A/N: This is my first fanfiction, please let me know if I do anything wrong or get anything wrong! I will try to pace this where one chapter covers anywhere from 1-3 episodes of the Anime, so there may be some fluctuating word counts or chapter focuses if I do that.

The day Izuku received his quirk was the best day of his life. Everyone received their quirks when they were four, and Izuku was no exception. However, his manifestation happened a bit later than most. About a few days before Kachaan decided he wasn't going to get a quirk, Izuku saw hope in the darkest of places. When he was sleeping, he had a dream.
"Whoa, who are you?" Izuku asked the monster inhabiting his dreamscape. It was a majestic creature that looked as if it was painted by an artist. Colored in a vibrant shade of blacks and greys, it stood a good few meters above the small child, smiling kindly at him. The smile was a toothy one, with sharp teeth and a poisonous smile, but it looked like an older brother looking at his younger, the way a father looked at a son. Bending down, the mass of darkness manifested itself into a single form. It had well pronounced muscles, but was not overly so, as if it was a cross between Endeavor and All Might. There was a white tattoo in the middle of the chest, reminiscent of a spider that Izuku once saw. Slightly lighter grey veins ran along intricate paths crisscrossing and flowing around each shape, contorting to maximize bodily ability. The final product was a seven foot tall humanoid, made entirely of what looked like black spiderwebs, and a face that looked like it belonged to a villain somewhere.
"Well, young man, I am you," the mass said. Its voice came out as comforting, without a hitch, despite the massive exterior that served to intimidate nearly everyone. It was comforting, and only enhanced by the snake-like tongue that darted side to side as it spoke, the only colored part of the beast. "This society would call me a quirk, and so can you if you so wish. However, I am simply an extent of you. I am the manifestation of your thoughts, your wants, your abilities. You are the brains, I am the brawn. You are the human, I am the symbiote. Together, we are Venom." With his final parting words said, the mindscape faded, replaced by the smiling face of Inko Midoriya, who was wholly unprepared for her son jumping on her and crying out in happiness.
"Mom, mom, I got a quirk! I got a quirk! I'm gonna be a hero now!" Izuku proclaimed, with his mother laughing and moving along. Both lost in their childish euphoria, they were brought back to the world when a tea kettle started whistling on the stove. Both Midoriyas rushing to get ready for the day, Izuku was prepared for school in record time. Stepping out the door, he rushed to show off what he had learned with his friends.
"Hey Kachaan, Kachaan, I got quirk," Katsuki Bakugou, referred to as Kachaan by his childhood friend Izuku Midoriya, heard before he was knocked over by said child, a mass of green hair obscuring his vision.
"Yeah! It's probably super cool! What is it?" Katsuki asked excitedly. He was hoping that his friend's quirk would be as cool as his own, as the two had been dreaming of being heroes forever. With Ground Zero as his hero name, he would surely be the best, especially with the strategic mind of Izuku to help. Yeah, he knew Izuku was smart. Despite the two being tied with near perfect scores in every single one of their classes, it was clear that Izuku had the more analytical mind, while Katsuki acted on it a lot more often. Their duality felt like that of All Might and his sidekick Sir Nighteye, who helped both of them do exceptionally well when they were heroes together.
"Ok so Venom, say hi," Izuku stated. Katsuki was confused. Who was Venom, and why did it sound like someone's name? Quirks with consciousness were uncommon, but not unheard of. As he was thinking, he felt someone tap his back. Turning around, ready to blast whoever did that for interrupting Izuku, he was faced with the most scary sight of his five year life. A detached head, albeit monstrous, looked back at him. Shaded black and grey, with white circles for eyes and shark teeth in the mouth, the head floated in the air, supported by black tendrils. Tracing the tendrils to the point of origin, Katsuki looked around, and finally saw the protrusion coming out of Izuku's back.
"Whoa, that's so cool! Why did you name it though?" Katsuki asked. He was a tad bit uncomfortable with the creepy visage that Venom brought about, but it couldn't be deterred. He was so excited, because both of their quirks looked extremely cool.
"Because, Bakugou," stated a voice. It sounded like snakes hissing, but it also felt comforting, as if it would take away all of the pain the young man felt. However, there was an underlying tone of danger that it brought about, causing his instincts to go haywire. "I am not an it. However, Izuku, I told you that I am not Venom. I am but the symbiote. We are Venom."
