It was a dark and stormy night off the coast of Massachusetts.
Rain poured down on the mysterious Lakewood Manor where numerous family members had gathered. They sat within a towering living room upon sofas and cushions, in front of roaring fireplace. On either side of the fireplace stood a grand stone statue, one of a Chimera, one of Cerberus. A charming young woman in a pantsuit stood before the greeting the family members.
"I would like to welcome you all to reading of your Uncle, Richard Lakewood's, will." The young woman gestured to a large portrait hanging over the fireplace of elderly man with a monocle and tie.
"My dearest relatives," the young woman began reading from a sheet of paper, "I would like to welcome you all back to Lakewood Manor."
"My brother, Colonel Archibald Lakewood.." She gestured towards an elderly man on the couch. He had a large white moustache, and wore a military uniform with numerous medals.
"My niece, Vanessa Lakewood.." She gestured towards a curvaceous, brunette in a stunning red dress. A snooty white cat with a bow around her neck sat in her lap purring.
"And of course my nephew, Silas Lakewood.." She gestured towards a greasy looking fellow in a green pinstripe suit. He had a small penciled moustache and slicked back hair.
"And of course," said the young woman looking up from the will with a smile, "I'm your Uncle's Lawyer, and holder of his estate, Melanie Hart!"
None of the relatives looked amused. They all scowled at Melanie, impatiently waiting for her to continue. "Can we get on with this," Silas snapped, "I have more important places to be right now.
All of a sudden, a large crash could be heard in the hallway outside, catching everyone in the room's attention. A small brown raced into the room followed by a tall grey cat with a mallet.
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh!" shouted Silas leaping into his Uncle Archibald's lap. "Vermin! Get them out of here! I have Allergies! I have Allergies!"
The little mouse raced up the mantlepiece, with the cat close behind. Knick-knacks and photographs flew everywhere as he swung his mallet trying to catch the mouse. The relatives desperately attempted to dodge them.
The mouse leapt down from the mantlepiece and landed in front of Vanessa. "Like eww!" Vanessa proclaimed, "A rat! Get him Tootles!"
The white cat grinned viciously and chased after the mouse. The three animals raced around in circles at the feet of Melanie.
"Spike!" the Colonel proclaimed dropping his nephew down on the floor, "Break this up!"
A large grey bulldog raced into the room, with a loud bark. The frightened cats and mouse scattered off in various directions as the animal chased them. Tootles coward into her owner's lap, while the cat and mouse quickly up onto Melanie, holding onto her tightly.
Spike barked up at Melanie, still parking at the intruders. "Just what are these animals doing here?" the Colonel proclaimed restraining Spike.
"This is Tom and Jerry," Melanie explained taking ahold of the cat and mouse, "They're old friends of your Uncle Richards."
"Well restrain them!" said Silas picking himself up. "This is an important will reading! It's no place for animals."
"Right away sir," Melanie said embarrassed. She carried Tom and Jerry over to an armchair and set them down side by side. "Now you two behave yourselves," she said pointing at the cat and mouse.
Jerry stuck out his tongue at Tom, cause the cat the cat to grown and grumble to himself.
Melanie cleared her throat and continued to read from the will, "I know you're all curiously to hear who will be inheriting my fortune, including Lakewood Manor which has been in our family for over a hundred years."
The three relatives leaned in intently, wicked smiles crossing there faces.
"I am pleased to announce," Melanie continued, "That I will be leaving my entire estate to two individuals who I trust more than anyone else in the world.. Thomas Cat and Jerome Mouse!"
"What?!" the relatives shouted looking over towards the cat and mouse.
Tom and Jerry looked at each other for a brief moment, dumbfounded. Suddenly smiles crossed their faces as they hugged each other tightly. They leapt from their seat and raced over two Melanie, shaking her hands in gratitude. They then proceeded to bow and blow kisses as if the whole room was their audience.
"This is an outrage!" Silas proclaimed leaping from his seat. "Our family fortune left into the hands of common household pets!"
"I quite agree," proclaimed the Colonel picking himself up. "I know that my brother was never exactly fond of the rest of the family, but this is quite unsporting of him I must say."
"I'm sorry gentlemen," said Melanie pointing towards the, "but it's all right here in black and white."
"I don't have to stand for this," Silas proclaimed preparing to storm out of the room, "You'll be hearing from my lawyer."
But before Silas could storm out, the entire household went pitch black, leaving only the lights of the fireplace aglow.
"Hellooo," proclaimed Vanessa sounding annoyed, "Could somebody please tell me what's going on here?"
"Settle down everyone," Melanie spoke up, "It's just a power outage."
"BwaHaHaHaaHaHaHaaHaHaHaaHaaaaaaaa!" a loud voice cackled filling the entire room. "At long last, the last heir to the House of Lakewood is dead!"
A large bright light appeared in the center of the room, revealing the floating figure of an elderly man in flowing robes.
"Now my vengeance is certain!"
The medallion around his neck began to glow red, and two bright beams of light flew out of it hitting the statues on either side of the fire place. All of a sudden the eyes of the Chimera began to glow red. The Cerberus began shaking it's three heads and flexing it's limbs. Tom, Jerry, and the rest of the guests panicked as two statures came to life approaching them.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARR!"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggghhhhhhhhhh!" the guests quickly ran out of the room in a panic.
"Let it be known.." the ghostly figure proclaimed, "That from this day forward.. No One shall set foot in the House of Lakewood.. Be they Man or Mouse!"
Upon hearing this Tom suddenly screeched to a halt. He ran back into the room and leapt back into it with a smile.
All of a sudden Tom felt a hot breathing on the back of his neck. He turned to see the face of the Chimera growling at him.
"ROOOOOOOAAAAARRR!" It shouted.
"Aaaaaaaaaaagghhhhhh!" Tom shouted as he ran for his life.
"That goes for Cats!" the ghost proclaimed.
