The Wrong Arrest.
Derek Morgan stood at the edge of the crime scene, watching the crowd. The BAU had profiled that the unsub would come back to look at the crime scene, and he was on guard duty. His eyes came to rest on the opening of a dark alley, and he paused. At every single one of the 20 crime scene, he had seen the same person. It was a dark haired boy, who was occasionally joined by someone else. Derek walked up to Aaron Hotchner, and informed him that the boy was back again.
"Bring him in, I want to talk to him," The BAU chief replied, turning back to David Rossi.
Derek walked towards the alley, slowly taking out his gun. The boy seemed to sense he was there, and turned.
"Put your hands in the air," Derek said, pointing his gun at the you man.
He slowly obeyed, and Morgan arrested him. He pulled him roughly out of the alley and shoved him in a car. The BAU pulled out of the station and went back to the BAU building.
Aaron Hotchner walked down the corridor, making his way towards the office of Penelope Garcia. He knocked on the door, and then walked in.
"Garcia, can you get a match on this boy?" He asked showing her a picture of the dark haired youth that was sitting in the BAU interrogation rooms.
"Sure thing, boss man," Penelope answered, grinning.
After about 10 minutes, she walked up to him.
"So, I expanded the search world wide and I found him. His name is Lord Harrison Potter, he is from Britain. His parents were murdered when he was a baby, but he survived somehow. It says here he was the one who took down that terrorist in England two years ago...wow, he was only 17...and that terrorist was the person who killed his parents. He is part of a special undercover group of MI-6, but there is nothing about him being in America. There is no record to show he even got here," Penelope said.
Aaron frowned, and sat down. The rest of the team were there, and they started talking quietly.
"Right, everyone, I am going to interview him. Rossi, your coming with me," Aaron said.
Harry Potter stared at his hands, wondering what was going to happen. He jumped when the door swung open, and a stern faced man sat down. Another man followed, sitting next to his companion and staring at Harry. He swallowed.
"My name is Aaron Hotchner, and this is David Rossi," The first man said, glaring at Harry.
Harry gulped. He had done nothing wrong, but he knew it was rather suspicious of him to be hanging around at the crime scenes. the reason he was there was because it was a magical murderer, an ex death eater, and his Auror team had been called in. He couldn't tell the muggles that though, so he stayed silent. He hoped someone had contacted his team so that they knew where he was.
"Excuse me, have you contacted my team. They will worry if they don't know where I am," Harry asked quietly.
"Yes, we called them-"
The other man, Rossi, was cut off by someone running frantically into the interview room.
"Sir, there are some people here to see you. One of them is rather angry. You might want to-"
The newcomer was cut off when someone else pushed past them and into the room. Harry sighed with relief.
"Hey Draco," He said.
Draco smiled at him and then turned back to the two men. He opened his mouth to say something, but Hotchner took him by the arm firmly and steered him out of the room. Rossi stayed behind, looking mildly surprised.
"Who was that?" He asked.
"My fiancée," Harry replied, grinning at the confused American.
Meanwhile, Ginny Weasley was pacing up and down in the BAU conference room. She was angry, but Luna had told her not to shout at the people. She glared at one of them, who glared right back at her.
"Stop pacing," The women snapped.
"Unless you tell me why the head of our team is in YOUR interrogation room, then I will NOT stop," Ginny was furious.
She felt a calming hand on her arm and relaxed a bit. She was still glaring daggers at the dark haired women, and she wanted to punch her.
"How would you like it if someone arrested the head of your team when they are completely innocent?" Ronald Weasley snarled angrily.
"Well, our unit chief wouldn't hang around at all 20 murder scenes, but who am I to judge?" The women said sharply.
"We were investigating, actually. You guys don't understand the reason of the deaths and how they died, but we do. This is the work of what is left of the Terrorist group that was in England, which we all helped defeat. So back off," Blaise added, glaring at the woman.
"Blaise, we are not meant to say that," Pansy hissed, jabbing him, " It was top secret."