"Yeah, but it's easier to call you Venom," Izuku told the newly christened head. The three soon fell into a comfortable rhythm, the symbiote fitting in as if he had been there all throughout their lives. But, in order to be heroes, they needed to be better, so the boys settled on a training and studying schedule. When asked, Izuku said "Heroes also need to be smart in fights, or they might lose." However, the tranquility of the evening was soon to be removed. Little did the boys know what awaited them at school the next day.
"I bet he's going to be a villain."
A couple years had passed since everyone received their quirks, and development was starting to show on their ten year old bodies. Quirk adaptation, the process by which one's body adapts to suit the needs of their quirk, had taken effect on a lot of people. For example, Katsuki was blast proof, as shown when he tried to blast himself but it didn't affect him. Izuku had taken many of the appearance traits of Venom. He had grown much taller than all of his classmates, standing at about 155 cm tall. He had become much more muscular as well, replicating the tankish stature his quirk had in regular form. His eyes became wider, but his pupils became smaller, letting more room for the white to bleed in. He had also grown some decently sharp teeth, as a replication of the facial features his quirk possessed. He had a menacing gait, one that deterred a lot of the bullying he might have been subjected to had he not possesed it. However, it didn't stop him from hearing this line.
It was a whisper, but the entire class heard it. Especially the man in question, Izuku Midoriya. At once, Katsuki jumped to the defense of his friend, but was held back by Izuku.
"And pray tell, why that is?" Izuku asked. The kid stepped forward, Tsubasa if he remembered correctly. He had draconic wings from his back, but was otherwise extremely chubby. There was no threat that appeared from this boy, but Izuku had to strain to restrain Venom from jumping out and attacking the kid. The kid didn't say anything, he just stood there, composing his thoughts. After a minute, he spoke.
"First off, your quirk is inherently villainous. It has the posture and aura that someone threatening would have, not to mention the features. It had sharp teeth, something common in a lot of previous villains. Adding to that, there hasn't been a single hero with a conscious quirk ever, since the dawn of quirks. All the famous ones have been villains. Finally, you purposefully avoid us, something that villains do." With his speech finished, the crowd around started murmuring in agreement. (Un)luckily?, Izuku was prepared for something like this to happen, as society didn't often treat people with quirks like his fair. So, he launched his counterargument.
"That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Posture and aura make Endeavor who he is, but I don't see you calling him a villain. He uses intimidation tactics to make the villains submit, but that isn't something you hate him for. As a matter of fact, you admire him, as I've heard you say. Sharp teeth are present in Ryuku's dragon form, but you don't see yourself calling her a villain either. Next, you can't give me a single example of a villain with a conscious quirk. As a matter of fact, two of the original American quirked heroes, Spiderman and Hulk, had powers just like mine. Addressing your point about isolation, I don't do that. I approach people at lunch, I talk to a lot of others, and have one of the widest social circles in this school, if I do say so. The fault in your logic lies in you, which brings me to my next point: you're jealous of me. Look at your quirk. Wings. How many other people have wings? Behind fire and strength based quirks, it is the most common type. You just got so unlucky that you got these sad, wimpy wings, that don't even have anything to do with dragons but the shape! What right do you have to call these draconic wings, they're obviously not. Stuff your anger, little boy, and shut up." By the time Izuku had finished his monologue, the other kid was nearly in tears, Izuku having called out every single one of his insecurities. It was then that what he just did caught up to Izuku, as if he wasn't in control during it.
"Oh god no, I'm sorry, wait I," Izuku started, but he was heartbroken to see the boy flinch away from him, and start running. Looking around, he saw the crowd looking at him in fear, waiting for him to make a move. Tsubasa might have been right, he was a villain. Running away to an abandoned area, he curled in on himself, questioning what that was. He definitely didn't want to say it, but ended up doing so. That was when he thought of the other entity inside his head.
"Venom? You there?" he called out to nothing. His voice resonated in the alley, being heard by nobody except himself. About twenty seconds later, the telltale cool sensation he felt when his quirk manifested appeared, and a floating head wormed its way into his vision.
"Yes, I am here. Is there something you need?" the head asked, with a tone of indifference. However, Izuku could clearly tell that something was up. You learn to recognize things about the entity in your head after living with him for over five years. If anything, the voice was a mix of regretful, joyful, and predatorial. With this knowledge discerned, Izuku asked his question.
