This is my OC's they are fully developed and their most powerful. It's not how they will be, at the beginning of their own stories
This document is just to give a small summary of my Gotei 13 captains and lieutenants. Just so I don't forget any characters and if this gets published, well, get ready to read about some MAJORLY OP characters. Now, let's start
Captains
1)Head captain Michael (Redacted) Leader of the 13 Court Guard Squads and Soul Society in the world of the living. This version of it is an unofficial sister group centered in Virginia, USA. The other Soul Society doesn't really like this, but after some convincing, and some skirmishes, they agreed to let it keep existing.
Michael is a Mexican American boy, first getting his powers at 11 when his dog died and he saw the ghost of it leaving this world, he flipped the fuck out and ran. There he was attacked by a horde of Shadows, left over dregs of negative emotions from peoples souls (A bit like Heartless, but, not the actual soul or heart, just the negative energy from them given form). He received a claw slash on his left shoulder where he proudly displays it in later years when he goes around shirtless. Before the Shadows could kill him, a flash of light lit up the sky and his Zanpakuto, a katana, appeared and flew straight into his hand. Feeling as if a hand other than his own was guiding him, Michael slew over a dozen blood thirsty Shadows and lived.
He ran away shortly after, traveling north, his energy and stamina something supernatural so he was able to cover hundreds of miles on foot in a matter of days. He made his way to Alaska, where he was confronted with a serial killer with powers similar to his own. After a brief skirmish, the killer was dead by Michael's hand, but not before receiving a fatal wound that would have killed him if not for Kisuke Urahara finding him, taking him and healing him.
There they traveled to Karakura Town in Japan, where Kisuke became his master and trained him in the ways of the Shinigami, death gods, or soul reaper. Any translation works.
Under Kisuke's tutelage Michael attained powers and strength to that of a lieutenant in 3 months, and after an additional 3 months, attained power of a captain when he unlocked his bankai.
The following years saw Michael returning to the states, where Kisuke, after putting a spell on his parents, explained that he was away on an exchange program. Michael made friends in his last year of middle school, a few of them had powers similar to Michael's. Years Together, him, and 3 others, became the core group of the Soul Society in the world of the living.
Shikai (Form one) Gungnir: Michael was able to utilize different forms of his weapons. In its base Shikai form, Gungnir becomes a long 7 foot long, 1-inch and completely made out of a cobalt blue metal. Its abilities allowed it to use its spiritual pressure, or reiatsu, combined with Michael's to form storm clouds and storm systems. It stores reiatsu and reishi and gives it the appearance that Michael is holding a lightning bolt in his hands. It can form a storm system up to a category 1 hurricane.
The strongest attack is Judgement Bolt.
Bankai: Hregg(Storms and Rain) The Bankai itself is the storm, so it can't be destroyed or damaged, which is why Michael prefers this form whenever he has to go all out. The Zanpaktuo dissolves and merges with the reiatsu of both the storm and Michael. This can make the storm up to a category 5 hurricane after a prolonged battle, so fighting in a cityscape isn't ideal. Additionally, if the storm hasn't formed yet (i.e. if he goes straight into Bankai mode from sword mode, for example) it forms a swirling vortex around his person, electricity crackling like bolts of lightning off of his skin. He can form up to 12 different weapons in any shape or form as he pleases with little effort, they look ethereal outlines of the real deal. (Almost exactly like Noctis's Royal Armigure form in Final Fantasy XV). In this form, his speed is dramatically increased to look like he's lightning itself, and can seemingly teleport.
If he concentrates hard enough he can make dozens of more weapons to use and attack or defend. He can make an ultimate attack and switch to an ultimate defense instantaneously.
The strongest attack is Divine Judgement. He can compress the entire storm into millions of projectiles that can form a dome around him over a mile wide. He lifts his hand into the air, the weapons turn point up and shoot into the sky, then like an executioner's signal, brings his hand down and his opponent or even a city is cascaded down upon by countless projectiles that result in a giant fuck you explosion! Such a feat is comparable to Head Captain Genriyusai Shigugini Yamamoto's Bankai.
2) Brandon Cook. 2nd captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, leader of the Stealth Force.
Brandon is a white male with brown hair and green eyes. He was one of Michael's friends in school and his very second lieutenant after Alex (Captain number 3) was promoted to the captaincy.
The motto of Squad 2 is; In and out, quick and quiet. The stealth force perfects the art of the silent kill and will go to great lengths to avoid being detected. Whether it is killing an innocent person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time or going into deep deep cover.
They met in the 8th grade after a food fight was started and Michael sacrificed his lunch to catch a rouge pizza slice, that was way too hot to touch, with his trey. They've been friends ever since.
Brandon is a quiet guy, always contemplating things, when he's not stone-faced, is sporting a scowl. He wasn't always like this, in Middle school he was happy-go-lucky and made dirty and pervy jokes often. This is because of his experiences and the way his Zanpakuto affects him.
Shikai Anima: His sword turns into a jet-black version of itself. His speed greatly rivals that of Michael's and can become like a pure shadow, completely hiding his reiatsu while at full power. He can shadow travel, make solid shadow tendrils and spikes, and other bladed weapons or projectiles that can pierce or trap an enemy. Every single enemy that Brandon cuts down with his sword, absorbs that person's Shadow (i.e. the negative emotions given off of one's soul or psyche)
The strongest attack is Flash of Death. The crossguard transforms into a cat's eye that slowly opens (Similar to the animation in Thundercats for the "Thunder-thunder-Thundercats HOOOOOO). In a flash of light, he can launch an attack that will instantly kill whomever it touches.