"What did Blaise say?" Came a tired voice from behind them," I swear Blaise, if you told top secret information again I will make you go on a shopping trip with Pansy."
It was Hermione, and Ginny grinned. She hugged her friend.
"Right, Miss...What is your name?" Hermione asked the dark haired women, who was looking curiously at the scene.
"Prentiss, Emily Prentiss," The women replied.
Right, Miss Prentiss, can you get the rest of your team to come in here. We have a matter of great importance to discuss. Also, I would like to formally apologize for wasting your time and for Draco Malfoy, who I am sure is being an overprotective idiot and shouting at your Unit Chief. He doesn't like it when people arrest his fiancée," Hermione stated.
Emily Prentiss nodded and walked out of the room. As soon as the door closed, Ginny sent a questioning look in Hermione's direction.
"We are going to have to tell them about magic. Thank goodness you are all here to help me," Hermione said, smiling at everyone.
"Do you have permission?" Ron asked incredulously.
"I am the Minister for Magic, I gave myself permission," Hermione replied.
Just then the door opened, and a sparkly woman came in. She grinned at them.
"Hi, my name is Penelope Garcia. I am so excited to meet you. I can't believe I am actually meeting Lord's and Ladies. You guys met the QUEEN. It is so exciting," the women squealed, grinning widely.
More people filed in, saving them from answering. At last, Draco came in, glaring at a serious man. He walked over to them, and folded his arms. Ginny leant against the wall and concentrated on Luna's hand in hers to distract her from the anger. Everyone was glaring at the FBI agents, other than Luna. Luna didn't glare, but she had a serious face on, which was almost as bad as her glaring. Hermione stood up.
"Well, we have something to tell you. This might come as a bit of a shock. My name is Hermione Granger, and I am the Minister of Magic. I run the British Ministry of Magic, and this is my best team of Aurors. An Auror is like your police, but magic," Hermione said.
Ginny grinned at the startled faces of the BAU.
"So your saying that Witches and Wizards exist?" A blonde women said.
"Yes-" Hermione was cut off by the man who had arrested Harry.
"I don't believe you. Your just trying to distract us from the fact that you friend is clearly a murderer," The man said, staring at them.
"I can assure you, it is quite real," Luna said calmly, waving her wand.
A silvery rabbit burst out the top and ran across the room. Ginny waved her wand as well, thinking about Luna, and a horse reared out of the end of hers, joining Luna's bunny rabbit. One by one, everyone else raised their wands too and cast a non verbal Patronus charm. Quite soon after that, the BAU conceded that magic was indeed real and released Harry, after looking at his memories in a pensive that Hermione had produced from her bag. The BAU and the Magical Auror Team went there separate ways.
The Collaboration.
Luna sighed, leaning on the headboard of the hotel bed. Everyone was gathered in their magically enlarged shared room, which had several evidence boards floating around. She looked at the official ministry folder sitting on her lap, then turned to her girlfriend. Ginny grinned at her, then went back to looking at one of the boards, frowning and occasionally writing things down, Pansy looking over her shoulder and occasionally inputting ideas. Blaise and Ron were discussing things quietly in the corner and Draco was reading a statement by himself because Harry had once again to look at the newest crime scene. There had now been a total of 27 murders and they were stumped. They new it was death eaters, because they left the dark Mark burnt onto the skin of all their victims, but they weren't sure who the death eaters were. Many had escaped imprisonment after the war. Luna was knocked out of her thoughts by the door opening. Harry was there, and behind him was Hermione. Pansy jumped up and ran towards her girlfriend, kissing her quickly.
"Right, we have guests," Harry announced.
He left the doorway and walked towards Draco, snuggling with him on a bed. Standing in the doorway was the entirety of the BAU team. Hermione led them inside, and they stopped in awe, watching the floating boards and the floating teacup which occasionally filled their empty cups with drinks of their choice. There was a small blue fire floating in the middle of the room, illuminating the reference books with moving pictures and the chocolate frog cards that had been left in a pile. Everyone had set up their parts of the room differently. Their were moving photos, magical plants, magic sweets and wands left around. There were several floating lamps, and Ron was levitating a little as he had just consumed a Fizzing Whizbee. Luna got up and walked towards them.