"What exactly did you just do?" he asked. There was a small hint of venom in his voice, given his general feelings towards the previous interaction. The head flinched slightly, and ducked down as well, but it rose up, meeting the young boy's gaze sharply.
"I did what was necessary. That idiot was a threat to you, so I simply enhanced your emotions and made you say what was on your mind. I cannot control what you say, only coax you to say it." As the head finished his explanation, Izuku started thinking. He was glad that it was the last period of the day, and that he had good enough grades that he could skip class. He would ask Kachaan to send him a copy of the notes, but for now, he had too much to think about. Walking home, he stood outside his apartment complex for a minute, before taking a deep breath and entering.
"Mom, I'm home," he called. No response. She must have been going somewhere to attend to one of her jobs or getting groceries. Izuku knew they were financially unstable, and felt upset that he was unable to do anything about it. Sighing to himself for the thousandth time that day, he opened his bag and took out his homework. It was short, just a math page and the beginnings of an essay. Seeing as he had nothing better to do, he quickly finished it.
After around 20 minutes, he had finished and there was still no sign of his mom anywhere. Figuring she might have been doing something else, since this often happened, Izuku went onto the news to see if any heroes were doing anything. Turning to his favorite channel, one that managed to get really close coverage of a lot of fights, he was met with a sight that made his blood freeze.
The setting for the shot was a regular old city block in the city's market area, but there was a lot of destruction in the area. A few places were on fire, and the shop that the camera was focused on had caved in on itself. Smoke was rising, and a lot of heroes were on the scene. Death Arms was helping evacuation efforts, and upcoming hero Kamui Woods was doing cleanup and damage control. Someone else was trying to put out the fires, and it seemed like whatever happened had already been resolved. He turned on the audio, trying to figure out what was going on. The interview with one of the witnesses was currently occurring.
"...but I could barely see anything. Then this woman, one of the customers, I think, pushed me out of the way. It was a good thing she did, as one of the rafters might have fallen on me had she not. But, after that I couldn't see anything." The witness finished. As she finished, the camera turned to a stretcher several hospital workers were carrying out of the rubble. Sitting on the stretcher, clad in a pink and green dress, was a very familiar face, covered in ash, soot, and slightly burned.
It was Inko Midoriya, his mom.
Quickly getting up, he sent a message to Katsuki asking to meet him outside his apartment, and that it was urgent. Luckily, the apartment was on the way to the scene, so by the time he arrived, Katsuki was already outside, looking nervous. As he saw Izuku, he smiled and walked toward the running boy.
"What's going on?" he asked. He still had no clue, given the slight smile apparent on his face. He was always smiling around Izuku, one of the few people that stood with him after he defended Izuku when someone called the green haired boy a villain a few months back. Both of the boys had become quite isolated, mostly due to the nature of their quirks, but they were fine.
"No time, my mom, let's go," Izuku panted, trying to catch his breath. All the color immediately drained from his best friend's face, and he gestured for Izuku to lead the way, both boys running at full speed to the site of the wreckage, about half a kilometer away.
By the time five minutes had passed, the ambulance was clear to leave, the patient in a stable condition for transport. One of the workers aboard the vehicle was about to hop in when he heard a cry to stop. Turning around, he saw two boys, about ten years old, running to the vehicle. As the spiky haired blond one tried to catch his breath, the green haired one looked straight into the ambulance with teary eyes.
"What do you kids want? We're on a schedule, we have to get this woman to the hospital," the man said. He had no patience for kids that just wanted to cause trouble, but he was stopped from entering the vehicle by a statement from the greenie.
"That's my mom you're taking to the hospital," was what he heard, but by that time, he was already gesturing for the kids to enter the ambulance. He now saw the resemblance the kid had to the woman, despite the obvious gender difference. When all three were seated, he called to the person in the front to start the path to the hospital. One of his coworkers turned around, and was shocked by the two extra people in the back of the vehicle, and shot a questioning glance towards him. Before he could respond, however, he was cut off by the green haired kid.
