"This is Dean's other-other phone, you should know what to do." beep. "Hey… uhh yeah Dean? Something happened, and I had no one else. I need you to come home, mom doesn't remember you and I don't know what to do. So… yeah, please come back, please." With a soft click, the message was sent. Small hands start to shakily put the phone near his lips. Silently wishing for a sense of sanity, for something to make sense. Wishing that the small corner would swallow him whole. A small echo is heard distantly, "Ben! It's time for dinner! You better hurry or it would go cold" His hands start to run through his hair as the tears fall down his face. Why won't anyone remember!

"You couldn't save him, Dean. you know that, right?" Sam tries to catch his brother's gaze as they walk to their car. "Yeah...totally" with a fake smirk the oldest brother got behind the wheel before Sam could continue the conversation. Silently he grabbed his phone from his jacket, his gaze falling on a missed call and a voice mail. When he heard his brother enter the Impala he looked at Sam with eyes full of fear, "Dean? What's wrong?" Concern was evident in the little brother's voice and without a second thought, the oldest Winchester played the audio message. "Hey… uhh yeah Dean? Something happened, and I had no one else. I need you to come home, mom doesn't remember you and I don't know what to do. So… yeah, please come back, please."

Without another word, Dean started his baby and made his way to his long-lost family.

"There you are. I started to get worried, you are starting to stay in your room for a long period of time. Would you like to tell me why?" It was soft and you can tell that she was worried but Ben looked up to his mother, "because I'm worried about Dean." he only found the strength to whisper it. "Again with this Dean! I already told you that he is not real. Ben-" the young boy slams his hands against the surface of the table, "WHY CAN'T YOU REMEMBER HIM! He spent a year here! A FULL YEAR with us, he taught me to fight against bullies, he taught me to fix cars, he was the one-"

"BENJAMIN! STOP with this. Dean is not real, ever since the car accident you have been acting weird. All I want is for you to be ok. I don't know if this Dean is a way to deal with that trauma, but you need to stop!"

"But he's my DAD! I can't just forget about him. And if you don't believe me, then call this number!" Ben throws a piece of paper from his pocket at his mother. She looks at the paper, "this is a Kansas area code. Ben, how did you get this number?" his hands claw at his blond hair in frustration, "YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!" Silence started to drown the echoes of the scream away, and Lisa's calm but cold voice sent the quietness away. "Ben, go to your room"

"But-"

"Now!"

Without much more fight, he ran upstairs. Once again locking himself up in his room, stuck with remembering a happier time. With his dad.

"I want you back" silent tears quickly turn to sobs.

"Dean what do you mean, 'Ben called you'. I thought that you erased both his and her memories of you." Sam faced his older brother, "I did! I made sure that I was out of their lives for good! But apparently Ben remembers. I don't know-how, and I don't know for how long! But all that I do know is that my SON called me in distress and needing help, I am not going to ignore him!" Dean's green eyes full of occlusion struck Sam, "I'm not saying that you should, Dean! But I am trying to understand what is happening. Does Lisa remember?" the younger brother glances at Dean waiting for an answer. "Ben says that no one else remembers me" it was quiet but Sam could still hear it. "What are we going to do, Dean?"

Both Winchesters looked at each other.

"I don't know…" Dean's eyes focused on the road, while Sam's gaze looked out the window. "Well, we have 12 hours to figure it out."

The teenager keeps his eyes looking out the window, hoping that a specific black car will pull up. He can only close his eyes and imagine hearing the slow purr of the engine pull up and slowly stop, followed by the normal creak of the doors. But when he opens them back up, it's gone and his hope goes with it. "Ben, darling. I'm going to head to work, ok? I'll be back by 7, there's food in the fridge." He couldn't find the energy to reply, and it didn't take long to hear the front door shut and the lock click. A sudden hatred fills up in him.

Why is no one listening to him!? Why is he the one that can only focus on this!? Where is his dad? Why did he leave him!? Why didn't he call him back!?

Ben suddenly stands up and chucks his phone against the adjacent wall and he watches it shatter to pieces. The anger dissipates to intense sadness and despair, he sinks to the floor and brings his knees to his chest, and he covers his ears, trying so hard to not hear his own tears or heartbreaking.