"I don't believe we have met before," The slight Irish lilt in her voice was calm, "my name is Luna, Luna Lovegood. The beautiful redhead is my girlfriend Ginny, the other red head is her brother, Ron. Ron is with Blaise, his fiancée and that is Pansy, Hermione's wife. You've met Hermione, Harry and Draco."
The muggles nodded, still looking a bit bewildered.
"We decided to collaborate with you to find the killer faster," Aaron Hotchner said.
The BAU team split up to look at the various floating evidence boards. The room settled into silence. Ronald had offered Emily Prentiss a fizzing Whizbee and she was now floating with the evidence board. She looked rather excited. Spencer Reid was next to her, staring with fascination at the magical things. Derek Morgan kept poking the blue fire, which gave off heat but never actually burnt him. He looked confused. The rest of the BAU were scattered around the room talking with various people and writing things down. The two teams worked well together, and they got alot done that afternoon. The Wizards enlarged the room even more, so the BAU could stay with them. They had even brought their Technical Analyst, who had computers and screens set up all around her.
They had decided to call it a night and resume work in the morning. They had just made breakfast and had some drinks, when Emily had an idea.
"What if the murderer is just an American posing as a Death Eater?" she exclaimed.
Everyone looked up. Luna perked up from beside Ginny, who looked lovingly at her girlfriend before turning back to Emily. She thought that was a great theory, but there was only one problem.
"Only death eaters know how to conjure the Dark Mark," She said sadly.
Ginny hated to ruin other people's ideas, but Emily Prentiss didn't look concerned.
"Yes, but what if this person had a British friend who was a death eater or they joined the death eaters briefly? Think about it, it all makes sense. That is why the murderer doesn't have the same MO as the British death eaters. They probably didn't participate in the battle because they only joined briefly, but they would have seen others being marked with the dark mark and therefore copy the spell," She continued.
Everyone sat in shock for a minute. There was a sudden flurry of movement to write the information down and they began to work out who this person was. The room was buzzing for the rest of the morning. Harry was sitting on a sofa with Draco and Aaron Hotchner, discussing details and going over the facts of the case again, this time fitting in their new theory. Derek Morgan was sitting with Blaize and Ron, staring at an evidence board and occasionally discussing things. David Rossi was with Spencer Reid and Pansy, discussing things about the Geographical profile. Ginny sat with Luna, Hermione, Emily and JJ. They were all sitting around an evidence board, eating sweets and discussing things, occasionally writing stuff down. Penelope Garcia was next to them, surrounded by computers and frantically typing. After an hour, Penelope gave a shout.
"It's two people. Dahlia and Aciano Clegg," Penelope said triumphantly.
"Oh, I know the Cleggs. They are one of the American pureblood families. Super big on blood purity. They disowned several of their children for simply looking at a muggle. One of their daughters married a half blood last year. It was quite a scandal," Ginny replied, grinning.
"Garcia, can you give us the address?" Aaron asked.
She did and they all ran out of the hotel. Luna and Garcia stayed behind, to give them the exact coordinates.
The Death Eater Lair.
As soon as they got outside the magical hotel the were staying in, called The Mooncalf Arms, they decided to do side along apparition instead of taking the BAU vehicles. it was much quicker. Each magical person took a member of the BAU in side along apparition. Ginny took JJ's arm, and spun on her heel. They appeared outside a dark, lonely mansion. The wind was howling, blowing up dead leaves and their was a sudden chill in the air. The mansion was surrounded by a huge forest, making the howling of the wind even louder. One by one, the rest of the team started appearing, looking around and shivering. Ginny walked forwards, knocking on the large Hippogriff shaped knocker attached to the imposing front doors. They were heaved open, and in the doorway stood a tall, broad shouldered man. He glared at her in distaste. Behind him stood a cruel looking blonde women, with sharp cheekbones and cruel silver eyes. Her hand was clenched painfully on the shoulder of a small girl. The girl had dark, curly hair, and a fine boned face. One of her eyes was a beautiful purple, and the other was a deep gold. She had painful looking, claw shaped scars running up one side of her face and showing on her collarbone. Her curly hair was tied with a ribbon and she was wearing a set of black robes, but she looked absolutely miserable.
