Fuyuki City, Japan, 1994
Saber drove through town on her motorcycle, weaving in between the cars at speeds that no mortal vehicle should be capable of. She had to find Irisveyl before it was too late. She had to find her before she was killed.
Logically, Saber knew she was probably too late to save her, but she had to try. Following Irisveyl's magical signature she found herself at the church. Irisveyl was in the church? Why?
Quickly, not wanting to waste any time, Saber parked the motorcycle and ran into the church, throwing open the doors. Her heart skipped a beat. She was too late. Saber felt something in her heart break. For there on the altar lay Irisveyl's body, unmoving and still. She looked peaceful in death.
As Saber went up to the altar, intending to still at least stay by her side, Irisveyl's body was consumed by a bright flame. She took a step back, shielding her eyes from the fire. When she looked again, there was the Grail right where Irisveyl used to be. Dimly, Saber was aware of the tears running down her face.
She sensed no other Servants nor any humans nearby, which was odd, for this church should be housing a sanctuary to Kirei Kotomine, Master of Assassin. No matter, she had the chance to complete her wish. To undo the selection of the King.
But did she want that anymore? She looked at the Grail, realizing she had a new wish. Gingerly, she picked up the Grail and whispered "Please come back my lady Irisveyl. I miss you. Let us create a new era of peace where there is no suffering. The world will burn and from it's ashes we will create a new world. One of peace."
The Grail began to glow, and Saber had to fight the feeling to put the Grail down. She clutched it to her chest as blood red light spilled out. Saber blinked, and in her arms was Irisveyl. She looked different, her eyes had become a dark, wine red instead of the lovely ruby they once were. Her dress a dark grey with ruby highlights. Saber knew she should be scared, but she still found Irisveyl beautiful.
"Saber?" breathed Irisveyl, looking up at her with wide eyes.
"My lady," she replied. Saber smiled softly looking at Irisveyl.
"Saber, I heard your wish. To create a new world… I can help you with that. Take my hand and close your eyes. You're already powerful, but I can give you enough to truly restart this world." She grinned up at Saber. "So, my adorable King Of Knights...Will you join me?" Irisveyl gave what could only be described as a blinding smile, yet there was a hint of something darker, something much more sinister than she was letting on.
Without any hesitation in her eyes, Saber took Irisveyl's hand, feeling the power flow through her. Gasping, she opened her eyes again. She felt… different. She felt… powerful. Like she had been missing this part of her for her entire life. Her hair had turned pale yellow, eyes golden. Her dress an elegant black and red, Excalibur, her once-Holy sword now corrupted. She was Arturia Pendragon, King of Britain, and she would save this world from itself. Even if it meant burning it to ashes.
Glancing at Irisveyl in her arms, she quickly but gently set her on a chair. "My Lady Irisveyl, I thank you. Your knight is here, and we will burn away this world to start a new one."
Gracefully standing up, Irisvely smirked at Saber- Saber Alter. "Yes, my King. We will re-write the course of fate. We will save humanity from it's own destruction. Now, come with me, we must build up our defenses… someone somewhere will certainly realize what we are doing. And we must be prepared for when that time happens."
Taking Saber Alter's hand in her own, she led them both out of the church. Smiling sinisterly, Arturia raised her sword, preparing to set this world aflame in cleansing fire.
"EXCALIBUR MORGAN!" she cried out, bringing her sword down in an arc.
She stepped back, watching as the flames quickly began to burn everything they could. The fire reflecting onto Irisveyl's pale skin, sparkling in her blood red eyes, casting shadows upon her. Some would say they looked terrifying, two inhuman women standing against the fire, but others would say it was beautiful.
Neither of them knew that this would be the first in a long chain of events that would bring humanity to an end. Everyone except a certain Ancient King, who found his attention drawn to Fuyuki. Grinning, he laughed.
"Oh yes, this will do quite nicely for my plans."
