Welcome to my first fanfiction. Comments are appreciated. This will be many chapters as I feel motivated. I do not own any part of Austin and Ally

Ally POV
I finished unpacking my last box and looked around, my side of the room was perfect. My small desk was set up neatly, my bed was made and my mini fridge was plugged in getting ready to be filled with snacks. My small closet and dresser housed my neatly organized clothes. I had my electric keyboard under my bed with the stand so I could pull it out whenever I wanted to play something and my guitar was sitting in the corner next to my desk. On the wall were pictures of me with my friends from home and various posters of musicians I admired. I was lost in the pictures and memories when I was suddenly lightly poked
"Ally? Are you listening to me?" My roommate Trish said
"Oh yeah, uh sorry I was just getting lost in some memories" I glanced over at her side of the room. Her stuff was thrown about and her luggage wasn't even done being unpacked. This was going to be a tough year..
"Anyway I said they're doing some welcome weekend stuff down on the Quad, you wanna come with?"
"Yeah sure, I guess I could be down for that"
"Okay awesome, just give me a second to get ready and we can go!" Trish responded quickly and started flitting around the room throwing clothes around. She settled on a pair of black leggings, a plain blue blouse and an open leopard print button down. I noticed a lot of animal prints in her suitcase and knew this would be a common outfit combo.
"You look great, Trish! Let's go!"
"Hell Yeah Chica" Trish strutted out of the room and I followed behind, locking our door as we left.
Trish and I had met at orientation and decided to sign up to be roommates. We got along pretty well and I could tell we were going to be fast friends. She was just a little more outgoing than I was which made me nervous as I really didn't want any attention drawn to myself. As we walked to the quad Trish talked about her high school life, what she wanted to major in and if there were going to be any cute boys here. I followed along and chimed in where I could, I was a pretty big nerd in high school, I want to major in Music and I don't really care about boys. When I said that last one Trish stopped walking and looked at me.
"You don't care about boys... do you mean?"
"No no it's nothing like that, well maybe.. I don't know.. but anyway I just want to focus on my studying while I'm here and boys would just get in the way"
"Alllllyyy '' Trish whined "You can't only study while you're in College.. That'd be soo boring. Please promise me you'll at least go to parties with me on the weekend... I can't go by myself that'd be so lame... pleaaaassssseeee" Trish looked at me and pouted.
"Fine, Okay? Fine. I'll go to parties but I'm not looking for a boyfriend"
"Yipee!" Trish cried as she grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the quad.
Thankfully the campus was fairly small so after about a five minute walk we were there. There were so many people walking around what looked like a music festival or fair. There were food trucks and tents, games and even, to my surprise, a small ferris wheel. Finally at the edge of the quad was a big empty stage with lights and speakers. Trish and I looked at each other with giant smiles and squealed.
"This is going to be so awesome!"
"What should we do first?"
"I don't know, I'm kinda hungry?"
"Food Stall it is!" I took Trish's hand and dragged her towards one of the Food Trucks. I saw they had fried pickles and I was pumped to get my hands on them. Trish came willingly and we got in line, looking around at all our classmates.
Austin POV
Austin... Austin... AUSTINNNNNN
I wake up to someone whispering my name like a snake into my ear. I quickly sit up and shudder as I see my best friend staring back at me.
"Dez? What are you doing in my house" I say hoarsely
"Your house? Bud, this is our house well, room. Mi casa es su casa!"
"Huh?"
"Don't you remember moving? Unpacking all the boxes? Falling asleep after eating McDonalds?" I think to myself and remember all that happening, but I thought it was a dream.
"Oh yeah.. I forgot"
"Wow we finally live together and you've already forgotten, I thought you loved me" Dez says looking at me with sad eyes that were sparkling with mischief. He had taken out his phone and pressed play on a dramatic song used in soap operas. I get into character to prepare for my line and look at him.
"Of course I love you, I'd never forget. Now we can be together forever" He starts laughing and I join him. I was so happy I got to have my best friend as a roommate. This year was going to be awesome.
"Anyway Austin we gotta go! They're having some fun stuff for welcome weekend on the quad and I don't wanna miss it! I saw on twitter they have a ton of food trucks and I wanna try them all!"
"Okay sounds cool! Just let me get ready." I quickly switched to some shorts and a t-shirt and checked in the mirror to make sure my hair looked okay. After adding a bit of gel I was ready to go. The two of us walked out the door and I locked it behind us. Dez was plotting out his move through the food trucks and I was looking to see if there were any cute girls. The quad was close to the dorms thankfully so we got there and looked around. It was crazy, there was so much stuff to do and I immediately felt excited. Dez immediately took off on his food quest and I followed behind because I also couldn't wait to eat a bunch.
After about an hour my stomach was killing me. We had eaten so much and I begged Dez to sit down. That man has a stomach of steel or something. We headed over to some chairs by the stage and took a seat so that our stomachs could chill. As we sat the lights on the stage turned on and a tall bald man with glasses walked out. He stood out from the crowd as he was 1. Much older than all of us and 2. wearing a suit. He walked to the center of the stage and grabbed one of the mics that was resting there. He tapped on it and a slight squeal came from the speakers. He picked it up and coughed slightly.
"Hello and Welcome Freshman Class of 2018 I am Jimmy Star, your President! We are so excited to welcome you all to our school! We hope your dreams in education come true and you have a kick ass night! Go Manatees!" Everyone cheered as he steadied his hands to calm us down. "Now tonight we have some amazing fun things planned! First we'll have a quick stand up performance by the amazing and talented Nick Miller! After that we will have a game of Trivia and we'll finish off the night with some Karaoke!"
Everyone cheered again excited at the idea of singing in front of a bunch of people. I felt my entire body buzzing with excitement. I wanted to perform so badly and this was my first chance. I was aiming to be a music major with a focus in performance and I knew this would be my performance that made a statement and let the school who I was. Dez looked at me with a big grin and said
"Good thing I brought my camera"
