I haven't written in a loooong time so bear with me whilst I get to grips with things again.

This is essentially a novelisation of Justice League: Apokolips War, but with more in between scenes, mostly surrounding Raven though. This Fic is based of the DCAMU, not the beloved TT show that we all know. Not this time. So things are a little different. If you don't know much about this universe, I definitely recommend you go watch the movies, their great and well worth it!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Please R&R

Chapter 1

"Titus, no! Bad dog!"

A black mass followed by a red one bolted down a matt, grey hallway.

"Give it back! I have a live stream in five minutes!"

The red mass transformed into a green cheetah in an attempt to catch the young Great Dane with a phone in his mouth. With its prey in sight, the Cheetah couldn't help but smirk. He knew these corridors like the back of his paw this dog didn't stand a chance. This particular route didn't have a split intersection for another two hundred metres. A cheetah can sustain their top speed just that amount of time. Perfect. This overgrown puppy was a sitting duck in three, two-

Just as the Cheetah had pounced, black energy engulfed the airborne mammal.

Not fair! He growled out in his brain.

"What do you think you're doing?" came a feminine voice from a room directly to his right.

Unable to move a single muscle, he had no choice other than to keep looking forward. He knew who it was. There wasn't another person was like her. Knowing that she would grant him the ability to speak, the Cheetah quickly decided to defend his case.

"The stupid mutt has my phone!"

Eyes forward, he saw Titus come to a stop in front of him, tail wagging and his teeth grinding against the phone screen. Wincing at the damage, the Cheetah could have sworn that animal was smirking.

Was that a wink? He had planned this! The hell hound knew who lived in this corridor! It knew that he would be too focused on fetching to realise it until it was too late! Damn him! Damn Da-

"If he heard you insulting his pedigree, then you probably deserved it," came a more masculine voice.

Damn him too.

"If he's anything like his owner, all I had to do was look at him the wrong."

His only response was a light chuckle from beside him. As his mouth opened to retort the black restraints holding him in the air disappeared. Unprepared, his face quickly met the floor; earning him a more feminine chuckle as the now green-skinned boy released a painful groan from the floor. Titus was thrilled to see his enemy put down. The ebony beast eagerly marched over to his archnemesis, sitting down on Beast Boy's back declaring victory.

"Titus," the Great Dane's ears perked up. "Give." Wagging his tail, he gave up his new toy to his owner's hand. It would be their trophy. "Here you go Gar."

Titus' tail came to an abrupt stop as his master offered the gift back to the Green one. Water threatened to spill from Garfield's eyes when he saw what was in Robin's hand. It was his phone with several deep scratches across its screen and thick saliva dripping from its edges; ruined, again.

"Man! That's the third one this month!"

Beast Boy snatched it out of his teammate's hand and rolled out from underneath the horse-dog.

"Why me?" He cried out. "Why does this only happen to me? He doesn't do it to Donna or Jaime! Why me!?"

His answer was another chuckle from the girl dressed in navy blue and black.

"Maybe he's trying to teach you the responsibility of ownership," came her response.

"That's great and all, but if he could not use my phone to do it, then that would be great."

The Green Boy was furiously trying to wipe off his phone-hoping it could be salvaged- when something came to him. The two dark-haired heroes were standing outside of Raven's door. More accurately, they had just come from Raven's room, together, alone.

Curious.

"So," he began "What have you guys been doing?"

Beast Boy was so hoping to get a juicy confession from the two (maybe love) birds. His quest earned him a glare from the Daughter of Darkness and a highly unsatisfying answer from the Prince of Assassins.

"Raven was helping me meditate," the answer was very matter-of-factly and instantly bored Garfield. "It helps me focus on something else other than how to dispatch everyone if it came down to it."

That was not at all the answer he was expecting. "Do you do that often?" he inquired with a smile while scratching the back of his head. It was a telltale sign of him trying to make light of his sudden discomfort.

"Quite often actually, but not so much lately. Proof that it's working I presume." Turning to the girl next to him, Robin offered a small smile of gratitude which Raven returned.

Neither seeing Beast Boy's eyes widening at that new confession. What was happening? Were they becoming close? How close? Not wanting to venture down that rabbit hole, he decided to excuse himself. At that moment in time, if priority was a bag of rice. Garfield had taken all of two steps before the intercom sounded.

"All Titans report to the hanger bay. I repeat, all Titans to assemble in the hanger bay."

The trio of heroes looked at each other in confusion before racing towards their destination. His phone would have to wait.

Something was wrong. The Titans East were at the Tower. They never arrived unannounced, even if it was for a social call. The dark-haired duo shared a look of suspicion as they walked into the room. They didn't get very far.

"Beast Boy! My man!" A young speedster with dark skin and a grey, black and red uniform appeared in front of the trio and embraced the shapeshifter in a friendly hug.