He couldn't hear someone shouting and he couldn't feel someone trying to hold him. All he knows is that he is alone and nothing will change that. The sudden fear that no one else is here and he might die here, not being able to breathe. All of a sudden his breathing got worse.

Dean pulls the Impala near the curb and quickly shuts her off. Before Sam could even open his door, the older Winchester was already running to the house. When the younger brother was able to catch up to Dean, they both heard a crash upstairs. With one glance at each other and a short nod, Dean sent a forceful kick to the front door that sent it crashing. The pair ran upstairs and in record time they reached the end of the hall to the only closed door.

"Ben? Ben!" Dean's low gravel voice went through the door but when the only reply was a whimper, the oldest Winchester rushed into the bedroom. The sight that Sam saw tore his heart out. A small boy, not even 17, curled up on the floor having what seems like a panic attack. With his older brother trying to comfort him.

"I'm right here. I'm here. Can you take some breaths? Can you match mine? In 1-2-3, Out -2-3. I'm right here. In 1-2-3, Out-2-3. There you go."

Sam can only watch in amazement as Ben starts to slowly calm down, how did Dean know what to do?

"Can you tell me where you put your medicine?" with a small point, Dean was grabbing an orange container. "I'm right here. I am never going to leave. Now come on, I got you." Once Sam saw Ben take the pills. The youngest Winchester didn't know how this could get any more heartwarming until the young teen gripped onto Dean. "I'm right here, that's it. You got it. Now I'm going to put you on your bed, okay?" waiting for a nod, the oldest Winchester picked up the teen like he was nothing. "I'm going to stay right here. Rest, okay?" with another nod, Ben closed his eyes.

Both Winchesters went to the corner of the room, watching the young boy. "Uh, Dean?" "Yeah, Sam?"

"How did you know what to do?" Sam looked at his older brother, with a new sense of amazement.

"Something happened when Ben was younger, Lisa refuses to tell me. But Ben has these moments of having a panic attack. Every single time he has these, Lisa would always let me handle it because she couldn't stay calm. When someone has a panic attack, don't touch them until they are lucid enough. Then you have to talk to them in short sentences. Then you need to help them breathe, kinda like counting. Ben always thought he was weak because of them, so I had to tell him that only the strongest get them, and only the strongest would accept help. Ever since then, he would come to me when he could see the gradual climb of the attack, but I guess when I left he had Lisa help." Dean never let his gaze leave Ben and he kept his arms crossed and he let himself lean against the wall.

"How did you know it was a Panic attack and not an Anxiety attack?"

"Most people don't know the difference. Anxiety attacks are when people may feel fearful or apprehensive. They could have shortness of breath. But anxiety attacks are short and when the trigger is gone then so does the anxiety attack.

Panic attacks don't come with a trigger necessarily, they are unpredictable and when someone is having one, that means that they are filled with fear and apprehension. You may feel like you're going to die or you can't seem to gain control. They get nausea, dizzy or they can't breathe. Who knows how long Ben was sitting like that." Sam could only look in amazement at his brother and have a newfound respect for him.

"You really care for him, don't you?"

"Of course. I would do anything for this kid. He is up there with you and Cas."

When they heard Ben stirring on the bed, they both raced to both sides of Ben's bed. "Hey there, Buddy" The younger Winchester is amazed by how soft his voice got, he can only remember he used that voice when we were younger or when he's seriously injured. The young man's eyes blinked slowly to try to focus on the men above him, at first he was surprised but that quickly faded to disbelief. "Dean?" Ben slowly reaches to touch the oldest Winchester, to make sure that he was real.

"I'm right here, kid." Ben's eyes quickly filled with tears and he gripped onto Dean, almost as if he was scared he would disappear. Dean hugged Ben back just as hard, loving that he got to hold Ben again. "I was so scared. I thought that you didn't exist, I didn't know where you were-"

"Hey, I am right here. I'm not going anywhere, Ben." with a shaky nod being backed out of Dean's nape of the neck. "Why did you make us forget you?" Dean's eyes softened even more and he held the side of the kid's head. Forcing them to maintain eye contact. "That's a complicated story"

"Then tell me!" Ben's hold on Dean's arms tightened.

