Chapter 5
Sesshomaru sighed angrily. He'd happily oblige his old friend and agree to any favor the older man would ask of him. But this? This was too much. Sesshomaru couldn't even imagine how he'd accomplish such a task.
"It would only be until a second teacher can be hired?" Sesshomaru inquired.
"Yes. If I am unable to find a suitable replacement by winter break, then I shall take over the class." Bokuseno asked.
"Why not just take it over now?" Sesshomaru answered back.
"I have a large workload as it is Sesshomaru. I wouldn't be able to balance it all." Bokuseno replied.
"Very well. Only until Winter break. I have to go." Sesshomaru stood.
"Of course. Thank you, Sesshomaru." Bokuseno offered a smug grin.
He knew Sesshomaru would accept regardless of whether he offered to take over later or not. Sesshomaru would never turn down the challenge.
Sesshomaru walked out, annoyed and angered, making his way to his classroom.
/
"One more minute, and the teacher from hell will be late! I can't wait to lock him out of the damn room!" Koga smirked.
"Ha! That'd be fucking great! He can't grade us on a lesson we couldn't hear clearly from the hallway!" Inuyasha laughed.
"Puppy, don't be mean. I wonder what could've happened to him?" Kagome said, looking at the door.
"Thirty seconds to go!" Koga stood so he could lock the door.
With ten seconds remaining, Sesshomaru's class began counting down. By the time they reached one, everyone had cheered as Koga locked the door.
Sesshomaru watched as his class cheered and awaited the inevitable humiliation of trying to open his main classroom door.
Were they so simple-minded that they had forgotten about the door in the back of the classroom?
Koga took a seat in Sesshomaru's chair and began looking around.
"What are you doing, dipshit?" Inuyasha got up and walked to his friend.
"Lookin' for a key or somethin? Let's get the answers to his tests and change some shit around. Mr.Numbnutts will never even notice." Koga said, searching the tidy desk.
Sesshomaru rose a brow to this statement. He adored catching his students in acts that led to their punishment.
"Doubt it. Sesshomaru switches his shit up all the time just to make it harder. The ass. Let's superglue his stuff to the desk!" Inuyasha suggested.
"Hey!? Aren't you his brother? You both shouldn't be messing with Mr. Taishos's desk! Sit down and wait for him to get here!" Rin demanded. She stood up and unlocked the main door.
Before the two teen boys could laugh and continue, Sesshomaru cleared his throat and began walking to the head of his class.
"Miss Miko, that door is to remain locked during the duration of my class. The only door that remains open would be the back door used for emergency instances. Mr. Wolfson, Inuyasha.-Sesshomaru hit them with a threatening stare.-Sit." Sesshomaru demanded as he stood at the marker board.
"Oh fuck." Inuyasha said under his breath.
"Shit, shit fucking shit!" Koga said to himself as he went back to his desk.
"You both, for obvious reasons, have detention today and half an hour tomorrow as you both have earned enough strikes with your foul language." Sesshomaru wrote his lesson on the marker board with ease and grace.
Rin beamed at her teacher. She was happy to lock the door once more and take her seat. She didn't enjoy the fact that she had lost time with him before class started, but maybe there was a way she could see him after class?
Sesshomaru had decided to change his lesson for the day and deliver a back-breaking amount of work for the teenagers that occupied his classroom.

"I don't know, sis. It's like he doesn't even care? I've tried everything!" Sara spoke on her car's Bluetooth as she drove.
"Maybe he's not interested in sex because he wants a more meaningful relationship with you?" Kikyo spoke as she packed away the items from a box marked kitchen.
"Maybe. Lately, all he's interested in is sex but on his time! Everything is so scheduled and organized! I really just want the best for him, you know?" Sara spoke sadly as she stopped at a traffic light.
"I can't say that I understand your situation. Maybe you can invite him over for dinner here? Rin can make her chocolate cake, and you can take credit for it." Kikyo joked over the phone.
Sara laughed as she began slowly accelerating. She had missed her best friend and her daughter so much. They had moved away when Rin was only six years old.