"She's my mom, Inko Midoriya. My name's Izuku Midoriya, and this is Katsuki Bakugou," the now identified Midoriya said, gesturing to the blond beside him, who was worriedly glancing at the woman between them. The ride to the hospital was spent mostly in silence, the boys trying to keep up strong facades. As they arrived at the hospital, Inko was rushed to the ICU, while Izuku and Katsuki were forced to wait in the lobby.
It was the longest half hour of both of their lives.
"I'm sorry but your mother appears to be in a coma," the doctor said. At this point, several things happened at once. Katsuki blew up his chair, and jumped up to yell at the doctor, but was stopped by several black tendrils from his friend Izuku. Meanwhile, Izuku looked downcast, having understood the unresponsive state his mother was in, the doctor confirming his fears. That didn't stop him from snapping the chair in half with his Venom enhanced strength in anger. Speaking of the symbiote, Izuku was trying his best to stop him from strangling the doctor to death with thoughts of how it wouldn't help. Once his two friends had calmed down, Izuku released his pressure on both of them. Nodding at the doctor to continue, he did so.
"Your mother was found with third degree burns on her legs and right arm, and her chest was crushed by a boulder, causing severe damage to her kidneys, lungs, and heart. Unfortunately, if she does recover, she won't wake up for the next year, at the very least." Izuku noticed that the doctor had said 'if', and he knew that he might be an orphan soon. Steeling himself, he nodded at the doctor, and pulled Katsuki outside with him. Having contacted his mother as soon as he left with Izuku, Mitsuki Bakugou was waiting outside for the boys. As they got in the backseat of the car, both Izuku and Katsuki stayed silent, the mood too somber to disrupt. When they pulled over at Katsuki's apartment complex, Izuku hopped out, and without a word, started running to his own house, finally letting tears fall.
Slamming the door shut behind him, he collapsed immediately, curling in on himself. He felt the anguish of Venom as well, who's tendrils were starting to go haywire, erecting a comforting cocoon of chaos around him. He felt himself enveloped by his friend, surrounding himself in a room full of the sticky blackness that made up his quirk. As one, the two mourned, letting their emotions out as best they could.
Izuku stayed in that position for the entire night.
When he woke up, still in that cocoon, he noticed his phone ringing. It must have been doing that for a while, considering the fact that it felt like an earthquake was happening when he was sleeping. Blinking to get rid of the sleep, he checked the screen.
52 missed calls from Kachaan
463 missed messages from Kachaan
39 voicemails from Kachaan
Izuku admired Katsuk's stubbornness, and so picked up the call. The first thing he heard was yelling.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" came the shouting from the other side of the line, causing great discomfort to both of the creatures in the house.
"Kachaan, please don't yell. I'm really sorry, I just woke up," came the timid response from the green haired boy.
"What the fuck are you apologizing for, you just lost your mother. If anything, I'm sorry. Come over to our place, and bring whatever you want. You're staying here until Auntie Inko gets better again. Mom already filled out the paperwork." The normally boisterous voice his friend had came out timid, showing the effect losing someone dear had on him. It was then that Izuku realized what his friend was saying, and stayed still, shocked. Then, he hung up the call, and grabbed everything valuable to him. All his hero merch, his laptop and charger, his clothes, and a bunch of his mom's valued things. Putting everything in a suitcase, he began the walk to what was to be his new home.
When he arrived at the house, he saw a worried Katsuki and a rapidly pacing Mitsuki. As soon as Katsuki looked at him, he ran off of the steps and launched himself at Izuku. Izuku had no problems catching him, given his superior strength, but he was the one that had to be supported by Katsuki as they walked inside. They went through a tour of the house, with Izuku getting Masaru's old room, but Izuku knew that he wasn't really paying attention. He unpacked his stuff slowly, almost robotically. He was sure that this was a dream, that he'd wake up and his mom would be there, doing the same thing she did every day. He knew he'd had to settle into a routine, so he got ready for the upcoming week.
As the years passed, Izuku grew more and more withdrawn due to the loss of his mother. These days, the only people who could get words out of him were the teachers, and Katsuki was the only one he would hold a conversation with. He dedicated himself to his studies and writings, preparing himself in order to become a hero. He wanted to stop others from going through what he had been through, and his way of doing that was dedicating himself to helping others.
