going through my body. I landed with a roll and took off running. I jumped over a few fallen trees, took a left at a big rock. After making a few turns at landmarks I remembered from my numerous runs, I found myself on a hill overlooking the city.
I groaned at realization of how much soreness I´ll be in for tomorrow, but I couldn´t go a day without my favorite condiment. I decided to conserve my strength, and walked down the hill to the city, going at an angle so I wouldn´t be seen so easily.
I snuck from corner to corner, trying to get as close as to my destination before anyone could see me. Luck was not on my side, as I dashed to my third corner, I heard voices. Sometimes, these voices would be friendly, like breeders, or people from the Pokémon Fan Club. Unfortunately… it was the bad guys.
¨Hey did you see that?" A male voice called out. I cursed underneath my breath as another voice, female this time rang out.
"Yeah, I did! Maybe it's a Pokémon! Come on Dike, let's go check it out!" I heard footsteps coming towards me. But when they rounded the corner, they saw nothing but an empty alleyway that ended up in a dead end.
"Uh… we weren't imagining things, right?" The girl said. The boy shook his head.
"Nope, but it could've been a Pokémon that knows teleport." The boy suggested. The girl sighed, and shrugged. The two kids turned around and went back on their merry way, as I sighed a breath of relief as I stood on a nearby building top.
That was close. A few more seconds and I would have been in a risky situation. I turned around and jumped off the building, smacking onto the next building's top as I faceplanted onto it. Blushing, I ran off quickly, hopping from one building to the other. Soon, I was across the street from where I could see my delicious ketchup.
The PokeMart. Yes, I know, a lame reason why to get out of the serene and peaceful mountain side I call home. But I needed my favorite thing in the world. And it was only here I can get it. I grinned, as I used my shortcut to get into the section, I needed to… right in front of a human. We both stared at each other before she took a step back and open her mouth.
I barely manage to smack my paw on her mouth as I quickly grabbed as much ketchup as I can with one arm, and, with a second thought, removed my paw so I can grabbed another armful of ketchup as I ran outside the grocery store with the confused girl wondering how I suddenly appeared, and the cashier yelling "Stop the damn thief!" as I got the heck out of there.
I rounded a corner, almost smacking into another Pokemon, and jumped into a nearby alleyway. Unfortunately, misfortune was on my side as the alleyway I had thrown myself into had a mugging going on, as a trainer with a Pyroar was bullying a girl hugging a Fennekin. I sighed. Looks like I'll have to be here for just a little more.
They didn't seem to notice me yet, with the trainer yelling at the poor girl to give him her money as the Pyroar began growling at them. I set my ketchup down somewhere safe and took a single step towards them. And as I did, rows of bones broke through the ground, rushing towards the trainer and his Pokemon. The trainer got lucky, and only tripped over a lone bone.
But the Pyroar didn't notice the bones until a large one smacked him in the belly. I winced as the poor Pokemon got sent flying towards the other side, slamming into a dumpster. The trainer got onto his feet quickly as he pulled out another Pokeball.
"Who the hell are you?!" He yelled at me as I walked towards him. He stumbled back In fear when my right eye went completely black, and my left eye started glowing a blue and yellow haze, with actual smoke coming out. I raised my hand, and he yelped in surprise as he glowed blue.
"What the- AHHHHH!" I threw my hand up, and the guy went soaring upwards. The girl and her Fennekin and I stared at the dot that was rapidly disappearing, before it completely disappeared. The girl looked back down, wanting to thank me, but I was already gone.
I yawned as I walked towards my cave. The brief fight wasn't tiring, but it did take a bit out of me. But it was worth it. I smiled at my various ketchup bottles as I went into my cave, and placed the mass amounts of ketchup I had gathered. I turned around, and almost slipped on an empty ketchup bottle. I facepalmed and cursed loudly. I forgot to take out the trash!