Sara had occasionally visited them, but now she had the chance to see them every day!
"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea! I'll ask him this weekend. I'll see you tonight! Love you, sis!" Sara smiled at the thought of seeing the closest thing to family she had left.
"See you tonight. Love you too, drive safely." Kikyo smiled softly, hanging up the phone.
Kikyo sighed and continued packing away her boxes. Her best friend was known for being a little wild, but Sara had a wonderful heart.
Kikyo knew Sara loved this man she spoke of to no end. She just wanted more for him. His job was demanding and depressed him, so Sara explained to Kikyo. For some reason, though, the man, her sister, loved chose to remain as a science teacher in high school.

"Mr.Taisho? I've finished my test.-Rin held the paper in her hand tightly.-I also wanted to turn this in. I never had the chance with everything from earlier." Rin stood to approach Sesshomaru's desk.
This earned her a unified gasp from the students she shared a class with. Rin looked back and saw Inuyasha silently laughing at her inevitable doom, while Kagome just palmed her face and shook her head.
"Miss Miko. I see you have chosen to invite yourself to my desk. You truly wish to stand out in my classroom? Make it obvious that you believe yourself wiser than any in this room? Let's see. An extra credit report that you assume I'd find gratifying? Why because I was reading one of the books from the series the other day? How very original. None of my students ever paid attention to my books before and turned in papers about them.-Sesshomaru slammed down a bunch of extra credit reports he was currently grading on the same subject.-Oh well, what was I thinking? Of course, yours would be better. You've done a report on the entire series. Similar to about forty-five percent of my students. Allow me to grade your extra credit report now, would you? Class, please set down your pencils. I'd like your attention at this time since I've already piqued so much of your interest that you all have stopped in the middle of Going Over Your Work!-Sesshomaru emphasized as he stood from his desk. He pulled out his red marker and began marking off everything wrong about Rin's report.-Misspelled, incorrect punctuation. It would appear that Miss Miko believes herself to be in kindergarten, perhaps? Well, if that is the case, then please see yourself to the administrative office and let them know you do not belong in my classroom!" Sesshomaru threw at her the low-grade papers.
Rin held the papers thrown at her in shock. How could she have made such silly mistakes!
Sesshomaru pushed forward his glasses that slid down some during his rant. He then looked at his watch and realized his class would end momentarily.
"That is all for today. Pack your things and finish the books written on the board. I expect all to be read in full." Sesshomaru turned to erase the names of the books he had written earlier and prepare for his next class.
Half his class complained as they did not take notes of what he wrote, while the other half used to their sadistic teacher's ways were not as upset; however, they were not too happy with the amount of homework he had given out.
"Mr.Taisho?" Rin started, and the class ran out as the bell rang.
"Yo! Don't you ever learn! Let's go before he straight-up murders you!" Koga said, walking out with Ayame under his arm.
Sesshomaru exhaled angrily out his nose while turning to face his annoying student.
"Yes. Miss Miko?" Sesshomaru asked, seething.
"The papers you had us all doing before I interrupted your class. Do we bring them back tomorrow morning to be graded?" Rin asked, smiling.
Sesshomaru was caught off guard by the girl's genuine smile. It was actually very alluring. He gathered himself and turned the young girl to face the emptied classroom.
"You are to leave it on your desk. I shall return the papers tomorrow morning after they have been graded. Leave my class now, Miss Miko." Sesshomaru took the paper from her and began collecting the rest.
"Yes, sir. Thank you for the lesson today!" Rin waved and smiled brightly.
Sesshomaru rolled his eyes while his back was turned and said nothing.
When Rin exited the class, her friends awaited her in the hall.
"Rin!" Kohaku called out.
"Holy shit! You got nerves of steel or something!?" Inuyasha gently knuckled her shoulder.
"Rin, you really gotta stop bothering Mr. Taisho. He may not have mentioned this, but the extra credit he gives out if it's not perfect it lowers your grade in his class." Kagome warned.
