For the prologue, I decided to use the two protagonists as narrators, both with similar thoughts.
Yukino's narrative is in italics.
Hachiman's narrative is in bold.
Sometimes they both share the same thoughts, which is signified when both italics and bold font is used.
Future chapters mostly will not be like this.
Magic is the representation of human impotence.
For years, I, Hikigaya Hachiman, have lived alongside humans without magic. All my life I knew that all humans were the same, simply that the minority, wizards, have special powers that make them better than the 'Muggles' they talk about with disgust. The difference is that while Muggles work for it, wizards get it right away. Though they are born with this advantage, wizards still deem themselves better than Muggles, who they say are "stupid, ignorant and useless".
The wizards I've lived with all my life expect me, an 11-year-old girl, to be extremely talented just because I awakened my magic earlier than other children. I do not consider that to be something I should take pride in. I can barely cast spells after all.
But for whatever reason, adults think that's the right thing to do.
They place ludicrous expectations on someone who has an advantage that others didn't.
They minimize those who grew up in a totally different place than their own, they discard those who were not born with their advantages.
So my expectations for Hogwarts? I have none.
Because at the end of the day…
It all depends on the image.
It all depends on the advantages you were born with.
And if you understand that, it is nothing more than a facade that promises and follows all those fantasies to a T.So I am sure that it will be a boring year.
The same as my house, just less strict.
There is no need to get excited about something as stupid as that. Contrary to the excited idiots near me that I share a wagon with.