Bankai (Form one) Aeon Anima: Just like that. He throws his sword high into the air which forms a black portal where a chain falls out and strikes the ground, opening another portal into hell. The chain retracts back up brings the Aeon with it. Simple.
Bankai (Final Form) Keimusho no Anima (Anima the jailer): Anime isn't just an awesome demon that has an instant KO attack. No, it is the sole guardian to the Shadows. Every single person that Brandon killed? Yeah, he now has sole ownership of their Shadows. And he's killed a LOT of things. Thousands. Literally, thousands. And after the 1000 year time skip, that number reaches into the millions.
It releases a FLOOD of Shadows that is a virtual army that is at his beck and call. One onlooker who was lucky enough, or unlucky since he was clinically insane thereafter, depicted that it was a "Sea of black ink with millions of blazing yellow eyes that consumed everything it touches." Brandon loses a few Shadows if one detaches itself from the flood, it dissolves into nothingness. After all, a Shadow is just negative emotions given shape and form. Without a body to exist from, it's nothing.
The strongest attack is Dark Brandon. Sacrificing a portion of his army, Brandon imbibes the negative emotions of hundreds and hundreds of Shadows, nearly losing himself in the process. Brandon himself becomes a Shadow and acts as a complete beast. He becomes a shape without form, a being without the state, meaning he can pass through solid objects, command the shadows of the world to his beck and call, and if certain circumstances are met like there's a lunar or solar eclipse overhead, things can happen. Bad things. This form is also why he's so stoic at times because he has to constantly keep his emotions in check or else the collective negative emotions from millions of Shadows could overwhelm him and even change his personality permanently.
3) Alex Bourgeois. 3rd captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of the Department of Diplomacy.
Alex is a tall white American boy with sandy blond hair and horned rimmed glasses. He doesn't really like fighting and avoids it when he can, but won't back down from a fight if a fight is inevitable.
The motto of Squad 3 is; Peace. And if peace through diplomacy fails, then make diplomacy through superior firepower. They value tactics over brute force. Similar to the Sealth Force's motto; in and out, quick and quiet, no muss no fuss. Only they don't like the shady tactics of the Stealth Forces and will, instead, find a way to end the conflict with minimal bloodshed and as little collateral damage as should be necessary.
Alex met Michael in the 5th grade and was his best friend, and was distraught when he found out that Michael ran away and was missing for over 6 months. It didn't help that whatever BS that Kisuke put over the school went completely over Alex's head, which was a sure-fire sign that Alex was special and would be soon showing powers. In fact, it was his close proximity to Michael in the 8th grade that awakened his soul-reaper powers. After awakening the powers in Michael's closest friends, though however unintentional it was, is irrelevant. He, Michael, Brandon, and one other (Number 4) made a cross-country trip to hone their powers and unintentionally saved the President of the United States, he became Michael's very first lieutenant.
Shikai Mizu Akuma (Water Demon): Alex's Zanpakuto becomes long and gains several curves. It has the power to manipulate the water in the air, and in times of desperation, the water in the enemy's blood. It can change the water's form into superheated steam, or sub-zero ice. If Alex concentrates hard enough, the coldness can reach nearly absolute zero, a feat only comparable to the likes of Toshiro Hitsugaya or Rukia Kuchiki.
The strongest attack is split into two. One is Aisu Fisshu (Ice Fish) he can cause all the water in the air to solidify into sub-zero ice in an instant, and depending on the enemy's reiatsu, can freeze the cells through the body causing instant death.
The second is Jōki Seishin (Steam Spirit) causes all the water in the air to instantly boil, even in the human or enemy's body. Again, can cause instant death.
Bankai (Form One) Mizu no Seishin Gesshoku (Water Spirit, Lunar Eclipse): This Bankai has two different forms and several different techniques in each arsenal.
The Bankai itself forms from the water inside the blade, and builds up with the water in the surrounding area, and can grow up to 70 feet tall. (Visually it looks like the form Aang took in Avatar the Last Airbender when he merged with the ocean spirit.) This means he can control it and use it to intimidate or smash stuff depending on his mood or what the situation calls for. Additionally, he can use Freeze to call down pillars of pure sub-zero moisture from the atmosphere to chill enemies to the bone and shatter them to icy dust with the water avatar takes a swing. And if intimidation tactics don't work, he can boil the avatar into steam and use the technique Misuto (Mist) and can cause hallucinations and even attack with high-pressure water. In this form, he can use his ultimate set of attacks.
The strongest attacks are a set of realms that almost completely rely on the phases of the moon. In a pinch, he can place a powerful genjutsu (Illusion) on the field, that can trick even his own Bankai.
The first is Mist of Deception. This causes the aforementioned hallucinations that can be so powerful they can harm the enemy. But this field spell can affect Alex too.