"I thought you were really brave! I love that you stood up for him at the beginning of class, and even after he totally went off on you, you still had the nerve to ask another question! You have great determination Rin! Please consider my offer about joining the cheer squad!" Ayame hugged the young teen and went back beside her boyfriend.
"You are either super fearless or mega dumb? Don't you know that because of this asshole, you could end up spending the next five years in this hell hole!?" Koga asked.
"Umm? That's a lot to take in all at one time." Rin smiled.
Kohaku smiled back and held her hand. "It's ok. It's mostly just all of us saying you're pretty awesome for standing up to Mr. Taisho. Let's get to our next class." Kohaku smiled kindly and led his friend away.
Everyone made silent remarks about them being lovers and allowed the young kids to go about their day.
Sesshomaru had heard everything said outside his door. If he was honest with himself, he was much harder on the young girl than he was usually to any.
He looked over her test and was amazed to find she had executed the entire paper in perfection. "No wonder she didn't go over her work. She knew it was flawless." Sesshomaru scored it below fifty percent. If she was willing to stand out in his class, then she could do better.
Her paper was not up to college-level perfection and was barely passible for his standards. Compared to everyone else who overlooked and corrected their mistakes, however. Rin had made none.
Sesshomaru filed away his work as his next class began walking in.
/
Rin sat at the lunch table with Kohaku, his sister Sango, her boyfriend Miroku, and the loving couple Inuyasha and Kagome.
There had been a minor spat between Miroku and Inuyasha once more, and even Sango had delivered a pretty hard hit to the dark-haired teen's head.
All in all, though, everyone seemed to get along pretty well? Rin couldn't understand how you could be best friends with someone you so often got into fights with? Or how could you be in love with someone who was so perverted they bothered you?
Rin just smiled and began to scribble more in her notebook.
Kohaku noticed his friend's attention drifting away and tried to see what had her so captivated that her ham and cheese sandwich was getting stale.
"What you doing, Rin? Homework?" Kohaku leaned over.
Rin pressed her notebook to her chest and looked up at her long-time friend.
"No, nothing important. I'm kinda sleepy." Rin smiled.
"I bet." Kohaku chuckled. He knew his friend had probably been up all night writing her report.
Kohaku, thinking back to how rude his English teacher was to his long-time friend, became upset. His face wore it as he was no good at hiding his feelings.
"Kohaku? Everything ok?" Sango asked her younger brother.
"Hm? Oh! Ugh? Yeah! Everything is-"Kohaku was cut off.
"So you and Miroku coming over?" Inuyasha asked after he swallowed the bite of his sandwich that Kagome had fed him.
"Your brother seems to be in a bad mood? Do you think he'd allow it?" Miroku questioned as his hand gently caressed the wide hips of his shapely girlfriend.
Sango blushed and leaned in closer to her handsome boyfriend. She adored the way he made her feel. It almost canceled out his horribly lecherous ways...Almost.
"He's only a hard ass at school. He'll be totally fine by this afternoon." Inuyasha assured.
"What if he had plans with Sara?" Kagome questioned.
"Who the hell cares! He ruined my plans with you the other day! Paybacks a bitch!" Inuyasha answered back, angry.
"Puppy. That's not nice. It's not like it was intentional. Why don't you go talk to him?" Kagome suggested pointing to Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru sat in the far corner of the cafeteria, reading a book as he finished his unsatisfactory lunch.
Joining him was Jaken. Who cleaned up from around and occasionally made small talk with the English teacher.
"Yeah, ok. Love you, Mias!" Inuyasha kissed her head.
"Love you to puppy!" Kagome smiled and kissed her boyfriend back, waving as he left.
"What we're you guys talking about? Do Inuyasha and Mr. Taisho live together?" Rin asked.
"No. Inuyasha lives with his parents. Occasionally he stays the weekends with Sesshomaru, though." Kagome answered, popping a chip into her mouth.
"Oh. It is not the weekend, though? Is he still staying?" Rin asked.