"Are you Mr and Mrs Clegg," Harry asked politely.
Ginny tore her gaze away from the small girl to look at the adults. The man was broad shouldered, with straight black hair tied at the nape of his neck. His cruel grey eyes stared at Harry, looking at him as though he were a cockroach he wanted to stomp under his boot. The women's hand had tightened even more on the girls shoulder, and she was glaring at them as if she was about to attack. Ginny reached for her wand, unnerved by the evil looking couple.
"What's it to you," The man, Aciano, asked.
"We are from the British Ministry of Magic. We have some questions for you," Blaise answered, fixing his blue eyes on Aciano.
"We will not be answering them," The women, Dahlia, replied stiffly, her lips curling in distaste.
"I am afraid you have no choice," Ginny spoke through gritted teeth.
Dahlia pulled out her wand, and everyone else reacted instantly. Immediately, their guns or wands were pointing at the couple framed in the doorway. Aciano was also pointing his wand, but not at them. He had pulled the girl roughly to him and was now pressing his wand against her throat. The girl was crying silently, her scared face contorted with fear. Ginny boiled with anger. She cast a quick and silent stupefy and Aciano fell to the ground, letting go of the girl. His wife looked at his crumpled form with loathing and then dragged the girl, using her body as a shield. Ginny couldn't get a clear shot. There was a bang, and the Dahlia fell to the ground with a shout of agony. David Rossi had managed to get a clear shot. He had put a bullet through her leg. Harry put magical manacles on the couples wrists and apperated away with Draco in tow. Ginny stepped forward cautiously, watching the young girl. The last thing she wanted to do was scare her. There was another pop of apparition and Luna appeared with Penelope. Luna ran up to Ginny kissing her. She then turned to the girl, taking in her features. She whispered to Ginny that the girl's name was "Aislinn" and she was 7.
Aislinn was scared. One minutes, her father had been crucioing her because she had talked over him by accident, and the next the doorbell had rung and these random people had appeared and taken her parents. She knew her parents were bad people, she had known that the moment they had willingly let the werewolf Fenrir Greyback bit her to prove their loyalty to Voldemort. Before that, her eyes had been the same colour as her mothers, but something had happened and now they were different colours. She had been punished for that as well, and marking her "Noble Face," as her parents called it. She stared at the fiery ginger women and the blonde one, who were slowly walking closer. Their faces reflected an emotion she had never seen on her parents, but she had seen on her older brother before he had mysteriously disappeared after marrying a muggle. She had heard her parents talking about using the "Avada Kedavra" on him, but she wasn't sure what that was. She knew her parents were bad people, but she didn't know quite how awful they were.
"My name is Ginny, this is my girlfriend Luna, we want to help you alright. We won't hurt you," The redhead coaxed gently.
Aislinn wasn't sure whether or not to believe her. That was what Mr. Greyback had said, but then he turned into the big grey wolf and bit her! That had hurt her, alot. And every full moon she would turn into a wolf too. She had scratched down her face, which had been so painful. And then her parents had blamed her for it, and punished her with a crucio. They had locked her in the dark basement with no food until the Perry's had come. She edged away from the stranger, but tripped over a step. She landed spread eagled on the floor, and gasped in pain. Not only did her entire body felt bruised thanks to the curse, but last week had been a full moon and her mother refused to heal and cuts she made. She sat up and stared in fear at the women, expecting her to pounce on her and hurt her like her mother did when she fell, but the women, reached her hand forward as an offer to pull her up. Very slowly, Aislinn accepted the hand, and the redhead pulled her up. Aislinn flinched backwards, expecting a slap, but none came. She opened her eyes slowly. The women was staring at her in horror, and a slight tinge of curiosity. The blonde women, Luna, stepped forward and smiled soothingly at the young girl.