The second is Ocean of Despair. This causes a tidal wave of water to come crashing down on the enemy and Alex. Though this water is only a few meters high, you are transported to the middle of the ocean leagues underwater with no hope of swimming to the surface before you drown. Similar to Shunsui Kyoraku's Bankai, only instead of drowning once your reiatsu is completely depleted, this one makes you feel a deep sense of depression and fear. You see hallucinations that can hurt you, but the point of this Ocean is to make you feel fear and anxiety so potent and real, that you can literally die from being too scared.
This form is where the phases of the moon come in. In a new moon phase, there is nothing but pitch blackness where Alex can strike you down and you would be dead. In a waxing crescent moon phase, he can turn himself into a hallucination of someone the enemy loved and use it to probe his mind for any weakness. Waxing half-moon Alex can manifest memories of the enemy's most bright memory, and darkest memory respectively and turn their world upside down from an emotional perspective. Full moon he can harness moonlight as a weapon and strike down any enemy. The waning half-moon can bring out past representations of the enemy and can be used to torture the victim. And waning crescent moon brings out the nightmares and deepest darkest secrets of the victim.
There are also other variants like a fingernail moon, fingernail blood moon, harvest moon, lunar eclipses, and solar eclipses. A solar eclipse can cause four pillars of light to strike down and basically nuke the enemy and a blood moon can cause the blood in the enemy's veins to decay, causing a massive incurable infection.
Bankai (Final form) Tsuki no Kami (Moon god): If intimidation and deceptive tactics don't work, then brute force will. Alex releases the full form and the might of his Bankai, a sudenim or maybe even the real name. And this one needs no illusion for moon phases. His sword floats up and becomes a glowing orb that quickly expands into a giant satellite in the upper atmosphere. And from it a 10 winged seraphim with 4 arms, each carrying a different object. A scepter, a glass ball, a sickle, and a short sword.
The strongest attack is God's Judgement. Self-explanatory. The Moon god strikes down the enemy with extreme prejudice annihilating all.
4) Jordan Francis. 4th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and top doctor of the Medical Unit. Their motto is; Live to fight another day. They would abstain and run from a fight if it's hopeless and lick their wounds to be a better use for a later.
Jordan is an African American boy, and Brandon's best friend, and they've known each other since kindergarten. When Michael met him back in middle school Jordan had short curly hair, bad acne, and was super chubby.
At his height, Jordan dropped the weight, shaved his hair to be crew cut and shot up a foot and a half, and rests at 6 foot 2 inches.
His parents are doctors so he grew up knowing medical terminology and had a basic knowledge of medicine. When he was 4 he could make sutures to the skill of his father who is one of the top doctors in the country.
Shikai Hades: His sword becomes an obsidian bident, almost like a trident but has 2 pokers instead of 3.
It has a strong ability, with two different outcomes.
Shadow Steal is the first, in which Jordan causes his own Shadow to extend through Hades and steal the subject's own Shadow, healing him. Or if he wants, he can use Shadow Kill, which he uses his own Shadow to steal the subject's shadow, but instead killing them in the process.
Bankai Aidonious: He slams the point of the bident into the ground causing a fissure to from the point of impact. From the fissure, black smoke shoots up, and when it clears an army of charred, decaying skeletons from different eras rise up from the Underworld and is at Jordan's beck and call. An onyx black chariot driven by shadowy horses with blood-red eyes rises up as well and Jordan can ride it into battle with his army. This Bankai can be used for medical purposes as well since he can summon dead doctors, healers, mages, and the like to heal massive amounts of people.
This marks the end of the "Big Four" or the core group of the 13 Court Guard Squads. These four are the founders and are more close to each other than the other captains on this list. While the Gotei 13 are an actual court where things are debated and voted upon and need a majority vote in order to get something passed, these four have the most say in things with any and all final decisions falling to the Head Captain. The other 12 are a cabinet of sorts, they advise him on the best course of action and can veto any decision he makes, again, with a majority vote. Likewise, the Head Captain can veto any vote the others make as well, and can also execute an "Executive Order" where he can order a motion to pass, however, this particular power has its limits. He can't declare an all-out war, he can't order someone to take their own life, or order someone else to take their life, there has to be a just cause and a trial for criminals. And Executive Orders are limited to a handful a year. Once he runs out of a set number of executive orders in one year, he's out and has to wait for a full year to pass before he can use any again.
The rest of the captains came in later after much recruiting and deliberation. It wasn't until 4 years after the Soul Society in the World of the Living's inception that a full-court was established. Finding and training captain level soul reapers is hard and time-consuming. Not to mention that getting the numbers together to make a full Squad takes time.
Now. On to the rest of the captains. Lieutenants will have a list of their own after the captains are finished.
5) Conner Hastings. 5th captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of the Illusionists.
This squad's job is to maintain images of peace in stressful times, kinda like front men, or propaganda producers. To get into this squad, you have to have a certain level of high mastery of kido (Spirit powers) or magic. Particularly in illusions. Their motto is; Take your time and think. Rome wasn't built in a day. Meaning that even if you are in a fight or any type of situation, you should always slow down and think of a way to either get out or to win.
Conner is a blond Englishman and was 15 when he first joined up with the 13 Court Guard Squads. He passed the trials with flying colors and quickly rose to the ranks in Alex's Squad before a captain was selected for squad 5. At this point squads, 10 and 13 have been formed but the first captain of Squad 5 was selected out of the Stealth Force to be captain when he showed the skill and mastery over his Bankai.