I sighed a long time, debating if I should go or not. Before giving up and activating my telekinesis. Grabbing a bag by my bed, and shoving every ketchup bottle in sight into it. I ran out again, this time with a large bag full of empty bottles of ketchup as I headed towards the city, this time drinking out of a full ketchup bottle.
After almost falling and ripping the bag into shreds, I finally managed to get to a dumpster. I looked around, making sure no one was around, as I threw it in. Hearing a thump, I walked away satisfied. Fully intent in just getting home while seeing the stars, I didn't teleport home.
Oh, how I wish I did. As soon as I walked into the forest, a shadowy figure jumped out at me from nowhere, with a glint of metal. I backflipped, barely missing the knife as it slashed at my chest. I landed on a tree branch, and barely dodged a fireball as it blasted towards me as I dove towards the ground.
I rolled on the ground and barely manage to get a bone between me and the knife as a Braixen lunged towards me. I snapped my fingers, summoning a Gaster Blaster behind her. Hearing the Gaster Blaster charge up, however, the Braixen jumped up and spun in the air as she dodged the beam. However, I was already above, activating my eye.
BAM!
Dust clouded the area as I landed on the ground softly. I scoffed as I turned around, then froze and looked back as I got a bad feeling. I barely dodged a small fireball and quickly dodged several more until I tripped over a stray rock.
The Braixen didn't even hesitate as she rushed me. Only to realize I was already gone as soon as she ran out to swipe downards. She heard a strange noise, and looked behind her.
I puffed as I summoned at least a few hundred Gaster Blasters. I grinned at her as she sweatdropped at the sight.
"heh heh… huff… Well kid, it was knife to meet you, but it looks like playtime is over." I said with a grin that didn't match the look in my glowing eye as I slammed my hand forward. Then the most surprising thing happened.
She giggled manically. Then she coated the knife with fire. At first, it looked like the knife became a magical dagger of fire. Then it grew, and grew. Before the lasers had reached her, it already was at least ten feet tall. She blocked the laser beams, but seeing her getting pushed back, I didn't stop for a moment as I teleported behind her.
She looked behind, her eyes growing in surprise as I unleashed a roundhouse kick on her. She flew into the forest, and with a large crack resounding in the forest, as she landed on her back onto a tree that had now a large crack down it's middle.
I walked over to her as she was struggling to get back up. I towered over her with my usual grin on my face. She seemed to pale under her fur as I pulled out a bone. She couldn't do anything except raising her knife, now not on fire, as a feeble attempt to defend herself. I smashed through the weak defense as I bonked her on the head.
She hissed as she dropped the knife and started rubbing her head. I chuckled. Sure, the Braixen might have been trying to murder me. But I didn't want to kill someone that couldn't land a scratch on me. I sat in front of her, pulling out the two extra ketchup bottles that luckily weren't scratched in the fight. I tossed one to her, who winced as it lightly smacked her between the eyes.
I struggled to keep a straight face as I popped open the cap of my ketchup bottle and started chugging it down. The fight was tiring, and I figured now might be a good chance to rest. She stared at me as I was guzzling it down. She opened and closed her mouth, as if she was going to ask me something, then shrugged, too tired to care as she popped open her own, and started to drink it.
I finished mine first and started to walk off. As I did however, the Braixen called out.
"Hey wait!" She said as she tried to stand up.
"what?" I stopped as I turned towards her, wary of another attack.
"Why the heck did you help me? I tried to kill you for Arceus' sake!" She spoke as she waved the knife. Then she stopped and looked at me with confusion as I began chuckling. Then out-right laughed.
"HA HA HA! Ah… Shouldn't you know the reason yourself? You probably would have done the same in my case." I said as she looked at me in surprise.
"It's because I never fought as someone as strong as you before, I mean that knife thing? It was cool! Or in your case, it was firey!"
She made a face at the pun as I started walking away, wondering what I should do today as I carefully put my paws in my pockets, minding the giant spikes.