"Yeah. He might be staying with Sesshomaru until Monday. It depends on whether his parents finish up with remodeling sooner." Kagome began drinking her water.
"Hey! Sesshomaru.-Inuyasha walked up, tucking his hands into his pockets.-I gotta ask you a favor. And since you owe me for yesterday." Inuyasha began.
"Owe you? What pray tell do I owe you?" Sesshomaru set down his book to focus on his annoying younger brother.
"You got Kagome kicked outta the house, and now dads throwing me out as well. He said I'm staying with you because of my attitude or whatever." Inuyasha fibbed slightly.
Yes, Toga had suggested Inuyasha stay with Sesshomaru, but that was only if Inuyasha did not drop his attitude and stopped seeing Kagome.
Inuyasha kept that bit of information to himself. He hadn't wanted to think about the possibility of ever walking away from the perfect girl.
"I did nothing of the sort. Whatever happened between Toga and myself had nothing to do with you and your silly girlfriend. I'll call him and speak to him about this absurd punishment." Sesshomaru said while lifting his book to continue reading.
He did feel guilty about what had happened, but what could he possibly do? There was nothing. Nothing aside from permanently adopting his little brother into his house.
And Sesshomaru had no interest in taking a permanent role in raising his younger half-brother.
"Look! You know you caused him to lash out! He and my mom's argued all night long!-Inuyasha lied once more, shuddering at the memory of Toga and Izayoi. The couple often fought and loudly. However, they always made up the same night, and that they did much louder.-I couldn't call Kagome or anything all night because of you! Please!" Inuyasha begged.
"Inuyasha. You'll have to go back to the beginning of your rant. You seem to have skipped over the part where I am supposed to care about any of this." Sesshomaru answered.
"Can you not be a dick today? Please!" Inuyasha begged.
He gave Sesshomaru his lost little boy look. Which Inuyasha knew always worked on his older brother.
Sesshomaru rolled his eyes and immediately regretted his decision as he made it.
"How long." Sesshomaru sighed defeatedly.
"You're the best! I guess until Monday comes around? Kagome and them are coming over after school as well so we can all study! Thanks, bro, your the best!" Inuyasha ran off before his brother could object.
Sesshomaru didn't even bother yelling after his brother. He knew it was all a lie, to begin with. Sesshomaru decided to go back to his book before his workday would start yet again.
"Sesshomaru said it's cool!" Inuyasha leaped into his seat next to Kagome.
"Awesome! That means we'll have every day after school and this whole weekend together!" Kagome beamed.
"Great, Sango and I can meet you after dinner tonight." Miroku offered.
"What? Why? Just have dinner with us?" Inuyasha looked at his friend confusedly.
"I'd love to. But I invited Sango and her family over tonight. My uncle Mushin is making a special dinner." Miroku held his girlfriend's hand lovingly.
Sango blushed and kissed Miroku on his cheek. "You don't have to go through any trouble." Sango insisted.
"It's no trouble at all. I want to do this." Miroku squeezed her hand gently.
"Awww! That's so sweet!" Kagome smiled.
Inuyasha wore an annoyed look. He wasn't upset or bothered that his friends would come over later or anything. It just annoyed him that it seemed like Miroku inviting Sango and her family over had a different meaning than all the times he had invited Kagome over for dinner.
"Keh, whatever. You guys are welcome anytime. Good luck with your dinner." Inuyasha looked away sourly.
"Do you want to join Rin? I'm sure your mom wouldn't mind?" Kohaku asked.
"I'd love to! But I can't. My aunt is coming over tonight." Rin smiled.
"I guess it'll just be you and me than Inuyasha?" Kagome said suggestively as she nudged her boyfriend.
"Yeah. I guess." Inuyasha answered, still moping.
Kagome didn't pry into her boyfriend's moodiness too much. She'd ask him later what was bothering him.
Rin smiled as she chewed her food. How exciting! She wondered what her teacher's home would look like? Maybe Inuyasha would invite her over this weekend!
This school was proving to be more fun than Rin had ever even imagined!