"I can't, Ben."

Ben shook Dean's shoulders, "I deserve to know! Because all I know right now, is the only person that gave me comfort and a figure to look up to other than my mom, just abandoned me. Didn't want anything to do with me, didn't care if I sat in my room wondering what I was missing! Even after you had me forget, I could still feel as if something is missing, something that is so important that I couldn't even erase it all the way!" Dean slowly brought Ben back down into a hug.

"It was nothing like that, Ben. You don't know how many nights I stayed up wondering if you and Lisa were ok. I needed to stay away because if you do remember, then you remember what my job is. It's not safe, things can come to hurt you and Lisa to get to me. And what I slowly turn into after every case, it's not good. I am very sorry, you don't even know how sorry I am that you still felt my absence. That you still feel abandoned even when it seems everything is there."

"If you're truly sorry then bring me with you. If you won't stay here, then I want to go with you."

"No, Ben. that is never going to happen. You have a life here, you have Lisa and your friends. Coming with me is not worth losing all that!"

"Let me decide that! I am not 10 anymore! I hate my life here. I hate how my friends do the same thing every day. I hate my mom's new boyfriend! I want to be with you! The only thing I would stay here for is my mom, but I'm going to leave in a couple of years anyway. Please, please. I need to go with you."

"Ben you don't know what going with me means-"

"YES, I DO! I helped you with that case with the kids! You don't understand that going with you is what is going to save me!"

"Ben-"

"So if you really care for me, then you would let me choose what I want!"

Dean looks at Sam as if asking what to do. All Sam does is nod, saying that no matter what Dean decides he will beach his brother up. Dean hugs Ben even closer, "I don't want you to regret this decision" Ben starts to shake his head, "I am never going to regret this, please don't wipe my memory."

"I will never do that again"

"Dean, what are we going to do?" Sam brought Dean outside of Ben's room, just out of Ben's earshot. "I don't know!" Dean started to pace and bring his hands to his hair. "If we bring him with us then his life is going to be in constant danger, I mean the kid can't even fight! But if he stays then he will keep trying to come after you."

"I know, Sam!"

"So it comes down to what kind of sacrifice do you want to make? Whatever decision you make, I will support you."

"What I want is to take that kid in my arms and give him what he needs! But I know that doing that will chase any sort of innocence or safety he has ever had away. He would only have me!" Sam could tell that Dean is at the end of his rope.

"Then let him decide, Dean."

"But-"

"It would be his choice"

"Then what would we do about his mom! Not for anything but she would probably notice that her only kid was missing! And probably kidnapped from a complete stranger for that manor!"

"I know-"

Before Sam could finish his reply, Ben decided to argue his side, "I would tell her"

"What! Ben, no!"

"Then wipe her memory of me."

The Winchesters could only look at the kid in pure disbelief. "Ben, You would technically never have a mom. That doesn't sound good. Dean and I don't want you to lose your mom forever. You wouldn't have a family to go back to." The youngest Winchester tried to get Ben to fully understand what wiping his mom's memories would do. "Do you not think I already thought of all these options. All I would have is you guys! And I am okay with that! Why can't you understand? I grew up hearing stories of my mom's bedtime stories. And you know what the hero's name is in every single story? Dean. I always asked my mom to tell another story about Dean, my favorite hero. So when I grew up and on my 8th birthday I met a guy named Dean, and he taught me how to stand up to my bullies. He saved me from the big bad monster! He swooped in and saved kids just like me while he was fighting the monster. You became the Dean in my stories! And when I heard my mom tell you that I wasn't your kid, I knew it was a lie because she never got me tested. And here you come back for a year! The best year of my life! Because I had my hero back, He taught me how to fix a car, how to drive, get good grades, and how to play sports so I can succeed. You even taught me self-defense! There was no other person in the world that I would rather follow. Because you were already the best. You knew what I needed, the way you treated mom. No other man has ever treated her as good as how you did. The way she smiled and the way you took care of the both of us! The way you would touch her like she was the most important thing in the world, and how you hugged her like you were afraid that she would disappear. The way you played with me, or the way you taught me like you actually cared for me and not to suck up to my mom! THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE I WOULD RATHER BE MY DAD! So don't you dare say that I would rather stay here.'' Ben was close to choking on his tears when he finished, he didn't understand how many times he had to repeat himself to prove himself to Dean.

