Prologue
Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She had two loving parents, and in their (totally unbiased) opinion, she was the kindest, sweetest child that they had ever known. Everyone who knew her agreed, and it was often said that she should have been born as a princess.
Marinette was the kind of girl who believed in everything, from talking animals to fairy godmothers, just like her mother. Everyone loved the Dupain-Chengs, for they were always ready to help anyone, and they were known to be some of the kindest people in the entire kingdom.
Marinette's childhood was wonderful and carefree, but alas, nothing lasts forever, and sorrow can still strike in even the happiest of homes.
When Sabine Dupain-Cheng fell ill and died, much changed, including her husband. However, Marinette took her mother's final words to heart and was always brave and kind. She missed her mother dearly, and never took off her mother's last gift to her, a pair of small, round, black earrings.
Thus Marinette Dupain-Cheng's story begins...
A/N: Just so you know, I'm 13 and this is my first fanfic ever, so if you don't like it, don't be mean about it. I've been reading fanfiction for ages, and I finally decided it was time to write my own after not ever being able to find a MLB/Cinderella AU that was both satisfactory and complete, so here is my version, and I hope you like it! I hope people actually read it... If you have constructive criticism to give me, please do, but be nice. If you have any good suggestions for MLB or HP fanfic for me to read, please let me know! Thank you, and thanks for reading my story (if anyone actually does)!
P. s. Don't worry, the rest of the chapters are much longer than the prologue!
