Hey guys! So… Yeah. I know that I haven't been posting in SO LONG. The thing is, I do have school now - as in actual school, not virtual. And when I haven't been doing school and homework, I just haven't been engaged in writing on fanfiction. I am so sorry for not posting in such a long time and I apologize to those who were excited for more updates! Please let me know if you're still here to read. :) However, I have a feeling New Seas just might be what I need to get engaged… HERE IT IS GUYS! Dawn, Pebbleblaze, and Heronflight are getting back together for an AWESOME ADVENTURE that may or may not include three other awesome protagonists. It's a good thing Brambleberry is so protective of our cat heroes… but you'll find out why! And as I always say, enjoy!
PROLOGUE
The moon shone down as silver as a polished stone. Beneath it lay a pool, and beside the pool, a she-cat. She had soft white fur dotted with black spots. Her eyes were blue like a river and her nose was a bright pink color.
Suddenly, without warning, the she-cat retaliated. She unsheathed her claws and scored them into the earth, forming deep niches.
As if on cue, a blue-gray she-cat entered the scene. She had beautiful ocean-blue eyes that sparkled like miniature diamonds.
"Brambleberry, what's wrong?" she asked. "You seem to be distressed."
Brambleberry faced her. Her eyes were deep and troubled with fear. "Mistystar… The time has come."
Mistystar's tail straightened and spiked as she realized what Brambleberry's direct words meant. "No… It's too soon."
Brambleberry nodded in understanding. "It is; it has only been two weeks since they departed."
"And Dawn…" Mistystar muttered. "This cannot happen! Sh-she can't lose them."
"It will only be for a little while," Brambleberry reassured her. She rested her tail on the former RiverClan leader's shoulder to comfort her.
Mistystar shook it off. "No matter how long it is, I cannot allow this to occur. This will shatter her heart. She lost Ice… what in the stars will she think if she loses them? How I wish StarClan could walk her skies!" She hissed at her comrade.
Brambleberry shook her head gently. "It took me much strength for my few journeys there. But… I may be able to send help."
"You can bring Heronflight and Pebbleblaze there," Mistystar noticed with brief shock. "That will be risky."
"It does not matter. They can help her. They have a good friendship; a strong bond," Brambleberry replied. "Do you trust me?"
Mistystar thought it over. Then she sighed and flicked her tail, calming it. "Yes. You are very wise, Brambleberry; of course I do not doubt your insight. Let us hope…" She looked up at the sky. "Let us hope they will all be alright."
Bang.
The sound repeated itself twice, startling the she-cat. She held her caramel colored tail erect. "What was that?" She shook the rest of herself awake and softly prodded three Twolegs awake.
As she padded downstairs, the stars above her shone cold and listless. No StarClan was present.
She peeked over the edge of the tower. No one was in sight, yet curiosity prodded her like an annoying twig. The she-cat glanced back at her friends and then lightly made her way down, hopping from a few jutting-out rocks to reach the bottom.
And for a heartbeat, she thought they were alone. With what happened next, she wished it could have been true.
The panic was a blur. She just knew that a net was thrown and that she narrowly avoided it thanks to her reflexes.
But when she turned around… she was the only one that had escaped.
Instantly, images flashed through her head. Of finding the truth; of nothing but pure will driving her on; of lightning and thunder and despair.
She tried to stop the situation, but she was too late. Naturally, the thieves had brought a getaway tool: a motor-propelled boat.
The engine was revved and the she-cat bolted. Her muscles were aching and her breath was coming in gasps, but she forced herself to keep moving.
The sea drew nearer to her, but it couldn't stop her. In fact, probably nothing could. She was not going to lose them. Her caramel paws splashed through the water which trickled onto her creamy pelt.
"Wait, Dawn, just stay there. You'll find us, right?"
The she-cat halted. "I-I… I don't… I don't want to-"
"You will. Don't keep coming. It'll be okay."
The she-cat found it hard to believe those words. "It'll be okay." But she didn't go forward. Not was the water getting deeper, coming up to her belly, but she also had been told not to. And that was enough.
Then another shout was aimed at her.
"You see this, foolish cat? This is for showing me down! Let's see you win that race this year… without a team, of course."
The she-cat growled. "You can't. I won't let you." Her words were barely audible yet so much force was put into them. She watched the boat until it had disappeared from view. She managed to trudge back onto the shore before she collapsed, shaking. Something wet plopped onto the stones, and it wasn't sea water.
"StarClan, if you're here… Please, help me," she begged.
A warm scent surrounded her. It was familiar and comforting in the form of a mother to her kit.
"I'm sorry," a voice whispered in her ear. "But it will be worth it in the end. Just hold on, young one."