A lot of advancements regarding his quirk were made, especially the utility aspect. He could control the movements and actions of Venom, as well as manifesting the face of the symbiote. Meanwhile, Venom had figured out how to take his true form, but it came at the cost of rendering Izuku entirely useless during that period. Adding to that, during that time he couldn't extend any parts of his body, only keep his form. However, there were many pluses. His strength and speed increased exponentially, and his durability and endurance were off the charts. Nothing short of an All Might enhanced punch could damage him, but there were other weaknesses, sound being the main one. Venom was sensitive to extremely high pitched sound, but only to ones that would nearly kill other humans. He figured this out when Venom recoiled from airplanes atop a building, but experimentation set the airplane sensitivity range to about 100 meters. There was also no way for the two to communicate outside of Venom manifesting a head, something that hadn't changed.
This brings us to today, when the kids of Aldera Junior High were talking about where they wanted to go for the next few years.
"Now, I know that all of you want to get into the hero path, but you are still not allowed to use your quirks in the classroom," the teacher said. Everyone erupted in chattering, but stopped only when she announced some prestigious goals. "I believe Bakugou was planning on attending UA this year." This was met with support all around.
"That's the most prestigious hero academy in all of Japan! Their cutoff rate is super high," one student stated.
"There's no way he'd fail the practical with a quirk like that," said another.
"He could also get in through the written portion, his grades are highest in the class," said a third. Everyone had forgotten about Izuku, averaging perfection in each of his classes, who never said anything about his grades compared to the rest.
"I believe Midoriya was also planning on registering for the hero course there," the teacher stated, with much less enthusiasm than when she announced Bakugou's aspirations. This was met with mixed reactions from the class.
"How could he get into UA?"
"His quirks too villainous, there's no way they'd let him in."
"He doesn't even have the grades to get in."
All of them were shut up when Bakugou blasted several explosions in a closed fist, shutting everyone up.
"He has a better chance of getting in than all you useless extras combined," the explosive blond yelled. The yelling following that speech could have made an All Might interview pale in comparison. Sighing to himself and dragging a hand along his face, Izuku got up and left for home.
He was halfway to Bakugou's house, using a longer route he sometimes took, when he was warned of danger by the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. Turning around, he was met with a disgusting sight.
Sewer green slime filled his sight, with two floating eyeballs hanging loosely off of the middle area. A mouth made of junk moved, and it took a second for the words to register in Izuku's mind.
Holy shit it's a villain!
Izuku turned to run, but was met with more slime. He had to stall for time, and make a commotion so that a pro hero could get on the scene. Before he could think of anything, the smile converged on him.
Reacting instinctively, the first thing that happened was a black mask covering everything from his nose to his chin. It looked kind of like a ski mask, but he was able to breathe out of it. That was good, seeing as the slime was fully surrounding him. He felt it prodding and poking his face, trying to find an entrance to his system.
Okay, protection is good. Second, commotion.
Blindly shooting out a tentacle, Izuku felt pressure on it, something that was either a wall, ceiling or floor. He broke it with the strength he had, hoping that something would help him. The sound resulting from the crack likely attracted attention, but he needed to continue on the defensive for now.
By now, the slime had realized that he couldn't enter through the mouth or nose, so was trying his luck with other body parts. Before Izuku knew what was happening, a tendril plunged itself into his pants, trying to enter his rectum. He shut it down with more of Venom, but it was disturbing all the same. By now, he was completely coated in the black substance that made up his quirk, filling any and all ways for the slime to take hold of his body. He was about to go unconscious from the pressure and suffocation, but he managed to register a yelling voice, unable to comprehend whatever it was saying, and suddenly all the pressure lifted. The last thing he registered before fainting was a red suit and bright yellow hair, bending down in front of him, before everything went black.
Izuku woke up to someone slapping his face. Clearing his eyes, he sat up and saw the number one hero, bending down in front of him.
"Ah, you're finally awake," the symbol of peace stated, way too casual for his mind to take.
"All Might?" the way he said it phrased it as a question, to which the symbol of peace nodded in earnest.
Izuku used Venom's abilities to gather all his stuff into his backpack, packing everything neatly, except for his latest notebook and a pen.
"Can you sign my notebook?" Izuku asked. His tone was indifferent, but it was something he always wanted done. All Might nodded, and did so. They both stood up, Izuku looking at a slightly awkward angle to his savior's massive height.