"Don't worry, we won't hurt you. Your parents can't hurt you now either. Would you like to come back with the rest of our team until we can get you a place to stay?" Luna had a calming Irish lilt in her voice, and her silvery eyes, completely different to Aislinn's mothers hard, cold one, gleamed with warmth and kindness. Aislinn noticed that she had slight laughter lines around her eyes, as did the ginger one, Ginny. She decided they probably wouldn't hurt her, and nodded timidly.
"Do you know what apparating is?" Ginny asked soothingly.
"Yes," replied the young werewolf, watching the two women.
They nodded at her, and the blond one gestured for Aislinn to take her arm. She did, and with a crack, the dark, eerie mansion was deserted. The leaves continued to blow around, and the vacant windows watched the spot were the two women and the young girl had vanished.
The Strange Girl.
Aislinn stumbled, feeling rather dizzy. She looked around timidly but she doesn't see anything special. She is standing in an alley with the two British women. She wonders if they were going to turn out like all the other people she thought were good. Maybe they'll decide to kill her. She started shaking almost imperceptibly, but Luna seemed to notice. She smiled at the seven year old and then turns back to the athletic ginger girl, who lifted her wand and then taps a dustbin. Aislinn was confused, and then the bin moved to the side and some of the bricks moved as well. A black hole in the wall was revealed and the two women stepped through, disappearing. Luna appeared again, and gently steered the young girl through. She was blinded for a second and then the darkness disappeared. She was standing in a giant lobby, filled to the brim with magical people and objects. She followed the two women through the people, and up to the magical lifts. Ginny taps her wand against the side and they zoomed downwards. A couple of minutes later, the lift doors opened and Aislinn was confronted by a giant hallway, with doors on either side. The small group walked for a while, until they got to a door with a plaque saying 'Flat No.5622'. Luna tapped her wand on the door and it swung open to reveal a huge room with a small kitchen area. There was a fireplace with some sofas and chairs and in one corner of the room was a giant library. In another corner of the room were two doors, one of which was open showing what seemed to be a giant library. Aislinn looked at the magical windows and the winding staircase in the corner of the small kitchen. There were several people in the room as well, all of which she had seen when there had been the raid. Some of them she realised were muggles, and one of the muggles was arguing with a short, dark haired man.
"Look, Mr Potter, I understand that you wanted to collaborate on this case, but you have no right to teleport us back to England. We should be in America, finishing the paperwork and then going home!" The muggle said, glaring at the Potter man.
"Hotchner, I understand but first we need to talk the case over and there are some official procedures you need to go through here now that you know about magic. Also, it is called Apparition not teleportation!" Mr Potter said, walking away from the muggle, Hotchner.
"Alright, Mr Potter, I understand that but I have a son at home who needs me! I can't just leave him with his aunt the entire time!" Hotchner replied, rubbing his face.
"Oh, that is easily fixable. Ron, Blaize, take Hotchner back to his house. Hotchner, you can bring your child. Pack some stuff, you will have to be here for a while, as will the rest of the BAU. I appreciate you all have work but just think of it as an impromptu holiday!" The green eyed man replied.