When this captain was selected he chose a number of highly skilled reapers from each squad to be his lieutenant, and Conner was ultimately selected when he showed how versatile his skills actually were, and he became lieutenant to the newly-formed Squad 5.
Shortly thereafter, this captain turned out to be a traitor and started a bloody civil war within Soul Society, believing that they were giving this power to rule mankind, not protect it. Conner refused to join him, believing that Michael's dream of a better future for both mankind, and the spirit world. Crushed at his captain's betrayal, he lead the charge in most battles around the world, trying to hunt down his former friend, mentor, and father figure and finally found and faced him down near the Potomac in D.C. and releases his Bankai for the first time ever in a move of desperation, resulting in a confrontation that ended up killing the former captain.
Conner became Captain once the war was completed and his squad was stronger than ever with sound leadership.
Shikai Alexander: The Shikai turns the metal of his blade into a mirror, where it reflects any light casting powerful illusions. He can use this effect to trick an enemy into revealing information or dropping their guard to better allow for mind probing magic to gather information.
Has two strongest attacks, one is Mirror Image, where an illusion of one's child friend or another ally appears causing one to drop their guard completely and be left open to a fatal blow.
The second is Light Fade, where he can absorb all light in the area and fire it in a devastating blow. Sort of like a cero that high-level hallows can use.
Bankai (Form one) Castle Alexander: This Bankai forms a giant 40 story high medieval castle that is a quarter-mile wide, with battlements and towers and a drawbridge. Once inside you have to make your way through illusions of past mistakes, regrets, hopes, dreams, nightmares, and fears. If you take a wrong turn into a dead-end, you can be killed. If you find yourself looping around, you won't be able to find your way and can starve to death. Once you make it to the throne room, assuming you survive long enough, you face Alex himself, dressed in a lion's cape and red crown. As you battle shadowy figures appear in the throne room to witness your battle. If you are weak-minded or make the mistake of paying attention to them, the shadowy figures become more solid and appear as your friends, fallen comrades, past lovers, anyone and everyone you have ever known is there and they are there to judge you, and they will judge you harshly.
The strongest attack is Eidolons Wrath. During Conner's fight with his former captain, the traitor became so distracted and so unhinged that Conner was able to wound him greatly and even kick him off of a terrace overlooking the front of the castle. The traitor was able to stabilize himself in the air and floated in mid-air to yell insults at Conner, cementing the fact that Conner had to kill his former captain. From that terrace, with the shadowy illusions of the captain's past loved ones giving their final judgment, Conner activated Eidolons Wrath. This causes the castle to fully wake up, the castle is a living organism, capable of reading minds, which is how it was able to cause so many illusions of personal loved ones to appear. Once fully awake, the castle sprouts giant ethereal wings, blocking out the sky entirely, from these wings uncountable bolts of light fire off and home in on the intended target, destroying them to the very last atom. (If you don't get the reference to the entire Castle Alexander, then you, my friend, need to play more video games… Final Fantasy IX… that's the one you need to play)
Bankai (Final Form) King Arthur: The entire castle collapses around Conner and once the castle becomes reishi and dissolves, leaving behind Conner dressed as King Arthur. The sword is a gold-hilted Excalibur, the armor is seamless, the cape can protect the wearer from any sort of elemental damage, the crown grants heightened perception.
The strongest attack is Excalibur. With one swing, Conner can bring down an entire army in a wave of holy light. 'Nuff said.
6) Richard Vance. 6th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of Special Investigations.
This squad's motto is; Find a new way forward, see the problem from a different angle. And execute it in a thorough manner. This squad's job is to investigate certain problems that are too big for any one person to handle, such as a missing person, or a murder. You won't have them spying on your lover or start a case of the missing gym socks, no, these guys are practically bloodhounds and highly trained CSI operatives. Once tasked with a problem, they will not rest before solving their case. Most squad members possess a keen intellect and high perception, able to see pieces of a puzzle that most people will overlook.
Richard hails from Venice, Italy, and is a distant relative to Brandon Cook, the 2nd Captain. Richard is a moderately tall white male, with neat brown hair, and the same pale complexion as Brandon's with hazel-colored eyes. Richard joined up at the height of the civil war and as a consequence, his training was rushed and he barely got his Shikai before his class was moved to Soul Society's main compound. Richard fought in the closing chapters of the war, and, though his skills lacking, he more than made up for with his problem-solving skills, tactical retreats, and underhanded tactics led to many victories that cemented the war's end. This landed him a spot in the Stealth Force where he was able to finish his training and better master his Shikai.
On a chance encounter in a joint mission with 2nd and 5th Squad, he was able to impress Captain Conner Hastings, who requested him for his empty lieutenant's position. Richard greatly accepted. Shortly after, he was able to unlock his Bankai and was made into a captain on a recommendation. They needed leadership badly at this point, but they weren't about to fuck it up like they did last time, so they're waiting for the cream of the crop to show up.
Shikai: Bocciolo di Rosa (Rosebud) . The blade disappears and is instead replaced by a lavender rose, the handle becoming a thorned vine that can be used as a whip. Using different spell incantations, he can cause certain fragrances to permeate from the rose, causing a number of effects.
