The echoes of the remaining tributes voices can be heard all throughout the cold, darkness of the labyrinth. A cold shiver could be felt all throughout everyones spine. The sound of footsteps can be heard getting louder and louder. Something is approaching or maybe it is multiple things.
A girl slips out an object from her bag and hands it to a boy.
"What's that?" he coughs
His face filled with confusion at the sight of the object.
"It's to remind you of something that we have forgotten" she answers
He takes a long tired gulp.
"Who gave it to you?" he asks confused
"Well…you did" she answers

Macro 25 (Assistant Gamemaker)
I am woken up by what sounds like a low pitched, screeching violin. It is a sound that is in describable and that I have never heard before. As I become more aware, I check the clock to my right and see the time saying 3:00 am. I groan, rubbing my eyes in annoyance and confusion. I guess it has to be my job to check out the noise…
It sounded like it came from directly below me, from Tiberius's room, he's the Head Gamemaker and not someone you want to disturb trust me. The old man always has a very calm but intimidating aurora. As long as you do everything he asks and to an acceptable level you will be fine. However, since he could be in danger I should probably investigate the noise otherwise I might end up getting blamed for it.
I force myself out of bed and open the door a crack. Outside in the corridor I am met with darkness, I creep outside into the corridor past the elevator. I never liked elevators, too claustrophobic especially in the middle of the night. It never ends well in horror movies. I head towards the stairs instead, slowly making my way down to the floor below. Once I reach the floor I tip toe down the corridor towards the head gamemakers room.
I am now stood outside his door. With a gulp I nervously raise my hand to knock on the door, gently I bang my fist onto the door. I am equally scared of the possibility that the noise was something and that it was nothing and in my imagination, as I know Tiberius is not pleasant in a bad mood.
The is no response to the knock so I consider knocking on the door again but then I think I can hear a faint muttering in the room. I press my ear against the door and hear the sound of Tiberius's voice but then as I listen closer to listen to who he's talking to, all I can hear is him replying to himself.
I can faintly make out some of what they are saying…
"If what you tell me if true then we can't let it leave this room" one voice says
"Come on, we both know you're an architect, you will use this new revelation in your games" another voice replies
"Well you would know, wouldn't you?" the first voice says
"You have always liked messing with the tributes heads, that is what has made you such a successful head gamemaker"
I knock on the door, louder this time
"Sir?"
There is a pause
"Enter" he orders
I slowly push the door open, Tiberius is sitting at his desk looking as calm as he always does , glaring at me.
"Didn't I tell you about disturbing me?" He hisses
"Sorry sir but I heard a noise, I was just checking to make sure nothing had happened"
"Something is always happening…now leave" he orders
I give him a quick reassuring smile and hastily leave the room, closing the door behind me. I knew I should have just stayed in bed, no comfort ever comes from talking to that man.
Tiberius 67 (Head Gamemaker)
I watch the snivelling rat leave my room, he's always poking his nose around where he shouldn't be but today he may have gone too far, I might have to cross him off.
"I know what you're thinking" I hear my own voice say
The other me emerges from behind the curtains. He has my white beard, my eyes and my (lack of) hair. That's because he is me, well me from the future. My scientist's experiments worked!
"Macro has seen too much" He continues
"Leave that to me" I say
"What I'm trying to figure out is what to do with you" I continue
His…well my face remains unchanged, there is no fear in his eyes and I must know that I can't let me live but then…he's already lived this moment before.
"Come on. We both know you don't have long on this Earth anyway. Nothing can cure what is wrong with your heart" he says
That's not some kind of metaphor. I have some kind of inherited heart disease. The doctors haven't given me long to live.
"Then since you've already had this conversation…you know how this ends" I say
He nods with a smirk on his face
I take the silenced hand gun out of my draw and point it at his chest. He closes his eyes and excepts his fate before I fire a shot into his heart. I watch as my own body falls to the floor in front of me, dead. My own blood stained on the carpet.
So that is how I meet my end…killed by past self. How I die doesn't really make any difference to me though but at least I know I will live long enough to watch 24 more innocent people suffer for the capitols amusement.
I trapped myself in a time paradox, predetermined, unable to be changed. At least that is what I believe anyway. Time is fixed.
Hey Guys! Thanks for reading! I can't believe I'm back with another SYOT! I know I said The Nightmare Dimension would be my last one but oh well. I'm going to try to be more detailed with this one and hopefully I will end up with a much higher word count than normal however it just means the updates will be slower because I'm taking my time with it.
So I'm pretty bad with intro chapters but do you want to see more intros or should I just go straight to the Reapings?
If you're new to my stories, then that's good! This story won't be related at all to my past SYOTs. Also I do deviate heavily from the source material and this story will involve time travel so yeah if you're not into that then this is not the story for you.
The submission form will be on my profile as usual and I am allowing a 5-day reservation limit! So get submitting!