"Ben how do you-"

"I could see how much you loved mom and me. I saw even when you guys would fight, when you saw her cry and walk away, you wouldn't even hesitate before you apologized and took full blame. How you would hug her and let her cling to you. When I would have a panic attack, you would take such good care of me. You treated me as if I would break when everyone else would ignore me or not care enough to see how to deal with it! I want you, Dean! I CHOOSE YOU!"

By the end of the speech, Dean knelt on the ground so Ben could cling to him.

"Okay… sh, sh. I'm here. You can come with us if you want. I'm going to let you decide." Dean rubbed Ben's back and up to his head, trying to comfort him the best he could. The oldest Winchester looked up to Sam and he saw Sam close to tears, nodding. Telling Dean that it was okay. "How do you want us to take care of your mom, wipe her memory, or tell her that you are leaving?" it was soft and quiet

"Can I tell her?" Dean quickly nodded, "Of course it is. Now, when does she get home?"

"7"

"Do you want us to stay here until she comes back?" Ben leaned back enough to look Dean in the eye, then nodded.

"Okay, we'll stay here then."

Taking his time, Dean slowly got up and went back into Ben's room, with the 16-year-old and his brother following him.

Ben was watching out his window when he saw his mom drive past the impala that was parked near the curb, "she's here." Both Sam and Dean snapped their head up from their places on the bed. Sam quickly asked Ben, "Do you want us to stay up here?"

"I think that would be best"

With short nods, Ben made his way down the stairs right when his mom opened the door. "Ben! Thank goodness! I saw a strange car outside and I thought that you were in danger!"

"Yeah, I'm good."

"Are you okay, Honey?"

"Umm yeah, can I talk to you on the couch?"

"Why? Is something wrong?"

"Yeah…"

The pair walked to the living room and sat on the couch

"What is it that you wanted to speak to me about?"

"I want to leave… I know what you're going to say "You're only 16" but I promise you that this is what I want and I have people that will help me and-"

"No"

"What?"

"No, I said no."

"But-"

"Ben, I don't know where this is coming from, but if it is about what happened last night then I will not let you leave just because we fought"

"IT'S NOT ABOUT LAST NIGHT! I've been wanting to leave for a while. I just didn't know how to tell you-"

"Is that why there is a strange car outside? Is that your ticket out of here? You were about to leave me just like that?"

"Of course not! I wanted to tell you first-"

"So you weren't asking, you were telling?"

"Will you let me speak?"

Ben could almost taste his mothers' disappointment, he knew that this was going to be hard but he didn't think that his mother was going to be this adamant about keeping him here. "I will not let you leave here! There is not going to be any other argument because you are a 16-YEAR-OLD KID! That won't survive out there by yourself!" By this time Lisa jumped up and began to stomp out of the room. "But I won't BE by myself-" Ben tried to speak but he was quickly cut off. "No more discussion"

Ben saw his mother leave the room, and he quickly ran up the stairs to his room to get what little comfort he could from Dean.

When Dean saw the kid barge in, he stood up from the bed but when Ben tackled him with a hug all Dean could do was return it. "So it didn't go well?" he felt Ben shake his head, still clutching unto Dean. The older Winchester looked at Sam asking for help, "Hey, Ben? Are you okay?" but all that the younger brother got was some muffled words. "What was that?" It was soft and quiet. Ben slowly retreated his head and spoke in a louder voice,

"Take her memory away."

Authors note: This Chapter is part of a series that I am starting that is about Dean and Ben. This is not the only chapter, so keep that in mind. I hope that you liked and enjoyed this, please comment and give me some feedback:) thanks! Sorry for any Lisa lovers out there! I love her but in order to get the plot moving, I had to make her a little mean.

I do not own ANY of these characters, the writers of Supernatural own them.