The strongest attack is Smell the Roses. He can cause a fragrance that, once inhaled, causes complete paralysis. The lungs stop moving as a result and the subject suffocates to death if Richard doesn't grant them a quick death that is. Unfortunately, people with higher reiatsu can resist the effects, making these underhanded tactics next to useless.
Bankai Giardino Zen (Zen Garden): The vine worms its way into the ground, causing it to take root, and in a matter of seconds a beautiful garden, similar to Edin, sprouts up out of the ground. The flowers and fruit that bloom can cause hallucinations, poisoning, dysentery, food poisoning, blindness, and anaphylaxis.
There is no special move. Richard can blend into the garden and taunt the victim, he can strike from anywhere, cause any plant to bloom, change the fragrance to better disable the enemy, and can take his time killing.
7) Huey Freeman, 7th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of Containment. This squad's motto is, "A great offense is a good defense."
This squad is responsible for finding and containing dangerous hollows, detaining rogue soul reapers, and evacuation and setting up perimeters for civilians when dangerous situations break out. They are also responsible for taking out dangerous hits and as a result, are one of the squads who most frequently undertake more dangerous missions in the world. The prison is also located in the barracks of Squad 7.
Yes, this is actually Huey Freeman from the Boondocks. I told you this would span several fandoms, did I not? Huey joined a little after the civil war when Grace Adams (More on her later) found him in Woodcrest, Illinois on an assignment given to her as a punishment. She would later serve as his lieutenant, a position that she first found insulting, but after seeing this through Michaels's perspective and sharing a fox hole with Huey, she learned to accept it and even became one of the most formidable and well-accomplished lieutenants in the entire soul society.
Huey joined up a few months after the civil war when Grace rescued him from a group of attacking hollows while in her spirit form, and he could see EVERYTHING. This prompted her to recruit him, which he initially refused. When she pointed out that since he could see them, he has high spiritual energy which attracted the hollows in the first place. After some convincing, he reluctantly joined up.
Once recruited he quickly moved up in his class as he was already a master at hand-to-hand combat, swordsmen ship (Particularly Kenjutsu, the art of ancient Japanese sword fighting) is extremely smart and fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese. But if you've seen the show, you would know all of this. After 3 months of training, he passed his classes with flying colors, but one hang up, he couldn't unlock his zanpakuto's name. But after a meeting with Michael, he was able to wave that and joined squad 10 as a foot soldier. After a year and a half in this position, he unlocked his Shikai after a group skirmish, and a few months after that was made a seated officer at 8th seat, later 6th seat when the 7th retired and the 6th died in battle.
Later a captain named Red helped him unlock his Bankai. Huey, at nearly 12 years old, is the youngest captain to be promoted to the position. At least by living world standards.
When Huey gets to be a captain he's standing at around 5"5, short for his age, but growing quickly, and still sporting that afro.
Shikai, Don Kama Ganima (to catch prey) is a rough translation from Hausa, one of the languages spoken in Nigeria. His sword turns into what essentially looks like a key blade. Its handguard extends around, the guard at the base of the hilt and blade disappears and the blade itself expands to a 5 foot long, 6-inch wide lump of metal that has a trapezoid like shape rounded up top, and several grooves cut into the blade making it look like a giant car key. From these grooves, he can spread special spider silk that can entrap, snare to catch his enemies, or prey, off guard.
He can shoot off magic and kido to destroy anyone or anything caught in the web. He can also drip special homemade poison in case magic and destruction don't work.
Bankai Anansi: Anansi, the trickster. He is an African spider god who is very well known in folk tales as an underdog hero who rises up through tricks and cunningness instead of brute strength. His tales were especially popular among the slave people, who Huey is descended from. So he takes inspiration and pride that he's related to them and that he can be the embodiment of their hero.
In this form, Huey gains an ethereal gold color, gains an extra set of arms. In this form, he can do pretty much anything a god can do and is extremely cunning if he wasn't already. Which, we all know he is.
The most powerful move, he doesn't have one. He CAN grow over 20 feet tall and can blast people to dust, but that's not what makes him powerful. What makes him powerful, is the fact that he can rewrite reality. Becoming the sole owner of every and all stories, including the individual stories of people. This makes him more than op, but it doesn't work well on the Head Captain. Michael has more than just his own fate tied to his being.
8) Zeeva Davíd, 8th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of Demolitions. This squad's motto is; Tactical Nuke!
Zeeva is a 5"10 Israeli female, with tan skin, long brown hair, usually tied in either a bun or a ponytail. She is 23 years old at the time of her ascending to the Captain position, making her the second oldest person to join Michael's ranks.
When Zeeva and Michael met she was having a pregnancy scare and went to her local clinic to get checked out. A baby in her line of work would bring a swift end to her carrier of being an anti-terrorist operative with Mossad. On her way to the clinic, a giant Shadow appeared in town, and Michael, who was on special assignment from the American President at the time, engaged and defeated it. No normal people could see what took place, so when he noticed a young woman about 19 looking in see at the battle that took place, he approached her and made her an offer. After a few days to think about it, she joined the Soul Society in the World of the living and after years of intense training, unlocked her Bankai and took the captain's position.