"Well, I must take the remains of the villain to the police station, so goodbye young.." All Might trailed off, waiting for Izuku to state his name.
"Izuku Midoriya," Izuku introduced himself, holding out a hand. It was encompassed by the meaty monster that was All Might's bear claw, and shaken with a little too much force.
"Thank you young Midoriya for subduing that villain," All Might said. They both turned to leave, though neither of them noticed the tendril that connected Izuku to All Might. Izuku had just put his backpack in a secure position over both shoulders, and All Might was about to jump, when the tendril snapped in place. All Might kicked off, and Izuku felt the extreme pushback that came with his extreme strength, but after a second, he was tugged along, flailing and trying not to lose his lunch. His arms windmilled, trying to right himself, and he was pulled along by Venom as All Might nearly floated in the sky with the height of his jump.
Meanwhile, All Might was confused. His jump wasn't as powerful as it should have been, though it hadn't changed much from before. He looked back, and to his surprise, young Midoriya was somehow hanging on to his leg with a tendril from the boy's leg. He aimed for a rooftop as he felt his power waning, and landed smoothly, before looking back to see the boy's fate. To his surprise, once more, the boy was calm and landed in a textbook roll to break his fall.
He seemed to hesitate for a second, then asked a question. I barely paid attention since I was starting to steam, but I saw him close his eyes so I started monologuing hoping to distract him.
"Can I be a hero with a villainous quirk?" the boy asked, squeezing his eyes shut. He was clearly scared of the response, unsure of how the symbol of peace might react. Toshinori let his muscle form drop, unable to sustain it anymore, sighing to himself.
"Young Midoriya, there is no such thing as a villainous quirk. The only thing that makes a villain is the person, not what they use. Quirks are tools, nothing more, to be used as the owner sees fit. If the person wants to lead a life like a civilian, they can. If they want to hurt others, they may try. If they want to help others, they will. So yes, young man, you can be a hero, no matter what other people think of your quirk." Halfway through his speech, the young man opened his eyes, and stopped registering the speech of the new man he saw. Lanky and skeletal, the man looked absolutely nothing like the man who just stood there. Despite the decently tall frame, Izuku saw absolutely no semblance of the goliath of muscle that was All Might. Even so, he didn't make a comment. In fact, the first words he spoke were of acceptance.
"I knew it," Izuku said. This greatly confused the man, because he had never told anyone but a select few about his Small Might form. Then, he felt suspicion that a mere child had known something about him that only his most trusted friends knew. As if sensing this wariness, Izuku dispelled all notions as best he could.
"It was extremely likely that you weren't in that form all the time, otherwise someone or the other would have known your true identity. My guess was that you used your quirk to bulk up and use a lot of power, some sort of hybrid between a strength and transformation type quirk. Then, when you ran out of energy to use it, you would have switched back in a discreet location so you could blend in again. Don't worry, I know how important it is that this stays between us. I swear I will not tell anyone." Izuku's dialogue allowed All Might to do a bit of thinking. He was glad that hopefully, this boy hadn't told anyone his theory, otherwise things would be shaken up for him. Adding to that, it was something villains could exploit. However, now he felt sort of obligated to tell the young boy his true reason for his current form.
"Partially correct, young man. However, there is something you're missing. I could have sustained my form nearly forever if I so wanted to, but yes, there is a time limit. However, recently, that time limit became shorter due to this," All Might stated. Izuku saw the man lift up his shirt, and show a horrific area where he focused his attention. The skin was stitched together, but it still looked as if someone had run him through with a spear in his stomach area. "In a fight four years ago, I took a hit that caused me to lose my stomach and one of my lungs. Now, I can only hold this form for a couple hours per day, and it's getting shorter. Now, enough about me, why don't you tell me why you felt your quirk was villainous?"
Izuku nodded, about to start explaining, when an explosion nearly knocked both of them down. Both turning to face the area of origin, they were horrified when they saw bits of green slime sticking out of the street. The slime villain had gotten loose.
As if working on the same train of thought, they looked toward All Might's pockets, where the bottles were no longer there. Cursing in sync, Izuku ran towards All Might, letting his quirk manifest a bit.
"I'm sorry for distracting you, All Might. Hop on, and let me take you there so we can see what's going on," Izuku stated. He had abandoned all friendly personality traits, switching to a purely business mode, something Toshinori imitated.