Aislinn watched the scene with fascination, then turned to Luna and Ginny. She wanted to know her fate, and who everyone was. She asked them and they pointed to many people, giving names. Luna told her to make herself at home, so she walked into the library room and picked out a book. This was what she normally did at home, hiding in the library to get away from her parents. Clegg Manor had very tall bookshelves, which disappeared into darkness at the top. She would normally climb up a ladder and then curl up on one of the emptier shelves at the top and sleep, or daydream. Her parents would never find her, but she always went to them when they called. If she didn't, they would just use a spell to find her and then punish her. Most of the time they just ignored her if the didn't see her, which she was grateful for! This library was not so large, so she travelled right to the back and then settled down on a comfy looking window seat. The magic window showed her a beautiful sunset over a castle on a hill. The castle was vaguely familiar, and Aislinn was sure she had seen it before. Then she remembered she had seen it in the book of Worldwide Wizarding Schools. IT was the British school, but she couldn't remember the name. It wasn't Pigspots, no, it was something like Hogroast or Pigfarts. Oh, yes, it was Hogwarts. The window seat was comfy, there was a lot of cushions and blankets and a small table next to it, on which there stood an empty cup and some parchment. Next to the parchment was a beautiful quill and some turquoise ink. Aislinn sighed in contentment, and began reading the book she had picked off the shelf. She realized quickly that it was a muggle book, which fascinated her because she had never read one before. She hadn't looked at the title, but she check it now. It was called "The Phoenix Code" and it was very interesting.
Hermione walked into the library, intending to pick up her cup and her writing equipment which she had left on a table. She hummed a Queen song as she walked, admiring the books. When she got to one of the bookshelves, she realized one of the books was missing. Curious as to who had taken it, she walked around the library. At last she came upon her quiet corner, where she always sat to read her books. It was cosy and comfortable and the window was a view of Hogwarts. She stopped when she saw the young girl, Aislinn Clegg, who they had rescued form Clegg Manor. She approached cautiously, and the young girl looked up with scared eyes. She smiled at her, and then picked up her stuff.
"It is rather late, would you like to go to bed now?" She asked quietly, so as not to scare the young werewolf.
She had realised the girl was a werewolf immediately, as had the others. Hermione felt sorry for her because, although she had never experienced it herself, Remus Lupin had told her about it after the battle. She couldn't wait to see him and his fiancé Sirius again. She smiled at the young girl who looked at her shyly before replying.
"Where am I to sleep?"
"We have got you a room with a bed, but tomorrow tell us how you want it to be furnished and we will make it look however you want!" The young women replied.
Just as Hermione was about to get up, there was the happy shout of a child and a ball of redheaded energy leaped at her.
"Aunty Mione, mummy said there is a new person. Can I meet her, I want to be her friend!" The child gushed eagerly.
"Roisin, calm down slightly. This is Aislinn Clegg. She will probably stay with us for a while. Now go and get your mothers, I am going to show Aislinn her room. You can annoy her in the morning, when she has had some sleep!" Hermione said, grinning at Ginny and Luna's daughter. Roisin was a happy child, who was also seven. Hermione hoped that Roisin and Aislinn would get on alright. Hermione looked around for Lily, Roisin's partner in crime. Where one was, the other usually wasn't far behind. Roisin ran off, giggling with Lily. Hermione turned back to Aislinn, who was taking in the other two girls with curiosity.
"Who are they?" She asked, politely.
"That's Lily Minerva Potter and Roisin Aoife Weasley-Lovegood, they are both the same age as you. I hope you all get along but for now, it is time for bed. You can meet everyone else in the morning.
Aislinn was rather bewildered, but followed the bushy haired witch up the spiral staircase. They arrived on a landing that had a small staircase at the end. There were several doors on each side. They walked past some plain doors, an open bathroom door and then climbed the stairs onto another landing. This one only had a few doors, each with colourful additions to the doors. Each had names on them as well. They read:
Lily Minerva Potter
Roisin Aoife Weasley-Lovegood
Rose Granger-Parkinson
Scorpius Potter
Maisy Brown-Patil
Aislinn looked at the plain door at the end, and then opened it. Inside was a bed, and nothing else. IT was a rather small room.
"In the morning, we will sort out your room and make it look exactly how you want it to. Obviously, we will make it bigger and probably change the bed. But it is late so we will save that for tomorrow. If your stuck for ideas you can check the other children's rooms. Goodnight!" The women said, closing the door. Aislinn put on the set of pyjamas that where sitting on her bad and then crawled under the sheets. She fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