Shikai: Djinn, her sword, which was a short sword native to the area during the crusades, transforms into a 5-foot long scimitar, made completely out of Damascus Steel. Apart from being wickedly sharp and highly durable, she can also "wish" the blade and even her immediate area to have an effect, element change, and can even negate or counter her opponent's power completely.
Bankai: Djinn, the wish maker. Her sword disappears and in its place is a stereotypical lamp. When rubbed a Djinn, not Genie, mind you, Djinn. A spirit, or demon, of the desert, it stands next to her, summoned from the lamp to grant Zeeva 3 wishes. Each wish takes up a 3rd of her spirit energy and takes 3 days for each 3rd to recover. It is literally an "Ace in the hole".
Zeeva's Bankai has one special power aside from reality-shattering wishes. If she so chooses she can use all of her wishes to merge with her Djinn so they can become one. Becoming a demigod with unimaginable power she and the Djinn become more than they once were for a short time, and can completely annihilate any single enemy, or army. She is literally a living breathing nuclear warhead. Hence the Squad motto. She's scary when she wants to be.
9) Sora Hamada, 9th captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of Weapons Development. The squad motto is; every weapon is a tool, use them wisely.
Sora is the daughter of Sôské Hamada, and the heir to the Hamada Ninja Clan, one of the top yakuza crime families in Japan. This family has ties to other crime lords overseas in the U.K., U.S. Germany, and even terrorist cells in the middle east and a strange fascination with the occult.
At the age of 14, Sora was undergoing an initiation ritual to become an official member of the Clan, and rightful heir, or, princess of her family. While on a mission for the final stages of said ritual ran into Michael's Soul Reapers and a pack of hallows. In a bid for survival, she released hidden spirit powers and killed a high-level hallow. When the reapers tried to apprehend her, she, once again she unleashed some power and though she didn't kill any reapers she did injure a few. That's when the Captain of Squad 10 Jyessenia "Red" stepped in and took her down.
Once at Soul Society, Sora had a tough time calming down, but, once she did Michael had a chat with her and convinced her to undergo training to control her powers. Eventually, despite Michael getting constant threats of violence and death if he doesn't return her to the Clan, she decides to become a soul reaper. And eventually a Captain.
Shikai, Ashuramaru. Her blade, which is a stereotypical katana, turns jet black and can burn the air with black flames. The strongest attack is Kuroi Sōgi (Black Funeral) she can cause the flames to snake along the ground and shoot up encasing the victim in a sphere of swirling black fire, incinerating them to ash.
Bankai: Karitori o osoreru (Fear the Reaper) a giant cloaked person who looks veigly human dressed in a white kimono with a black sash tied around its waist, pale dead white hair, and blue-purplish complexion of a dead person, standing over 9 feet tall appears behind her. This is the Shinigami. The grim reaper. Seniõr death itself.
As you fight under the Reaper's gaze you find yourself slowing down, your movements become sluggish, your breathing heavy, your vision blurring. You are dying. And as you are dying, and dying slowly. You wouldn't notice until it's too late, and once you do, Sora hits you with the killing blow.
If Sora or the Reaper feel that death by draining your life force is too slow, the Reaper can move around in circular motions around the area of combat. Almost like a clock. If it moves in a clockwise motion, you see your future, counterclockwise, your past. If the Reaper is moving fast enough, the past and future become real and you are assaulted by visions of things you do and will come to regret.
The strongest attack is Jikkō (Executioner) the reaper vanishes in black flame and countless weapons of all shapes and sizes appear around you and attack and slice you from all directions. If you survive that a guillotine appears and you are forced to bow your head in the stockade and the Reaper pulls the lever. Just before you are beheaded you are compelled to look up and you see the Reaper takes shape of someone you either love, hate, admire, fear… and then you die.
10) Jyessenia "Red" Valentine, 10th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and head of the Special Forces. This squad has no motto.
Jyessenia' or Red as she likes to be called' stands at about 5"8, long red hair, that looks flaming orange in a certain light, forest green eyes, and a complexion as pale as freshly fallen snow. She met Michael in her freshman year of high school, before the events of Gravity Falls, and had a knack for showing up in unexpected places. She could see through the veil from a young age and saw Michael on multiple occasions in reaper form killing hollows and shadows around the school.
One day she somehow interrupted Michael killing a pack of hallows and got in the way. Michael got injured but finished the fight with a lacerated left arm. As he was healing himself he offered to train Red with her spiritual powers. He also taught her the bass guitar during their downtime. She became a captain during the events in my Gravity Falls Story; Whatever happens, happens.
Shikai, Muerte Vaporizada (Vaporized Death) her sword grows into a double-edged longsword with the guard turned into a skull. The blade itself turns a midnight purple color and can turn to smoke. Whatever the smoke touches it instantly starts to decay. Metal tarnishes, flesh rots, walls, brick, cement, all materials break down to their base element and turn to dust. The strongest attack is Espejo Humeante (Smoking Mirror) the area around you blacks out and you face your inner self as you die.
