Chapter 1
That vampire said he had the perfect relic to summon in his word's, 'One of the world's greatest heroes.' As a rule Karyia didn't trust a word that Zouken said.
But…
His eyes warily turned to the small girl he swore to save. Her eyes were lifeless purple instead of the gentle kindness that filled her former blue eyes before her 'training'. I gritted my teeth as I saw the hopeless acceptance of her fate.
This was his only chance to save her.
He had absolutely no skill in magic. Never really pursued it due to his father, a fact he regretted since knowing magecraft could have helped significantly for his current predicament. So his only chance is to play his father's game no matter how much he hated it.
This is it.
Using the modified chant his father gave him to summon the servant into a unique class similar to what the Enizbern did during the last war. He held out his right hand and began chanting.
Let silver and steel be the essence
Let stone and archduke of contracts become the foundation
Let red be the color I pay tribute to
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall
Let the 4 cardinal gates close
If you heed the Grail's call and obey my will and reason, than answer me
Kariya's prayer was one of salvation. Not for himself but for Sakura who has been abandoned by her family and left in the care of the monster known as Zouken Mauto.
Hereby I swear
That I shall be all the good in the world
That I shall defeat all the evil of this world
So please, he begged to the powers that be, please save her.
You 7 heavens, clad in 3 great worlds of power, come forth from the circle of binding
O Ruler of Balance!
The room was filled with an immeasurable amount of light.

How long has been since I arrived in the Throne of Heroes. That was a question I asked everyday day when I opened my eyes. It was really hard to tell since the Throne was outside Space and Time so no one actually knows how long they have been here.
Dam my luck being reborn in the Nasuverse and in a time period and position for me to be recorded into the Throne of Heroes. My 2nd life was filled with joys and sorrows. I have many regrets but I would not undo them.
Yet the Throne or to be more precise the Holy Grail couldn't accept my answer. So it tempted me with memories of my past. Trying it's best to make me succumb to the desire of changing the past and fixing my regrets or with the opportunity to fight strong opponents. Sucks to be you Grail I'm a firm believer the past is the past and changing it is nothing more than a fool's way to escape their mistakes. Plus I'm not a battle junkie like a certain blue clad dog.
I looked in front of me to see the image of me, my wife and daughter playing in my favorite garden. One of my happiest memories in my second life. I have seen this memory million of times tempting me to change the fate that awaited us. Yet I stand firm in my decision the past is the past there's nothing I wish to change.
Then something unexpected happened, the flowers in the garden suddenly bloomed and the petals were carried by a sudden wind. I spotted a small pink petal coming towards my hand. I opened my palm as it landed in the center of it. I felt a strong surge of emotions coming through this petal.
"Please someone save her. Save Sakura! PLEASE!"
I felt images penetrating my mind of a girl no older than 7 who have lifeless eyes. I immediately knew this girl, Sakura Matou. A girl who was betrayed by her family and was left to rot. It reminded me of how my father-in-law treated my wife. Despite his good intentions he abandoned her for the heir he wished for.
Dam it! Fine you want me to play your game, then you better prepare because I play to win!

The summoning circle shined with power and prana wildly flowed through the room. Zouken's parasites squirmed excitedly at the delicious energy now feeding the chamber.
Sakura in her agony barely paid attention to it, she merely turned to the light.
Than he appeared
A Legend from long past, sang and praised by the entirety of humanity
A Heroic Spirit
Kariya's Servant in the war.
He was average height yet he cast a presence that demanded their respect or undying loyalty. The servant has crimson red hair with sharp purple eyes. He was wearing a black and red clock covering his sliver armour. His sword was sheathed in a black sheath with ancient runes and something else that the other occupants of the room could not recognize.
The servant looked at Kariya before he asked, "I'm the servant Ruler. I asked, `Are you my Master?" Ruler finished in a tone that held an underlying tone of bemusement as if he was in on an inside joke.
Kariya swallowed a lump in his throat and answered, "I'm."
Ruler looked into Kariya's eyes then showed a small smirk. "Very well first thing fist." Ruler said. He looked at Zouken for a brief moment before flicking his fingers. In that same exact moment Zouken caught fire.
The fire was no ordinary fire, not far from it. The golden fire that was consuming Zouken produced no heat but both Sakura and Kariya could feel it's power and how dangerous it was.
As for Zouken he was experiencing the most horrific thing he has ever felt. His body itself was fine, the fire was never meant to damage his body but his soul. He was on the ground squirming along with his brethren parasites in pain.
"Imperial Judgement of the Righteous Emperor." Ruler spoke in a cold unforgiving tone as he walked up to Zouken and looked down on him, "It's one of mine Noble Phantasms in this container. I created this spell to kill a specific man who had a similar parasitic nature to you. The fire will never harm anyone physically no it burns one's soul. Even if you have hundreds if not thousands of containers for your sad and pathetic excuse for a soul the fire will never end until your soul is no more. The best thing is there will be no reincarnation, no afterlife for you because your soul will be erased from existence from the Root. So hurry up and die you pathetic worm."
In a few seconds Zouken and every crest worm all dried up and turned to dust. Kariya couldn't believe what he saw. Zouken, that old worm who had lived for centuries and seemed impossible to kill was just that. Killed, right in front of him. It was a miracle.
As Kariya was in shock of what he had just seen as Ruler was walking down the steps towards Sakura. Sakura was still laying on the ground as Ruler kneeled and caressed her cheeks and smiled at her.
"Your nightmare has ended now you can dream now." Ruler said as Sakura felt her heavy eyes fall down.
Ruler wrapped Sakura in his cloak as he walked up the stairs to Kariya. "As for you master I believe you need to rest because we have a long fight ahead of us." Ruler said as he hypnotized his master to fall asleep.
I hate myself for my own weakness.