"Wallace!? When did you get here?"

"About twenty minutes ago. Did you not see my post?"

"I would have seen it if someone's pet hadn't eaten my phone!" Garfield made sure to send a glare in Robin's direction, which Damian replied to with an eye roll and a shake of his head.

"Oh please, your simplistic needs for instant gratification on social media is pitiful," came the Prince's response.

"I completely agree, Tweety-Bird," came a voice from behind them. It belonged to a dark-haired boy with shaved sides and light grey-eyes. Dressed in a black and blue suit, an amber plate and a red 'S' sat proudly on his chest. "The internet wants to see less you dweebs and more of this little lady." He swung his arm around Raven and pulled her into his chest. "We'd probably get a bigger following we did that."

Robin looked toward to the Sorceress, her body language betraying how uncomfortable she was against Superboy. He resisted the need to intervene; he knew the short-haired girl could handle herself.

Raven turned to her captor. "Sure, let's give away my location to every Trigon following cult on Earth. Why didn't I think about that?"

Superboy looked at the girl under his arm not quite sure how to respond. Using her powers, Raven, released herself from his grasp and marched straight to the rest of the Titans, leaving Connor unsure of how to respond. Shaking his head alongside his rejection, he turned to the guys, with a puffed out chest and smirk. "She digs me."

"Get over yourself Clone," Robin growled pushing passed the boy in blue and following Raven's footsteps.

After several painstaking minutes of catching up and small talk, they were called to attention by a young man wearing a black mask. His black kevlar uniform sported an electric blue bird insignia spread across his chest. The design of the wings stretched out to his shoulders and continuing down to his wrist. Entirely different from his previous alter-ego, purposefully so. Nightwing, a young man in his twenties, stood independently from the two sister teams.

"Titans," his voice was stern and to the point.

Something was most definitely wrong. Raven's empathic abilities were picking up hints of panic which the former Robin tried to cover with determination. He was psyching himself up. Why? There was always nerves when addressing the team, even on a red alert, but not panic. What was going on?

"The League has called us together for a mission. One of upmost importance. What we're about to hear is strictly confidential," he gave Beast Boy and Kid Flash a stern look, aiming his comment at them in particular. "Remember, we're The Titan's. We represent the future of The League."

Beast Boy scratched the back of his head and smiled at Wallace. "Dude, this was way too deep for a Sunday afternoon."

Kids Flash nodded in agreement, starting to feel apprehensive about this meeting. Clearing his throat and stretching out his fingers, he tried to shake off the onslaught of negative thoughts. Nevertheless, no matter how hard he tried, Raven still picked up on the Speedster's feelings. It wasn't just him. Everyone seemed to be unknowingly projecting their emotions, nervousness, suspicion, doubt, determination and many others. It was all incredibly intense and sudden, forcing the sorceress' powers to come bubbling to the surface. Afraid they would boil over, she began to take deep breaths and internally chanting her.

Azarath Metrion Zinthos.

She could not allow herself to appear weak in front of The League. They were already wary of her. Wonder Woman and Zatanna would certainly not miss her if she disappeared. There was no need to add their flame of hatred.

The screen before them came to life showing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman standing together facing The League. They were the three pillars of the Justice League. The Kryptonian must have seen that they had tuned in as he began to address both teams.

"Thank you for responding so quickly," he began, his voice woeful in tone.

Raven frowned to herself. What was going on? A question that Raven seemed to be repeating in her head again and again. Hoping she was overthinking things, she silently chanted her mantra to calm her mind. Azarath Metrion Zinthos.

"Some of you already know what this is about," he addressed the teams. "But I wanted to get the new members up to speed." Holographic images appeared in between Wonder Woman and Batman showing a planet made of what seemed to be fire, lava and machinery. "This is Apokolips, homeworld of Darkseid; a power-mad Death God who has orchestrated two attempted invasions of Earth. The first of which resulted in the formation of the Justice League. The second one, an attack within our ranks by Cyborg-Superman and his Cyber Force-"

"He is no God of Death!" A sudden and painful voice slammed its way into Raven's mind. Trigon, her Father. An interdimensional being, an old God, a Lord of Hell and he was furious. He was trying to break free from his bonds inside the gem that sat delicately on Raven's brow. Seemingly, the very idea of a 'new god' had him enraged. "Such disrespect! I am the Destroyer of Worlds, not this-"

The strength of this mental assault was enough to make the half-demon step back, head in hand. It took all her effort to not fall to the ground, now wasn't the time to bring attention to herself. Sadly, the ever-observant Boy Wonder caught the movement from his position in front of her. His eyes narrowed at the sight of Raven's palm over the crimson gemstone. He knew very well what that meant.