Bankai, Señora Muerte (Lady Death) a purple cloud explodes out of her zanpaktou and condenses around Red. When it clears she is wearing a fuzzy purple cloak, and an obsidian tiara with a large ruby adorning the headpiece, and pebble-sized sapphires adorned in a star-like pattern around the ruby. Purple mascara and red face paint splashed across her nose and cheekbones. No pants, or leggings, her legs are left bare, as well as her feet, nails perfectly pedicured and painted purple. She is as seductive as she is deadly
Having no sword, she attacks with lightning-quick movements, she has no weapons as her sword became her Bankai that formed her to be the incarnation of death itself. She doesn't need to touch the ground as she can float and even fly. She can send out waves of purple smoke that decays and rots whatever it touches. If she can touch you directly, she can cause instant cell death to whatever body part or extremity she touches. The longer she has a grip on you, the faster the necrosis can spread. If she touches your brain or your heart, it's basically a death sentence. If you have high enough spirit energy, you can resist the necrosis, or even negate it all together. That's when she uses her Bankai to its fullest potential.
Casa de la Señora Muerte (Lady Death's House) shedding her cloak and tiara, her strongest armor that her Bankai gives her, a purple cloud explodes around her and forms into an obsidian manor house. The doors open and when you enter you encounter Red, her luscious legs as bear for the world to see. But don't, she's wearing underwear… and her shirt is low enough to cover the important bits. Anyway. You fight, she has her sealed sword again, and she can still send out tendrils of decaying purple smoke. But that's not what is dangerous. As you fight your strength is sapped, you can't keep fighting. And even if you win, you can never leave. You are in Lady Death's house. You now belong to her.
However, if Red so chooses to use her ultimate move, you will die. Not only that. You will be erased. Mind, body, and soul. You will cease to exist.
El rostro de la Muerta (The face of Death) Jyessenia has decided that you must die. She goes into overdrive mode and attacks you with renewed vigor, as she slashes at you, the floor breaks up, the dimensions of the house become warped and you find that you are falling in several different directions at once. Red hits you from behind, the side, above, or maybe from below? And then she's above you, falling with you while seemingly standing on solid ground. Only it's not Red. She looks like Captain Jyessenia, but something is off. Maybe it's her posture, the way she stands, the blank, almost dead look in her eyes? The fact that her skin is pale, almost blue, and decaying. Whatever it is, she is not Red. Then, her form explodes and in its place is a giant skull with long flowing black hair, glowing red eyes, and it's screaming at you. As it screams, you start to fade away starting from the toes. As you do, you can choose to either make peace with the choices in your life or to pray for mercy in the next life. You won't be getting one, but that's all you have time to do. Once that is done, Lady Death closes her eyes, and the manor evaporates, leaving Red to seal her Bankai back up. She is still pantsless. Those are gone. Death has a sense of humor at least.
11) Riley Anderson, 11th captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads and Head of the Infantry Unit. Squad motto; we are the first and only line of defense.
Riley is an African American male who was raised on the Okinawa army base. He knows Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and English fluently. His parents are both officers in the army who decided to settle down and have a kid. Riley is the result.
Steadfast and loyal, Riley stands at 6"4, was 20 when he joined the Soul Society and was 22 when he was made captain. He is the rock and the hard place in any analogy said, and his tactical mind makes him an invaluable asset to Michael and the Soul Society as a whole.
Shikai, Hakai no Kaze (wind of destruction) his sword, which was a single straight-edged katana, is enveloped in the wind coming from all four directions. The blade disappears, the handle becomes circular, and bone white, as it seems to be made out of bone. Channeling the wind through the hilt. In other words, it's a wind sword.
The "blade" itself looks bluish in color, although to the untrained eye it looks like nothing is there. The wind is moving back and forth at such high speeds it doesn't sound like the regular wind but more like a bunch of bees vibrating their wings. Blocking against that sword is ill-advised because it can cut through almost any substance with its "vibrations".
Its most powerful move in this state is Kamikaze (Divine Wind). With one slash he can create a gale up to 500 miles per hour and can absolutely decimate anyone or anything in front of him. He can control the size of the gale to destroy a single person or even a wide area in front of him.
Bankai, Kazenokami (The god of wind) A giant tornado explodes around Riley, once it lifts he is covered in a suit like a mech, made out of white bone-like material. He stands about 10 feet tall, the wind coming out of a slot in his back forming that looks like a flowing cape. From this "cape" he can make projectiles that are like heat-seeking missiles, form swords, spears, or any other weapon he can think of.
His ultimate move is "beast mode" the English or Japanese can work either which way here, the result is the same. He can form up to 4 people or creatures that fell by his sword, completely made up of wind, they are completely autonomous and follow orders to a T. They can also explode on impact, and Riley can make and replace as many as he needs to in order to finish the fight.
12) Rajh Gupta, 12th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads and head of the Research and Development Department. This squad's motto is; seek knowledge to understand, not to be the best, but to be better as humans.
Rajh is the last person to become captain, thus completing the entire Soul Societies hierarchy and command structure.
Rajh is a native Indian man, about 19 when he joined up and was also the first person to become captain in the least amount of time, only taking 6 months to unlock his Bankai, and 3 more months to master it to a degree that let Michael being comfortable with giving him the position of captain with enough mastery over his powers.
Rajh is smart. Very smart. When he was 10, he had graduated high school, and by the time he was 12, had written 3 theses' in 3 different doctorate fields, mechanical engineering, biochemistry, and theoretical physics. At 13, he got his M.D. and the following years accumulated more and more doctorates in various different fields.
