Tonight was the night, Caroline was finally going to tell Damon she loved him! Although it scared the hell out of her, she knew she had to. She knew she was so completely in love with him.

Mystic Falls the same old Mystic Falls. It hadn't changed a bit, yes there were a couple improvements done to restaurants and shops but other than that it looked like the same town she had grown up in. The same town she met her best friends in, the same town she won Miss Mystic Falls in, the same town she met the live of her life in-

Caroline shuddered at the thought of the so called 'Love of her Life'. Caroline always knew she had the worst taste in men, but... she thought he would be different, that Damon would be different.

Caroline was brought back to reality when she heard a shriek from the backseat. A rush of panic came over her as she realized she had almost hit a mailbox. The car came to a screeching halt. She turned around to face the brunette in the backseat. " Gracie are you ok?" The brunette's only reply was "Yes, Mom. I'm fine" she said it in her cheeky voice that made Carolines heart gush.

Gracie was only 9 years old, going on ten, but she was the most beautiful little girl Caroline had ever seen. Gracie could be a child model if she wanted to be. With her curly dark golden brown hair, and blue eyes that would make you look twice to make sure that they were really that blue. Her rosie cheeks and button nose. She was truly the most beautiful child Caroline had ever laid eyes on. But then again she could be biased, she was her child.

Caroline directed a relieved smile at the girl and started the car.

Damon was woken up by the sound of his alarm going off. God I hate that thing he thought. He looked over to the other side of the bed, when he saw the empty space he assumed Elena had left for work. Just to make sure...

"Elena!"

No reply, I guess she really did leave for work. Damon decided he should do the same, he got up to go take a shower and then went downstairs to get a cup of coffee before leaving.

"Hey" a voice said that almost gave Damon a heart attack. When he realized who it was he sighed "Hey, you scared me. You know if this is how this is going to work then we're going to need to set some ground rules."

"Really like what" the blonde said, as Damon was getting a piece of paper and a pen. "Serious aren't we"

"Yes, I am serious." Damon said in a harsh tone that made Klaus laugh.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing it's just that you are actually serious, it's just kinda ironic." The sandy haired man said. "How is it ironic?"

"Damon when have you ever played by the rules, Damon Salvatore doesn't do rules" another voice said.

"Wow that was cold Jer, real cold." "Hey I'm just starting the facts." He practically laughed out.

"So what time do you guys wanna leave for Stefan and Bonnies barbecue?" Klaus and Jeremy could tell that Damon was confused and kind of shocked by the look on his face. Damon was the first to speak. "Stefan and Bonnie are having a barbecue?"

"Yeah, for their engagement" Jeremy said as if it was obvious. "Did you forget?" Klaus asked. "I wasn't invited" Damon said with a blank face. "Oh" Jeremy said as Klaus shifted awkwardly in his sit. " I mean you at least knew they got engaged-"

"I didn't even know they were together" Damon said starting to walk out of the kitchen. "I got to go to work" he said with his back facing the men in the kitchen.

As Damon exited, a little girl with red hair entered. "What's wrong with him." Neither Klaus or Jeremy answered. "Dad I gotta go to school or else I'm gonna be late."

Shit "Crap! Ok you go wait in the car I'll go change and- wait!" "Wait what?" Hope asked. " Can't your mom drive you" Klaus asked. "No she can't, she's asleep." "Great. Ok give me 5 minutes." Klaus said as he ran upstairs. "You want me to drive you?" Jeremy asked. "No, he's just gonna be upset if I got him in such a rush, just to do nothing." "Okay, but your passing up a good opportunity." Jeremy teased. Hope laughed and got in the car.

Okay so I know this is a short chapter but I promise the next one will be longer. I'm going to try and upload at least once a week.

There may or may not be a Daroline meeting in the next chapter and there may be some new yet familiar faces.