"Call me Toshinori when I'm in this form, kid." All Might, now identified as Toshinori, stated, climbing onto Izuku's back. With that, the kid started jumping across rooftops, taking the most direct path to the problem area.
Arriving there, Toshinori dismounted Izuku, both looking into the mass of fire and slime that had occupied the area. Several pros were on the scene, but none of them had the right powers to deal with the slime villain, so they focused on rescue and disaster control operations for now.
Meanwhile, Izuku was having a panic attack at the scene. He had first seen it when his mom nearly died, but was now moving on to his closest friend. He identified the signature spiky blond hair of his friend in the sludge, and started running. Everything blacked out, literally, and Izuku dropped his bag, becoming enveloped in the substance making up Venom. Now standing a good six feet at the very least, with a tank like build, Venom was fully in control, and boy was he mad.
Picking up a piece of piping that had broken off of a nearby building, he threw it with pinpoint accuracy, nailing the villain in the eyes. This damaged the villain for a little bit, enough to allow Izuku to gain about 10 more meters of ground before the villain recovered. It blabbered something incoherent, then sent a bunch of slime at head level, with the intention of swallowing Izuku once more. In response, Venom fully retracted, leaving only Izuku, who was scowling deeply. Baseball sliding under the slime, he shot out a tentacle to the area where Katsuki was held, pulling him out using sheer force. Catching Katsuki in a bridal carry as the other boy hacked and heaved trying to regain air in his lungs, he created a shield using Venom that blocked the slime's attacks.
He had rushed in here on instinct, and now he was in trouble. He needed a plan, and fast. Thinking for a second, he came up with an idea. A crazy one, but an idea nonetheless. Smiling, he grabbed a brick and threw it to where some beams were hanging, knocking them loose. They fell onto the slime, trapping him for the moment. As the sludge recovered, Izuku turned to Katsuki, a neutral expression on his face. The blond had regained his breath, and was ready to jump into action against the villain that had harmed him.
"You can't harm it with physical attacks. Blow it apart, that was how All Might defeated him the first time." Eyes widening at the All Might part, he decided to postpone it in favor of listening to his friend. Readying his attack, the slime had fully reformed, ready to attack.
"Hell's Air!" Katsuki shouted.
The resulting explosion of fiery wind made the alley uninhabitable for days to come.
After being yelled at by the heroes, and praised for their planning and quirks, Izuku and Katsuki were free to go. After being yelled at by Mitsuki once they recounted their tale, the two boys were sitting on the porch, talking about the day.
"So what did you mean with the All Might thing?" Katsuki asked, finally stating what was on his mind.
"That sludge villain, as they're calling it, first attacked me. I was stuck in it, just like you, when All Might Detroit smashed it into near oblivion, and caught it in two bottles. The way he did it was probably the wind pressure, given it was intangible due to the liquid form. So that's what I meant by the All Might comment. Oh yeah, he signed my notebook afterwards. Want to see?" Izuku asked.
"Fuck yes," said Katsuki. Izuku dug into his bag, and pulled out the slightly tattered notebook from where he kept it. Opening to the last page, he saw All Might's signature, and put it out for Katsuki to see. Both boys soon began laughing, as they shifted so quickly from a near death experience to fanboying about their favorite heroes. Atop a nearby rooftop, Toshinori Yagi smiled, seeing the boy he had deemed worthy of being his successor having fun after the day. He noticed Katsuki head inside after exchanging a few words with Midoriya, who got up and began walking away.
Toshinori followed Izuku as he walked, who was taking weird twists and turns in order to get to some weird location. At one point, he lost sight of Izuku in an alley, where he ran back to overlook the street to find the boy. Turning around, he was met with the scary sight of someone his height, but less than a third of his age smirking, with black tendrils swirling around him.
"Something you wanted to contact me about?" Izuku Midoriya asked. Toshinori smiled.
"I choose you to inherit my power. Young man, you are going to be the next greatest hero of all time," Toshinori stated. The shock was clear on the young man's face as he registered what exactly Toshinori had said. But, that shock was soon met with a soft smile, one that promised to do his best and be his best.
"How do I start?"
A/N: So if you haven't noticed, there will be a bunch of OOC characters, just cause I'm not sure how to write them. Leave your honest opinions please, I want to know how to improve for future stories!