He met a soul reaper who was on a routine patrol in his region in India and even talked to the said reaper. Which should be impossible for normal humans. This caused the reaper to recommend recruitment, which Rajh accepted on the spot.
His older sister was against it, but she was already underway to join the Soul Society anyway, and later became his first lieutenant, but later died during the 1000 year blood war.
Shikai: Nū samajhaṇa la'ī (Punjabi for 'to understand') Rajh zanpakto, which is a talwar, gets activated when it tastes the blood of its opponent. The blade glows blue and when it fades, dotted lines crisscross all over the blade, dividing it into sections. These sections are labeled as body parts in Punjabi, Rajh's native language. If you strike at Rajh, and he blocks, you risk striking yourself. He can also flick at the blade, cracking it, or even shattering off whole pieces, wounding you from the inside out.
When he seals his sword, it fixes itself, as if he cast "reparo" on it.
Bankai, Kamadeva (the Hindu god of human love)
So, I obviously could have had his Bankai be Vishnu, the super awesome Hindu god of everything kick ass and good in the universe, but, that would be way too obvious. And would make Rajh waaaaaay too op. To give you an example, when Vishnu was a toddler, he was eating dirt, because what else is a baby to do but put things in their mouth that they are not supposed to? And when his very human mother came to check on what he was eating, what did she see other than mud and spit and a hand full of baby teeth? She saw the entirety of the friggin universe! So, yeah. Vishnu is too op for my already op captains.
Kamadeva is released as of this blue gas-like energy that flows from the sword and forms at a vaguely human shape behind Rajh. This is you. And you love yourself, right? And not only is this gaseous shape that looks like a human is you but every single human being on the planet. The very concept of humanity is this weird image of yourself. And you see that you are fighting yourself. So what is the point in fighting yourself? These are the questions that you ask yourself when facing Kamadeva. What is the point in fighting me, when fighting me is fighting all of you? If Kamadeva is fighting against a soul reaper with Bankai, it becomes that soul reaper and the Bankai simultaneously.
But meta-questions aside, as you are fighting Kamadeva and asking yourself those questions, the god of love knows you just by looking at you. Your strengths, weaknesses, fears, and secrets. All of you are all of him. And since Kamadeva is every human, Kamadeva is Rajh too. It's like that quote, tho art god, for I am god. It's meta.
I would like to take this time to thank Overly Sarcastic Productions. Their videos summarise a lot of what I know about mythology and classic literature, such as Stranger in a Strange Land, written by Robert A. Heinlein. It's where I got the quote above. The book is weird and I highly recommend either going to read it, or heading over to youtube to watch the summary that she did. The drawings are hilarious. Or do both, and you come up with your own paper.
Anyway, onto the final Captain.
13) Cheyanne Rose, the 13th Captain of the 13 Court Guard Squads, and Head of the Magic Corps. Squad motto; Work to find a way around the problem, not through it.
Michael met Cheyanne at the beginning of high school, and even dated briefly, although, had to call it quits when he discovered that she had spiritual powers. It would be unprofessional for a student to date a teacher, no matter the age or learning setting.
When they met, Cheyanne was 13 years old, overweight, and extremely shy. Her chestnut brown hair was almost always tied in a short ponytail, electric blue eyes, horned rimmed glasses, a splash of freckles across her cheeks that stood out on her pale complexion. She was sweet, and way more into nerdy and geeky stuff than Michael was, or, is. She was a regular otaku.
After a year of training, she showed an aptitude for magic and kidô, magic that comes from spiritual energy, and even dropped a few pounds when the training became more physical. By the time it came to Bankai training she could give Michael a run for his money in terms of swordplay and power. A year and a half after meeting starting training, she unlocked her Bankai. At her strongest, in her early 20's, she drops the weight and becomes drop-dead gorgeous to anyone who looks at her. Michael is a bit of a chubby chaser but sees beauty in all types of people. Men and nonbinary people too.
Shikai: Shiva. No, not the Hindu god of destruction Shiva, the final fantasy Shiva. Which means you guessed it, lots and lots of ice.
Her zanpakto, which is a short sword about 3 feet long, turns into a large claymore-like weapon completely made out of blue-whitish ice, a large crossguard, and a face of a sleeping woman on the pommel.
As she wields this weapon, her body temperature starts to drop, and if it goes on long enough, her heart can stop and her blood will start to freeze, but she doesn't die. This is in preparation for her to replace her Bankai, but, more on that later. With Shiva she can freeze the air around her, can create mini blizzards and whiteouts, she can also shoot waves of ice and sleet to freeze her opponents in place.
The strongest move in this mode is "heaven's strike" she can cause a massive block of ice, or several blocks, to form over the head of her opponent, or opponents. Once they hit either you or the ground, they explode and flash freeze whatever the explosion touches.
Bankai: Glacia. The sword starts to grow and then splits in half, and then fours and attaches to her arms and legs, then ice forms armor all over her body. Her captain's cloak disappears, as well as her clothes, and ice armor is formed instead. It's Final Fantasy, you get the picture. Her skin turns blue, her hair turns a white frosty color and her eyes change color to be an even more pale and translucent blue color.
Her ultimate move is "diamond dust" and if you have seen or played any final fantasy game, you would know that it completely decimates an opponent by freezing them down to the bone and then shattering them into icy dust.