Careful not to draw any prying eyes, he called out to her, she didn't seem to hear him. Briefly scanning around to make sure that nobody was looking, Robin attempted a second go. "Raven, what's wrong?" Again no response. Hoping that some physical contact will bring her back, he reached out to touch her hand. "Raven?"

Having managed to push the demon back in his place, The Sorceress finally brought herself back to the present. She had hoped no one had noticed, but with the rising of her head, her eyes locked with Damian's. He had seen, of course, he had. She should have expected as much. It was then that she felt his hand on her's. His feelings of concern followed. Quick to break the connection, Raven tore hand away, folding her arms under her chest.

"It's nothing," was all she said as she directed herself to the screen.

Annoyance and hurt ran through the youngest Robin as he took a few moments to study Raven's face, looking for any form of distress or injury. There were none, but she refused to meet his eyes. Damian gritted his teeth in frustration as he too turned back to the screen. Indeed it was not the time to discuss what happened.

Raven felt everything, she hadn't meant to upset him, but she couldn't tell him. Not here. Not right now. She would apologise later, but for now, the Justice League was their priority.

"This image was taken by surveillance ten hours ago at the edge of the solar system," Batman who spoke this time.

"Apokolips phased into our dimension and released stealth drones, then phased out again," Wonder Woman added.

Stepping forward, Superman declared that this was as an act to war. "Darkseid aims to conquer the Earth and crush it under his heel."

"Look," the Flash interrupted, not sounding convinced by the Kryptonian's declaration. "I know this guy is a homicidal maniac, but are we sure those are his immediate plans or something he'll try in like a thousand years?"

Wonder Woman changed the hologram image from Apokolips to something different. "These are images from worlds that Darkseid has conquered."

The Amazon revealed shocking portraits of various worlds amid the death and destruction of their civilisations. It reminded Raven of her Trigon's work.

"Our intel shows that he has now sent his Elite Guard and the Furies to act as an occupying force to thwart any resistance." The warrior princess made eye contact with The Flash as if challenging him to say something. He didn't. No one did.

They were going to have a worldwide invasion on their hands.

Superman turned to address everyone once again. "I want to make myself perfectly clear. We are facing an existential threat to the planet. We can't wait for Darkseid to make the first move; that could mean the end of us. We have to attack."

"That's a tough job," this voice came from Cyborg; he was often the bridge between The League and The Titans. "Aside from the Big Bad, this place is jampacked with those Parademons."

"The League has faced them before," Batman countered, showing an image of said Parademon, outlining all their weaknesses.

Pride came rolling off of Robin, seeing his father in his element always inspired him.

"With our combined force we can cut through them," Superman assured everyone. "Then, I will do what must be done."

"This is madness!" The voice of Lex Luthor rang through the screen.

"How typical, Coward," Robin growled. Several members, including himself, were still apprehensive about trusting the Billionaire.

A lot of heroes thought that he bought his way on to The League when he created Superboy and helped save the world once. The Suicide Squad had proven themselves worthier allies.

"There's always a deal to be made," Luthor continued. "Let's at least send an envoy to Apokolips-"

"No!" Superman's fist collided with the edge of a counter. A dent left in its wake. "Darkseid created a monster that nearly killed me. What chance would humanity have!? Our only option is to destroy him."

Flash stepped forward. He knew he wouldn't be able to change Kent's mind about open war, but he was going to try. "That means Earth could be ground zero in a World War." Taking a moment to breathe, he turned to face the rest of the League. "Look, I know some of you don't believe in the visions I had about the Flashpoint, but a truly global war means death and destruction on a scale you cannot imagine. Everyone on the planet is at risk. Everyone we care about."

Raven agreed. The Flashpoint was classified information, but she had seen the destruction of her homeworld. The cries of her people, the death of her mother, she remembered it vividly. Earth's defenders were not ready or prepared for that sacrifice.

"The Flash is right," that voice, Raven knew. John Constantine. John Constantine was a wielder of dark magic. If he had become part of the League, perhaps the Big Three would be willing to reconsider her future with them. "Sure, this guy deserves killing, but you can't kick this hornet's nest as if everyone else on Earth is bulletproof."

"Look," Superman began. "I won't ask you to give anything more than I do, but this isn't up for discussion. We're going to stop Darkseid once and for all. Here's how we do it."

Wonder Woman stepped forward to take over tactical. The plan was that the Main team (the Justice League) would go to Apokolips. The Titans would stay on Earth as a Home Guard; they would fight and distract the Elite Guard and the Furies as they invaded the planet. They would serve as a distraction leaving only one regiment of Parademons with Darkseid, making him vulnerable. That is where Superman man will put an end to Darkseid.

That was the plan.

It was the Justice League's plan.

They were the Earth's primary defenders. They knew what they were doing.

Then why did it still feel wrong?
